UK fan here. UK has one decent player on offense (WR Dane Key) and the other starters are bad. UK's defense was solid for the first half of the year but with injuries and the incompetence of the offense I think they quit at the Florida game. UK's best DL Deone Walker sat out yesterday's game and I wouldn't be surprised if he sits out the final 2 games because why risk your draft status for a crap team that's going nowhere and a coach that quit before the season started. Texas winning 70-0 would help us get Stoops overpaid whiny fat ass out of here.24 points

First of all, I want to say- fuck you Arkansas- good to get that off my chest. We deliveranced your offense with our defense and did just enough on offense to beat you while crushing your hopes and dreams for 60 minutes, thinking you had a chance when you really didn’t. Twas nice. Next year I think we will probably just do the thing where we beat you by 6 TD’s and you can tell us which loss was more painful. Look forward to checking in on that in 365. Next up- Kentucky. Look- this game is why I think it’s easier for Texas to play in the SEC than the big 12. We have a second rate team that’s coming off a bye and a cupcake. I’m not particularly worried. If that was, say, Iowa State or Kansas State or Tech we would get a jihad of all jihads called down upon us. And that would basically happen 9 times a year. Kentucky? In Austin in November? Betting the vibe from the fanbase and the players is more of a “how cool is it to be here in Austin playing Texas?” than said jihad I referenced with the big 12. For a conference with a lot of talk about “it just means more” I don’t have the slightest bit of respect for “the meat grinder”. This is the type of game those half wits from college station used to talk about all the time. But but but, you don’t have to play a team like Kentucky, who has nfl athletes all over their defense as a mid tier game. Ok? We had to settle for being tech’s Super Bowl and getting schemed for 365 days by legitimately great X and O guys. We will see again this week a shitty offensive team with some athletes that we should easily take care of if we don’t self sabotage. I’m going to go ahead and look forward to the game in College Station in 2 weeks and overlook these generic and boring nothings. Now, I will be very excited when they are in Austin for hoops. Once we get that fixed. Which I assume is next on the agenda. But until then I look forward to getting through the 3rd and final completely and totally generically boring game with zero interest this overrated conference of half wits have served up (MSU, Vandy, Kentucky). maybe yall are more excited than I am for Big Blue to roll into town. I’d just like to see Ewers hit a deep shot or two- get up 14 early- and then point and laugh as they set offensive football back 3 decades.23 points

Fucking shit piles. I never knew vaginitis was so contagious. Fuck the media. Fuck the polls. Fuck the goddamn CFP Committee. We’re going to trample UK. Then we’re going to ass fuck aggy with a rusty pitchfork until they pray for the ghost of Justin Tucker to kick them out of their misery. Finally, we’re going to kick the shit out of whatever unfortunate sack of shit is forced to face us in the SEC Championship Game. Then the media, pollsters, commentators, and the other dipshit hillbillies in this shitty ass conference can line up to lick Sark’s taint.22 points

It's amazing how many people were hoodwinked into harming themselves. It's like Jonestown on a national scale. Fox News got everybody drinking the Kool-Aid, and along came a charismatic cult leader to poison it, only instead of killing you, this Kool-Aid ruins your life and gets your grandma deported. Drink up, you ignorant sons of bitches.21 points

ATM fans haven't been this disappointed in a Longstreet since Gettysburg.20 points

Looch: This isn't a surprise at all. Elko and Klein expected this and have been working behind the scenes on another big time QB that fans should be very excited about. I knew two months ago but I couldn't tell anyone.18 points

Hilarious and predictable. If Longstreet doesn’t think he can beat out Reed as a freshman, he needs to go find another career. Let’s track it out chronologically: - Outrage that Wiggy wasn’t listed as Heisman favorite in the season previews. - Lose to Notre Dame, Wiggy is a pothead. - Winning streak with Reed, dark horse Heisman contender. - Wiggy is the 2025 favorite after the Mizzou game and then chases that with a benching against LSU. - Get smoked by South Carolina, Reed sucks and can’t throw. Longstreet is the savior. - Longstreet flips, and… wait for it… Reed is so good he scared away Longstreet.17 points

Not sure how any of it is worth your anger. This so much. He is a young man whose is now operating outside structure. He may not have caring people around him giving him good advice and not have a good emotional foundation to make decisions that are in his best interest. I was friends w former Texas swim coach, Richard Quick. He said the best athletes often couldn't handle not being the star at the college level. We may be seeing this here. It must be scary to be a young man without any life plan outside of 'making it to the league,' and then suddenly having that removed from your life.14 points

Yea, at some point you have to be empathetic and remember that he's still a teenager/young adult making bad choices.14 points

Why do you think I have any interest in being fair to these cousin-fucking, meth-slinging, losers in this bullshit digs we now live in? All I’ve heard forever is about how hard it is to win there because the teams in the conference are so awesome- so we went in and gave the biggest bully in the conference, Saban, the biggest buttfucking of his Bama career. After that all I heard was, but Wulaw- it’s about the meat grinder. Won’t somebody think of the meat grinder? 1 year in and I am as unimpressed with that meat grinder as I ever was with Bama. These fucking assholes are all hat/no cattle and our default position to any interaction with them should be mockery and ridicule.14 points

Here's my hope/wishcasting. I hope Zelensky basically told Biden: "Ok, you've basically run us out of time, and we're fucked in 2 months. So, like it or not, I'm using these things the way I should have been allowed to use them all along. You can either go along with it, or look like the lame duck you are...your call. k thx bye."13 points

It’s crazy to me how many people give Ewers a pass for prolonged stretches of shitty play but think Arch sucks because he had TWO bad drives against the same team that butt fucked Ewers for 2.5 quarters.13 points
-
Bullshit. The entire argument from the SEC honks is that it's always a meat grinder because even the bottom half of the SEC has good teams.13 points

Imagine your country is exposed to this level of terror. You wouldn’t negotiate with the terrorists from this neighboring country. You would fight back. Freedom is not negotiable. Freedom is not for free. And you are just curtailing your own freedom if you expect any other country should accept this.13 points

I love these guys. Eight out of ten opponents held under 20 points. Five of those held to 10 or less. Sacks and takeaways all over the place. This is a championship defense.11 points

Would rather this leak out after the first strikes... https://www.reuters.com/world/biden-lifts-ban-ukraine-using-us-arms-strike-inside-russia-2024-11-17/ Biden lifts ban on Ukraine using US arms to strike inside Russia WASHINGTON, Nov 17 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration has lifted restrictions that had blocked Ukraine from using U.S.-provided weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, said three sources familiar with the matter, in a significant change to U.S. policy in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Ukraine plans to conduct its first long-range attacks in the coming days, the sources said, without revealing details due to operational security concerns .11 points

If yall think this is just our fanbase overreacting, listen to the national shows (Cover 3, McShay, Solid Verbal). They are all very harsh on who Ewers is as a QB. at this point, I understand why we start Ewers, but we are capping our ceiling by starting him.11 points

He needs to get far away from Texas and start over. Hopefully he mentally holds up. I wish no ill will on young people. He didn’t work out for us so not going to waste my energy on him. Good luck to him.10 points

List of seasons where Texas defeated all three of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M: 1903 (also tied Oklahoma in a game, played them twice) 1906 1907 1908 (4-0, beat A&M twice) 1916 1932 1934 1940 1941 1942 1943 1944 1945 1946 1947 1958 1959 1961 1962 1963 1968 1969 1970 1977 1983 1990 2008 (! - can't believe I forgot about this one) AI may someday take over the world, but today is not that day. @Hayduke asked the question, the correct answer is 27, AI told him it was 3.10 points

This game felt a lot like the Iowa State trip last year - a November road game against a conference opponent that wants nothing more than to punch us in the face and spoil our playoff run. For Iowa State, it’s the annoying “5 star culture”gimmicky slogan that they love to run in our faces. For Arky it’s just unreciprocated hatred. Neither team was anything special (4 losses going in), but had a knack for knocking off higher ranked teams. We showed up, defended their onslaught, and counter punched well enough to win by 10 points. Last year the defense gave up a lot of passing yard to Brecht. This year it was the offense that went absent for a while to let Arky back in. Either way, we ended both games by kneeling in their territory while up two scores. I’ll take it. As for Ewers, I don’t think he’ll ever become a viable deep ball threat. I just wish he could eliminate the self sacking and take the free yards when they’re available. That alone could boost the offense enough to be significantly more potent.10 points

Last year we looked really bad against Houston. Nearly lost to KState. Needed an AD miracle catch to close out TCU. After all that frustration, we absolutely handled business against Tech and Oklahoma State, looking like a top team to end the season. I'm predicting the same for this year. The team is going to peak at the right time and curb stomp Kentucky and A&M.9 points

Kerch Bridge.. . Notice that this is being announced beforehand vs afterward. This is a major diplomatic play letting Russia know the time is now for negotiations. This comes on the heels of the announcement that the new division has completed training in France and is being transferred in with all-new French gear. Either Russia puts in a good faith effort to negotiate or it is time to reinforce the winter positions and to lay waste to the entire new corridor. Time to strike Kerch bridge, the port facilities at Yeysk, the rail and highway interchanges in Bryansk, the bridges that split the city of Smolensk in two as well as the rail yards there, plus a dozens of new air bases, troop depots, HQs and bridges that are now in range...9 points

My guess is we are operating with about 60% of the playbook when he plays like he did today. That won’t be good enough on his off nights in the playoffs, even if our defense is elite. He is a third year starter. My bar is a little higher than “please just don’t turn the ball over!”9 points
-
Against slap dicks at home. He also fucked up some pretty basic things that are integral to the offense. But sure, if y’all want to think Sark is sabotaging the team of the most lucrative brand in CFB and pissing off the most influential family in football to make Quinn Ewers happy have fun in your fantasy world.9 points

The dude has over 30 starts in his career and people still feel the desire to handle him with kid gloves. He’s a big boy who would be the first to tell you he needs to play better. A third year starter at QB should be elevating an offense at a place like Texas. He shouldn’t just be along for the ride or having to be put on a joystick by his playcaller. There were Texas QB’s in the past who didn’t get half the leash Ewers does in his third season from some in this fanbase just because they are still stuck on his HS rating and some beautiful passes he threw in a spring game and against Alabama a year ago. This team is good enough to win the national championship and we need our third year starter to be more than a game manager to get there. That ain’t asking for too much.9 points

Bit of a long 🧵 but I promise, it is actually going somewhere, not just a rant on Trump's cabinet picks. But the rant part first: Marco Rubio (Sec of State) - More or less qualified, but has become a whipped dog, begging for his master's love, since 2016 1/15 Pete Hegseth (Sec of Defense - No experience at Pentagon - No experience at large organization, or even medium size organization, or large budget management - Militant christian nationalist - sexual predator 2/ Matt Gaetz (DOJ) - No experience at DOJ - No experience with law enforcement (other than being arrested, investigated) - No experience with large or even medium sized organization management - Barely any experience as lawyer - sexual predator 3/ Tulsi Gabbard (DNI) - No experience in intelligence - No experience with large or even medium sized organization management - Regularly sides with our enemies over our intelligence agencies - Referred to by Moscow as "our girl(friend)" for years 4/ RFK Jr (Health and Human Services) - No experience in science or medicine - No experience with large or even medium sized organization management - Extreme science and medicine conspiracy theorist - sexual predator 5/ What do they all have in common? - Incompetence: Other than Rubio, none are even remotely qualified for the position. Most with no experience doing anything even remotely related to the department they will head. - Loyalty: They are fiercely loyal to Trump (cont.) 6/ They will be the furthest thing from an "adult in the room". They will encourage Trump's worst instincts and implement policies without regard for legality or fallout. - Destruction: Several are strongly against the very purpose of the departments they will head. 7/ Now to the relevance part. Conservatives love to point to Venezuela and say "see, socialism destroyed the country", but it wasn't socialism, it was nepotism and incompetence. 8/ When Chavez first came into power, they nationalized the oil industry and other key industries. For a while, Venezuela thrived and became a very prosperous country. Then, to consolidate power, Chavez began appointing family members and loyalists to every position. 9/ He appointed an incompetent family member to oversee the oil industry. Venezuela's primary source of revenue and prosperity. That family member had no experience in the oil industry or in managing anything. 10/ Instead of using the revenue to maintain and expand the oil industry, he used it to buy up other companies, such as newspapers, so he could justify giving himself an ever increasing salary because he was "managing" more businesses. 11/ As a result, the oil industry fell into disrepair and revenues dropped dramatically. In addition, he didn't know how to run a newspaper or any other business, so they all crumbled as well. 12/ Once the oil revenues dropped, there was no money to repair the equipment, leading to further drops in revenue for both the industry and the country. Since the industry had been nationalized, there were no foreign investors willing to bail it out. 13/ That is how Venezuela collapsed economically, despite having one of the largest oil reserves in the world. Incompetent people being put in charge of key institutions and rotting them out from the inside. 14/ That is what bad/incompetent governance does. There is a reason why the ultra-wealthy, such as Bezos and Buffett are cashing out of the stock market. They know a crash is coming. Grossly incompetent governance can only go one way. Congratulations America! 15/end9 points
