  2. Parker Thune (OU Rivals mod) on Fasusi “Yeah, he’s expected at Texas this weekend and let’s just say the vibes are not great. Not great at all. And needless to say, if he were to decommit, that might have a major ripple effect with this class. He’s too good and too prominent for that not to be the case. This came as a shock to people in the Switzer Center, too, which is never a good sign.”

  9. DEI covers a broad area but it's become the boogey man to the Right. Don't get me wrong I've seen a few DEI initiatives in the private sector that I don't fully understand but it's not always about race or LGBT items. My current employer previously had unpaid internships in the summer for college students. The DEI dept is the one who recognized a problem and pushed a change because the unpaid aspect was deemed exclusionary for students who came from lower income background. They needed paid jobs in the summer and the company's unpaid policy encouraged kids with well-off parents to apply for internships. Now we only offer paid internships and have a more economically diverse group of summer interns. Seemed like a good DEI decision to me. The rich interns get the same pay.

  10. protip: if a video on youtube, twitter, etc... has any use of the words "DESTROYS" or "DEMOLISHES" or "WRECKS" or "DEVASTATES" or "DISMANTLES" or "ANNIHILATES" in the title (particularly if it is all caps), it can more than likely be summarily ignored.

  12. The military is uniquely unsuited for this role, which is why DJT wants to bring them in. First, it will ferret out the internal opponents and fence-sitters. A lot of the officers who might get tasked with this will just resign. Second, he wants to make the most powerful and important agency complicit. Authoritarians are well aware that this is the type of thing that can cause blowback later. He wants to ensure no one has “clean hands” and that they see MAGAs continued rule as essential to their own future. We are far down the authoritarian path.

  13. It’s been a long three weeks to finally getting my hands on this buck. As I mentioned in an earlier post, we started getting pictures of our 2 target bucks this year about 4 weeks ago. On 11/2, the wind was right for both my son and I to sit for both of these bucks. About 5:20, my son texted me that he arrowed his buck good. Then, my buck made an appearance 10 minutes later. I was able to put an arrow in him but I knew my shot was a little higher than I would have liked. I wanted to give my buck some time so I was able to go help my son look for his deer. We trailed blood through some thick cactus in the dark but eventually lost the blood trail. At that point, we made the call to see if we could get some canine assistance with the search. The dogs found my son’s buck in about 5 minutes. Afterwards, we went looking for my buck. We found some blood and the dogs trailed blood for over 1000 yards before losing the trail. At about 1 am, it was clear we weren’t finding that buck. After a sleepless night, we went back out and searched for another 4 hours with only a pair of axis sheds to show for the effort. I was back out at the ranch the next weekend with a group of friends and was able to check the game cameras. Fortunately, my deer was back on camera. However, my main goal this weekend was guiding a friend to his first deer. He had a successful weekend with a doe and nice buck. Fortunately, I wouldn’t have guiding responsibilities this weekend and would get back out to hunt. On Sunday morning, I was able to put another arrow in him with a much better spot. After waiting 30 minutes, I climbed down off the tripod and looked at him laying in the road 25 yards away. These 3 weeks have been a roller coaster of epic proportions. I was elated for my son and absolutely in despair worried that I mortally wounded him without finding him in the brush. Both of these deer are personal bests for us with a bow and my deer is the new ranch record at 194 inches. I’m still pulling cactus thorns from that original search 3 weeks ago. In the end, it was worth it. We have multiple years of history in watching these deer. We almost culled my sons deer as a 3 year old because he didn’t have any brow tines. We were extremely lucky that we didn’t make that call. Here’s my son’s deer: Here’s my buck:

  15. Lacey will not come close to Russell as a college player, but Russell will have a much better career at Bama than he would have had in Austin due to the QBs in front and behind him at each school. If we had switched to Russell, we might have no picked up Dia Bell. Russell has the potential to be amazing. Lacey doesn’t. FULL DISCLOSURE: I have never watched either player play, or even watched their highlights.

The watermarked "BlueATLGeorgia" video rip of a national news segment, which then was ripped by "Democratic Wins Media" (LOL), where Trump is "demolished" by 1 minute of a calm recounting of his appointments. Check off another "Democratic Win"! Hope that user made 2-3 dollars for that post! ENGAGEMENT, BABY. So fucking glad I got off Twitter.

  18. Last year we looked really bad against Houston. Nearly lost to KState. Needed an AD miracle catch to close out TCU. After all that frustration, we absolutely handled business against Tech and Oklahoma State, looking like a top team to end the season. I'm predicting the same for this year. The team is going to peak at the right time and curb stomp Kentucky and A&M.

  20. If it's the 6:30 kick, we should just drive over in the morning. I'm sure that's a non-starter, but I'm still pissed at the fiasco those jackasses created. Major got food poisoning, the hotel mysteriously failed to provide breakfast, a whole bunch of our players were harassed by phone during the night. And yet our band still went out and set a bar for class those dipshits could never match.

  21. Dammit I just rewatched that footage of our band playing "Amazing Grace" in total deference to the magnitude of the day and when I think back as to how those fuckwads treated our team I want to roll into Kyle and beat the shit out of those assholes. God I hate Texas A&M.

  22. Some real insightful analysis in here. If everything goes as badly as it could possibly go we could lose. Y'all make Desmond Howard seem like a football savant. And all this pants-wetting about the toughest environment in the history of the world. Give me a break. As if 2011 when a much less talented Texas team beat a similarly talented A&M team when those yokels thought they were playing us for the last time ever didn't happen. Their stadium gets pretty loud. Ooh, scary.

  29. UK fan here. UK has one decent player on offense (WR Dane Key) and the other starters are bad. UK's defense was solid for the first half of the year but with injuries and the incompetence of the offense I think they quit at the Florida game. UK's best DL Deone Walker sat out yesterday's game and I wouldn't be surprised if he sits out the final 2 games because why risk your draft status for a crap team that's going nowhere and a coach that quit before the season started. Texas winning 70-0 would help us get Stoops overpaid whiny fat ass out of here.

  30. 25 years ago. poor taste jokes are acceptable at some point. people make jokes about brian kelly killing a student but no one else can do the same with A&M killing students? As far as I know, no one was ever held accountable.

  32. But I thought there were no off-weeks in the SEC. I thought an "easy schedule" was impossible in the SEC because every game is a fucking war. Was that not true? Is Finebaum now saying that a trip to Vanderbilt and a trip to Arkansas are, in fact, easy? Because if so, that'd be news to Alabama and Tennessee, respectively.

  33. ATACMS was only authorized for use in the Kursk area, where North Korean troops have been deployed, - Axios The motivation behind the decision was to deter North Korea from sending more troops to Russia for the war against Ukraine. U.S. officials hope that if North Koreans troops in Kursk are hit, Pyongyang might review its decision to send troops to Russia and the Russian counterattack in Kursk will fail.

  35. LSU is poor and the House case payouts coming down the chute will make them even poorer. There are a whole bunch of schools staring that reality down and they’re not making changes and can’t make changes, including UF, Arkansas, OU, USC and so on. Now is not the same at it ever was. Shit has gotten real on the NIL side and House makes that crazier. Places can’t just “find the money”. One obvious area ripe for change, and Sexton isn’t going to be able to do a damned thing about it, is coach buyouts. Programs are getting squeezed from all sides and they’re going to value players first. Jimbo Fisher buyouts became the rage and now those things are viewed as toxic.

  36. At this point I’m just telling myself that Sark built this team with Ewers as the center point and leader, and the team is riding or dying with that formula. It seems clear to me that culturally, Sark finally has the team he wants, and he isn’t gonna mess with all of that as long as we are winning. By most accounts I’ve seen or heard, Quinn is a good dude and well liked by his teammates. If the team feels invested in his success, then that would explain Sark sticking with him despite having dicks for feet and abysmal pocket presence.
