  3. Yes, making the playoffs is great, but we had a chance to make history, winning the conference in our 1st year, didn't do it. Those are the sort of achievements you get to crow about for life. You need to be upset about letting things like that slip through the fingers

  6. My Dearest Family, I pen this letter from the heart of Aggieland, a place as curious as it is captivating. Today, we journeyed to College Station, adorned in burnt orange and pride, prepared to face the Aggie faithful in their own land. Yet what awaited us was not the hostility of rivals but the kindness of kinfolk. Lost amidst a sea of maroon, we wandered in search of Kyle Field, that grand fortress of Aggie football. It was then that a gentleman, clad in the uniform of their traditions—a cowboy hat, boots, and that peculiar ring they all seem to wear—approached us with a smile as warm as the Texas sun. “Y’all need help finding the stadium?” he asked, as though we were old friends. And help us he did, walking us halfway there, all the while regaling us with tales of Aggie lore: their Reveille mascot, the mystical Midnight Yell, and their curious practice of calling themselves "the 12th Man." Others joined along the way, each more eager than the last to share directions, handshakes, and even recommendations for the best brisket in town. One kind soul handed me a bottle of water and said with a grin, “Y’all Longhorns are in for a treat today. But don’t worry—we’ll go easy on you.” By the time we reached the stadium gates, I confess my burnt orange heart wavered. How could one not be moved by such camaraderie? For a fleeting moment, I found myself wishing to join their cheers of “Gig ‘em” and to partake in their swaying Aggie War Hymn. As the game began, the rivalry returned, fierce and unrelenting, but I could not forget their kindness. It seems that in the heart of Texas, even amidst the fiercest of rivalries, hospitality still reigns supreme. Though my loyalty lies forever with the Longhorns, a small part of me now holds a soft spot for the Aggies and their welcoming ways. Should our paths cross again in the future, it will be with the respect of worthy rivals and the warmth of newfound friends. Yours with burnt orange pride, yet a maroon-tinged heart, William Lambdin Prather

  11. There's a lot of shit that didn't go our way, most of it was our doing. - Play calling was shitty when it matter. - UGA D is fast and disciplined, which is kryptonite for some of Sarks' calls/designs - We couldn't run worth a shit - Golden/Bond/whoever drops that dime in the end zone in the 1st half - Bert missed 2 field goals - We repeatedly shot ourselves in the dick in the 1st half with dipshit penalties, some of it was the refs - On Barron's interception late in the 4th, if Guilbeau isn't an idiot celebrating and blocks the UGA TE, Barron scores and we win - GAs TD drive had 2 fumbles which they recovered (luck is sometimes a bitch) The team has to be pissed about this loss. I'm hoping they use the anger to roll through the playoffs.

  19. In a sense it’s fine, we probably outplayed them, but in another sense it’s a fucking disaster and we’re not winning four games with Quinn at QB. I don’t even know if Arch is actually better right now, but I am 100% confident that we do not win a national championship with that wet blanket starting.

  20. Ever since it happened, I've been puzzled by how a seemingly pretty mortal Georgia team came in to Austin and beat us by double digits. I wanted to refresh my memory on what happened, and understand what it means for our rematch tomorrow. So I bit the bullet and rewatched the entire thing, taking a lot of notes. What follows is a drive-by-drive recap and my takeaways. First off, here's the game on YouTube: 1st Half Drives: 2nd Half Drives: OK, so what did I learn from subjecting myself to this? I thought we were physically outmatched on the OL, but it wasn't as bad as I remembered. A lot of the pressure they got on Quinn was due to intelligent blitz schemes, or miscommunications on our part. They also did a good job of keeping tight coverage and limiting Quinn's options. That said, Quinn did not play well. His interception was a bad throw, and he got away with a couple others. He threw at covered receivers several times. He was responsible for the self-sack deep in our own end, which really hurt us. There were a couple of opportunities for him to scramble for yardage that he didn't take. Mykel Williams in particular played absolutely out of his mind. We had no answer for him. Special teams hurt us and really contributed to the field position difference. I think we got too cute at times with the horizontal passing and running game. I feel like we saw this some against aggy as well. Georgia's defense was too fast to be beaten like that. They capitalized on our turnovers, and we largely couldn't on theirs, with the exception of the 3rd quarter interception. A big reason is because almost all of the turnovers happened deep in our end of the field. Our D can play with them. They had one sustained drive (that admittedly came at a crucial time), and that's about it. I feel somewhat better about tomorrow after rewatching. A lot of the negative things that we did can and should be cleaned up. We need Quinn to take care of the ball, special teams to not be a net negative, and Sark to not get too reliant on the east-west game, and we'll be ok. I expect that going into a hostile environment at College Station last weekend and coming away with the W will help our guys not feel like the moment is too big for them. Hook 'em, fuck Georgia, ou sucks, let's fucking go.

  21. I was looking through some stat stuff for the game this morning and I noticed something that I found was kind of remarkable. I know a lot of people have given Pete K his flowers for the defense this season, but here's something I found kind of crazy. There's a stat guru named Parker Fleming (statsowar on socials) and he defines quality possessions as getting to the opposing 40 or scoring a long touchdown. Texas has the second lowest quality possessions allowed rate in the country despite ranking 70th in the country in starting field position on defense (19 giveaways and ranking 129th in FBS in net punting is bad apparently). Despite the fact that our offense and special teams have put the defense in tough spots this year those fellas have answered the call and then some. Let's not turn the ball over and give Georgia short fields and go kick their asses today.

  24. 100% on sark. he is in love with himself. hes a bad play caller he insists on those fucking long developing plays where quinn has to turn his back to the defense, or double fake reverse screen passes. Someone needs to set him down and tell him to stop ttrying to be so cute all the fucking time. hes not fooling anyone

  26. The weird thing is that there was no discussion, at all, nationally about *why* those bottles were thrown, which is absolutely part of the story. Nope, Texas kids are spoiled brats who don't know how to behave when the refs are raping their beloved team repeatedly. Aren't they just the worst? Fuck 'em all. Let's win the whole thing and celebrate right in everybody's face.

  28. ‘Twas the night before the SEC Championship, and all through the South, Not a Longhorn was silent, burnt orange pouring from their mouth. The banners were hung in Atlanta with care, In hopes that a trophy soon would be there. The Aggies were nestled, alone in their beds, While dreams of “next year” danced in their heads. Since joining the SEC, they’d tried every way, But still found themselves at home on game day. When out on the field, there arose such a clatter, The Longhorns stormed in—it was their moment that mattered! Away to the stadium, we flew like a flash, Hook ’Em signs glowing, a sea of burnt sash. The moon on the helmets of freshly cut grass, Showed the Longhorns were here to kick some SEC… class. When what to our wondering eyes should appear, But Bevo himself, with a championship near! With a swagger and grit, so proud and so quick, We knew in that moment this wasn’t a trick. More rapid than touchdowns, our victory came, And we whistled and shouted and called them by name: “Now Ewers! Now Manning! Now Bond, and Brooks! On, defense! On, O-line! Let’s rewrite the books! To the top of the conference, to the heights of it all, Now dash away, dash away, dash away y’all!” And down on the sideline, ol’ Aggie did stare, With a tear in their eye and a defeated glare. “First year in the SEC, and they’re already there?” Their maroon hopes dashed, like they never could dare. The Longhorns played like legends, their legacy grew, While Aggies were stuck still chanting “Whoop!” with no clue. For a dozen long seasons, they’d tried and they’d fought, But the SEC promised more than it brought. Then Bevo exclaimed, as we took home the crown, “Hook ’Em, y’all! We own this town! So enjoy your oil money and second-rate fame, While Texas keeps winning championship games!” And as the Longhorns rode off in the SEC night, Aggie muttered to themselves, “Well… at least we’re polite.”

  29. Hey bitch, I’ve seen my fair share of shitty QB okay. That first interception was on Bond. Go watch the play. What is Quinn supposed to do when when the quits the route and loses sight of the balls. What about the dime he threw to Golden that hit his hands that he dropped? Was that his fault too? That 7 right there. What about the 6 points Auburn cost us? What about the 7 sacks? Did he cause Jake Majors and Devon Campbell to get beat repeatedly. How about the 30ish yards we had rushing? Was that his fault too? We played Georgia, probably the most talented roster in college football. A team that matches very well with us. We played on the road with our LT out. Quinn is 24-4 as a starter. Does he have flaws? Ofcourse. Is he the reason we lost this game, not even fucking close. Did you start watching Texas football last year? Bc I’ve seen this team win national championships and I’ve seen that lose to fucking Kansas. I know a shit QB when I see one which Quinn is far from. The team that won with a “projected” 1st round QB played an absolutely horrible game. Have some fucking perspective, go smoke a joint, and enjoy this season. We’re about to host a game in the playoffs and there is maybe 1 team that is a bad match up for us. Don’t be a bitch.

  30. Jesus, please stop. We won in Tuscaloosa. We won in Ann Arbor. We won in College Station. We've won two of the last three in blowout fashion against ou. We won a conference championship game last year. And we were one play from the national championship game. We lose twice to Georgia with a gimpy QB and a bunch of ref fuckery and now Sark can't win a big game? GTFOH.

  31. Lots of idiots on this board. Saw Quinn hit Golden in the hands for a TD which he dropped. Saw him throw Gunner for a TD where he ran a bad route and we got called for holding. Say Bond quit on a play that caused an interception. Saw Moore drop 2 passes that hit him in the hands. OL gave up too many sacks, too many holds. Special teams missed two 40 yard FGs. Special teams gave up a fake punt. Defense played lights out but let a back up QB drive on us. I also say Quinn throw dimes to get us out of 3rd and long multiple times. Quinn played well enough for us to win considering the dude has a bum ankle. The reality is that we could not finish drives and if we make even 1 of the 2 missed FGs, we win this game.
