Finkley is a strong kid, reportedly brilliant and a hard worker, just not blessed with much natural explosion, flexibility, quickness, bend, etc., that help players in that role succeed at the highest levels (in. which we participate). Others have passed him on the depth chart. What he represented at the time of his recruitment was a beacon call to the powers that be in the southeast that Texas would recruit top players in that area and could win them. His family is top notch, and our message of future success and a strong positive culture resonated with them, and we won his recruitment. Smart people saw our promise. I’m quite gruntled Dr. Finkley is still saying good things about us, as it confirms they aligned with the right people: it just didn’t work out optimally, and it’s best for Justice to give it a shot elsewhere. I suspect we’ll all be rooting for him.30 points

I’m still pulling for us to get more transfers even if it means I’m subjected to handjob jokes every time we get a commit. In a way that makes me the truest Longhorn fan on here.27 points

If Kern shows up wearing a black face shield and never takes his helmet off while averaging 5-10 more yards per punt in a week, no one question it.27 points

What if someone had told you that 13 years later, the Yankees still wouldn't have won a World Series?27 points

I signed up for “this” site in 2011. I wonder what I would’ve thought if someone came up to me then and said “you know one day there’s going to be over 5 pages in a thread on here about you giving handjobs for defensive tackle transfers”.26 points

This thread has been an abortion since the Georgia game this year. Quinn got shit on and dunked on hard, including by me, after a game where he shit down his leg and fucking imploded mentally. We are obviously beyond that, but the lingering feelings from that game are persistent in the posts from the same people. I don't really know how to get this thread to be productive of back on track. It isn't "hornsfans" all over again to not have a bunch of threads exclusively shitting on and talking shit about a player. I'm not sitting here saying you can't criticize quinn, but I did step in and say you can't just come in over the top and just talk shit about quinn outside of football criticisms, which was happening a lot and not really what we want to be about or have a huge thread on. I'm not asking for sunshine pumper or blind loyalty posts, but at some point you have to turn the temperature down on the conversation. I think it's universally accepted that no one wants quinn go come back for his 5th year season at Texas. A lot of that has to do with the future of Arch Manning and the implications of him leaving if quinn returns. Right now Quinn and the rest of the team are preparing to go win 4 games in a row against the ACC Champion, the Big XII champion and the B1G champ or a Tennessee team that is pretty good. Then a rematch against the SEC champ or ND or another team who has beaten other very good teams. Nothing about this season matters. Playoffs everyone is 0-0 and it's win or go home. So far quinn is 0-1 in the post season, let's all hope it's 4-1 when it's all said and done for him this year.23 points

so 9 people + me stepped up to commit 2k per share for this. We had a 20k budget and breakeven was 200 people at 100 each. Something we've done a bunch of times before and isn't really that crazy especially for a premium post season matchup between 2 teams that have never played and it's a crazy game. I don't feel comfortable with 7 tickets sold spending for a party to feed 200, as you have to make the buys and commit a week in advance then spend a week hoping or taking "whatever" people wanna pay to make up whatever cost we can. "but just drop the price, $100 is steep around Christmas" First off, it's a fucking CFP game tailgate with PRIME RIB AND UNLIMITED OPEN BAR, it's good value and we aren't making money on it. Second off, if we dropped the price to 50 or even 60 we would need to sell 400 tickets or scale the tailgate way down and at the point of scaling the tailgate down you still keep the same $35ish per head in just the spot/tent/coolers/whatever. That leaves 15 bucks per person for food and booze. That's fucking impossible. and it would still require a ton of work and stress on my part to make it happen.18 points

CJ Vogel wrote this, last part seems like a hint: On the note of Texas adding a punter – Bobby Burton added the nugget this morning that Texas was able to get former P Michael Dickson on the phone yesterday with Utah portal P Jack Bouwmeester, a cool piece of recruiting behind the scenes. I was told the visit went well on Saturday and that there is momentum here. I am hopeful to go fully in depth about the visit details, say... early afternoon today.16 points

I’m not the first to say this, but I do think Clemson being the opponent instead of SMU will help with focus(ness). Our guys came of age when Clemson was a machine, and I do think that means something.16 points

ATM’s 247 mods are touting their returning roster and projected portal adds. They’re similar to many other site mods in which they view the portal as some sort of isolated location where only they get to plumb its treasures. They’re so disadvantaged that it’s not even funny. What do these idiots really have to sell? College Station? The Elk? NIL like everyone else? The SEC like 15 others? It’s not clear. On the rosters, they return: -A mid QB -A recovering TB; another recovering TB; a mid TB -Noah Thomas, Terry Bussey and Jaggers -TE: Swedish Jag -OL: Zuhn? The KU center who was okay and Bisontits -DT: Hicks, Regis, someone else? -DE: nope -LB: Jaguarean York and Scooby DooJag -CB: Lee, Chappell, a number of guys named Bob -S: Bryce Anderson and Dalton Brooks That’s returning a bunch of guys, sure. I don’t know if that’s a group that gets you to 6-6 against that schedule.14 points

You've got over 20 million in savings and aren't retiring? I'm not going to question your life choices, even though I have questions. But I am going to question your lack of Burnt Ends and Tree Fiddy swag on your profile, you chincy fuck.14 points

A better question to ask yourself is why do you feel the need to continually insult (in a very childish way) of the key players of the team that you purportedly support? This site has key partnerships with current athletes at UT, including football players. We sponsor athletes to appear at our tailgates. I have spent time with Quinn and encouraged him to visit our site, which I am very proud of. I have no problem with you posting comments about how we can be better, but your mind-numbingly childish insults reflect poorly on you and the rest of us. Please think about that before you post. Thanks.14 points

You gave it a shot and it is appreciated. Just enjoy the play-off game with your son and let folks say what they are going to say when only you know what it takes to get this done.12 points
