For lack of a better place to post about this, leopards are eating a portion of familyβs face. The great civil war has begun and I have dealt the first blow. We host the annual family Christmas, but this year we have told those that are known Trump idiots to stay home. I also have younger cousins dating Trump supporters and weβve told them they are also not welcomed. We decided itβs time to stop pretending we can get along with these people. It is causing all sorts of strife, but Iβm here for it.34 points

They allowed Josh Heupel at Ohio State's stadium. I don't see the distinction.30 points

Golden might make more by coming back and building on what heβs doing than going into the draft. The replacement cost for him is significant. Iβm hoping they retain him and thatβs that at WR. Williams has been working out with the team already, albeit non-contact. He was looking good ahead of the injury. If you just go through the exercise of asking yourself if you believe that Texas is going to head into next season short: a seasoned WR, a solid three deep at DT, a solid three deep at RB. I donβt. History says theyβll be fine. FWIW, it sounds like they feel good about where things go from here in this transfer cycle.30 points

My 8 and 6 year old daughters were having the time of their lives. I parked in west campus and walked to the stadium. 1.) I pointed out all the buildings as we crossed campus that I went into and told them what was inside. 8 year old: Daddy this is like a tour! We didnβt know we were getting a tour too! 2.) Bevo Blvd and the midway food was great. Girls loved watching the band go into the stadium while eating a burger 3.) Girls were kind of confused on the first chant of Texas and fight while walking up to our seats in the ramps to the upper deck. So I instantly belt out βtex.. usssss!β And when every one yelled βfightβ their eyes lit up like I was a super hero. Of course when we got to the OU sucks part their eyes went wider as they are not allowed to say βsucksβ at the house. 4.) They loved the pregame flyover 5.) The actual game was the low point for them. 6.) Drone show killed 7.) I made them sing the eyes or at least hold up their horns during it. 8.) Iβm pretty sure throughout the game a whole bucket of popcorn was consumed by each. Plus a box of m&ms in each of their popcornsβ¦. Then the dip and dotsβ¦. And a pretzel. So when at 1:30 am I woke up to crying and two kids that independently puked the bed, I knew that I flew ever too closely to the sun on a completely badass day. There are no free lunches. And chocolate puke mixed with popcorn kernels is not fun to rinse and pretreat before throwing into the washer. I can do without that again.26 points

Look, if it makes you guys feel better to buy in to this stadium configuration bullshit, then be my guest. Whatever helps you sleep at night. But open your eyes! Itβs a big fat fucking lie. Maybe, just maybe, we can look beyond the surface to see whatβs really going on here: Chick-fil-A is the sponsor and theyβre running the Peach Bowl with their hard core anti-beef agenda. The Deep Poultry State will go to any length to protect its own interests. Starting, obviously, with banning Bevo from the sidelines. You know it and I know it: Big Chicken hates everything that Bevo represents. Namely, hamburgers. And steaks. And brisket. And a bunch of other delicious shit that isnβt shitty ass chicken. They live in fear of what having Bevo on the sideline would do to them. Maybe we could appease them if we hung one of those denigrating βEat Mor Chikinβ signs around his neck? Maybe then they would be more inclined to put on their big girl panties and take out a seat or two so we can fit our beloved cow into the stadium? You think that ad campaign was an accident? Fuck. All. That. If they outlaw mascots only outlaws will have mascots.25 points

So Skittebo is going to run all over The Texas Longhorns. Apparently we don't play defense, we barely play offense, and it would seem if Texas were still in the b12 they would not even be in this game. Good Lord surly is full of absolute pussies.17 points

it was funny when he made the stop on 3rd down against aggy, herbstreit didn't know his name and just called him #15. that guy has been instrumental in 2 huge goal line stands and I bet 90% of our fans have no idea who he is or where he's from.14 points

My 10yr old son had 2 orders of nachos, popcorn, a bag of cotton candy, and a box of sour patch kids. We capped it off with taco bell on the way home. You only get to go full savage when momma isn't there. He did not throw up thankfully. I told him he is going to eat greens and clean food for a week to makeup for it. He had a blast. Yolo shit for sure.11 points

Okay let me come clean. I posted earlier but I think I've distilled it better now. I kind of beat my uncle's ass earlier tonight. In front of my granddad's house. He had been talking a ton of shit all night and at one point crossed the line by saying some shit about me and my dad. I'm just not sure about posting it here because it's pretty fucking nasty still and honestly I feel like someone in my family could still potentially shoot and kill me. Idk. I guess I feel slightly safer by airing it out. Happy Holidays.11 points

Not to mention our special teams coordinator gets paid as much or more than some D2 head coaches. I like Banks as a recruiter, but special teams have been hit or miss for sure. Itβs been a bad year, yes. I canβt really blame him for auburn reverting to shit, or kern being injured. If it is a trend next year then Iβll start to pay attention, otherwise itβs a fluke imo.11 points

I apologize for the video. I couldn't find a full game copy anywhere so had to rip a few plays. @Dahobbswas explaining a little bit of this to a fellow poster. ZSo thanks to him for getting the ball rolling. Let's get this out of the way right now. For those of you that didn't think Dabo was a good coach we just all fucked around and found out on Sat-ur-dee. Ole ball coach played us like a fiddle. They had a lovely opening script capped off with a double pick that we actually helped with but we will get to that in a minute. They got on the board first and then Sark and PK proceeded to drag their balls on Clemson's facemask by going on a 31-3 run. The offense did it's thing but PK's defense settled in and stymied the Clemson offense. However Dabo, as championship coaches do, found something. He sped up their offense when he got the right defensive personnel on the other side. Two things that did. We lost our pass rush because the guys caught in the game aren't the type that gets pressure. Second, when a defense is sped up they scrap the exotics and stick to simplistic defensive schemes like man v man or basic zone schemes. So by doing that they could slow our pass rush and manipulate our secondary. To do that your coaches have to be pretty savvy and have a QB with full command of the passing offense. So we shouldn't see that too often so we can all relax. If we do then PK is a dumb ass for falling for the same trick twice. So let's get into it shall we? I mean what the hell were the refs looking at here. First thing first I am wondering if this was a mistake by our secondary here to start. I know we are in man but instead of letting the routes tell us which man we are taking Barron and Guilbeau cross streams and allow the TE/Barron route to pick Guilbeau. The TE is literally blocking Barron well past the five yard mark for a pass that is being thrown past the line of scrimmage. Guilbeau is already out of position only to be physically blocked a second time, again for a pass thrown past the line. To miss an illegal pick once is bad but two times on the same play? Come on refs. 1.mp410 points

I don't disagree. It's a bit strange that some people here are bewildered that Texas fans would have an issue with Bevo not being able to attend but then also have an issue with a suggestion that there just be a blanket rule that live mascots only attend home games. Do they matter or not? If I were just trying to be spiteful then I'd suggest that Texas institute a rule specific to dogs and men dressed like milk men.9 points

True but if you're superstitious it bodes well. A week ago surly was full of predictions that there was no way Texas could score 30 points on Clemson. I mean had anyone even watched our offense the last few games? We would be lucky to get to 20. Three drives into the game we had 21.9 points

I donβt think there is a dedicated Belgium thread, and I spent a week there earlier this month, so figured Iβd make a thread. This was kid-free trip with the wife to drink Belgian beer, eat Belgian food, and check out some European Christmas markets. Flew Houston to Chicago to Brussels, arriving Friday morning. Took train from airport to Bruxelles Central Station and walked about 1/4 mile to check into Hotel Agora Bruxelles Grand Place. Hotel is about 2 short blocks from the Grand Place, which is cool to look at, but not much to do there other than check out the Christmas light show at night. We avoided the tourist trap cafes surrounding it. After checking in, we walked through Grand Place and then had lunch at a cheese & wine shop called La Fruitiere, followed by a Taras Boulba and Drie Fonteinen Kriek at Moeder Lambic, an absolute must-visit beer bar. Next stop was Cantillon, where we did the self-guided tour, followed by tasting in their little taproom. Back to hotel to nap and then set out again to have a couple beers at Brussels Beer Project before dinner. BBP is like a modern American taproom focusing on small batch beers, including hazy IPAs. Beers were good, but not what I travelled to Belgium for. Croquettes, mussels, and frites at La Marre and then some quads at Poechenellekelder, an awesome old beer bar with walls covered in creepy marionettes. will follow up with much more8 points

Was grousing a bit and letting myself feel blue because this Christmas is the first when we won't get to be together with our kids. The boy is doing his college year abroad in Germany, and couldn't get his student visa (necessary to be able to leave and then re-enter Germany) in time to come home for Christmas. Fortunately, we have a family in Germany who have become family to us, and both of our kids are together and spending Christmas with them. And we'll be heading over in a week or so for a "second Christmas" all together in Germany. So, it's a good thing. But as I was grousing in my own head, I remembered the reason why -- he couldn't get his visa because the German immigration system and offices are clogged with a backlog of processing Ukrainian war refugees. They are spending Christmas (probably not for the first time in this almost 3 year old war) away from their homeland, away from those who were left behind, under the cloud of war and death. So....our little hiccup is just that, a hiccup. Wishing and hoping that their Christmas gift is some sort of victory, and some sort of secure peace, in the new year.8 points
