  1. I'm rooting for ND, but it isn't for the fucking lulz. On a surface level, the playoff looks like more of a success if one of the Powers of the last decade don't win it. MIchigan last year was great, but going back to Ohio State this year can fuck right off. I'd say the same thing for GA, Alabama, even Clemson, etc. On a much more visceral level, I dont really want Ohio State boosters getting a good ROI in their fucking NIL investment. We don't need those fuckers feelng incented to keep throwing around 25-30 million a year in NIL.

  3. Muhammad and Trey Moore are back. Texas lost guys they were fine losing or guys they flat out told to head elsewhere for better opportunities. There's one guy yet to announce who is going to inflict pain for us as fans. I'm assuming, still, that it is either DWilliams or Niblack, but who the hell knows? It wasn't a starter but it is apparently a big name. While Williams started, given that he's been out for months, I'm assuming they're not counting him as a starter if he's the guy being referenced.

  7. On the subject of rosters for 2025 and transfer impacts and such, things look wildly dark for Georgia. Transfers out - 13 players including starters at QB, CB (benched for attitude and his replacement sucked and the mods are pissed he went to ATM) and WR-ish in Evans, plus Damon Wilson (was inked in as a starter for 2025). Transfers in - 6 - Branch brothers, Noah Thomas, 2 mediocre safeties besides the Branch mediocrity, and an also-ran TB from Vandy The losses for this team are insane: -QB Beck, gone -Etienne, gone -All 3 starting WRs and 2 heavily played backups, gone -TE, Yurosek is gone -4 of the 5 starting OL, gone -All DTs, including an AA, gone -DEs/Edges, gone -LBs including an AA, all gone -S, including an AA, both gone -K, gone They return the backup QB, the TB Frazier (who was a far cry from Etienne's capabilities), Delp at TE, the RT who played LT against ND and got repeatedly beaten (1 of 2, the other one is gone now), 2 CBs (one is Harris, who their board is saying the staff needs to replace), and a punter. That's 4 real starters from their 22, a ST guy and a couple of key back-ups. I know everyone assumes Georgia just reloads, and I think they'll be good, but they're not a top 10 team without something crazy in the spring. Apparently, their NIL backers and really fatigued and the fact that they just won two titles isn't helping on that front.

  10. Ohio State went all in for 2024. I have spoken directly to a number of second tier donors (tier below Wexner and a few others) regarding the 2024 spending flurry. Almost everyone basically contributed their limit under significant pressure. Ohio State will obviously remain a big NIL player but many of these guys have little interest in annually replicating the 2024 effort particularly since they will probably walk away with the title and they were told this was a bit of a one off. That said, it would have been better for everyone else if they had beaten Michigan. It will be very interesting to see how much NIL endurance donors ultimately have. Can Ohio State much less the likes of Ole Miss do this annually or will donor bases jump in strategically when the HS recruits on the roster justify a big NIL push for a particular season. Ellison, Phil Knight and Wexner are all 80+ and could die next week. The depth of the NIL donor base will prove to be incredibly important for sustainability and Texas is possibly without peer in terms of donor depth.

  27. This. We are in the golden age of narcissists, and how more people don't see this blazing neon sign of narcissism baffles me. It's fucking insane and pathetic. Elon Musk is a loser in every single aspect of life save one: he has lots of money. That's it. Take his money away, and 99% of humanity would be giving him wedgies and laughing in his face. We shouldn't bully nerds. We should bully and destroy malevolent nerds relentlessly and without remorse.

  29. Good stuff. I'm surprised he has Phillips #2 overall in the class. He's a physical freak, but there's uncertainty over his position and fit. Seems like too much of a question to have him as 5 star and #2 in the top overall class. Not sure what you mean about Lance Jackson being low. He's #3 overall in the top class in the country, meaning Gerry probably has him as top 15 or 20 player in the whole country. I agree on his upside. I could see him being a more explosive version of Alfred Collins, except he won't take 4 or 5 years to reach Collins' level this year. The WR takes this year are interesting. Ffrench and Lockett are good. I'd probably swap them and have Lockett higher. I think he has enough speed to be elite when combined with his size, quickness, and ability to make contested catches. Neither Ffrench or Lockett have the elite speed that Sark usually goes after. Wingo might be the only guy getting a lot of snaps next year who has the speed Sark usually covets. It could mean Sark is moving towards bigger targets who can make contested catches or these were just the guys he liked best this year. My guess is the latter, but it will be interesting to watch moving forward. Most people agreed DL was the biggest need for HS recruiting this year, and while it was a rollercoaster to get to NSD, we ended up with 3 elite prospects at DT. That's a massive win for the program. The odds all 3 of these guys hit are still low, and we need to keep stacking elite talent at DL, like tOSU and UGA do every year. OL will also be interesting. I agree with others on here that the recruiting services are generally bad at rating OL, but Flood has now gone 3 full recruiting classes of taking OL ranked outside the top 300 nationally, with Baker being the only exception. There's been a lot of trust placed in Flood over his evals the last three years, but the team's OL performance this year and the inability to find anyone on the roster who could play G at a high level this year really cost us in the run game and probably cost us a title this year. 2025 will be a huge year to see what he does with an OL of only guys he recruited. Our OL next year will need to time to develop, but if they're not playing at a high level by the end of the year it will lead to a lot of questions about Flood as an OL coach.

  30. well, my wife is now an orphan at 54 years old. Her mom passed away yesterday less than a week after my wife's dad passed. She was ailing too and hung on to see her husband pass, then she fell asleep that night and woke up only occasionally to eat ice cream. She passed very peacefully yesterday afternoon. She was a great mom, and an officer's wife following her husband from Crane, Texas to the military where she spent most of her time in San Diego or DC finishing up back in Texas in College Station. She was often left alone as her husband traveled for the Country and raised three daughters right by the looks of how dutiful and agreeable they were together in the final months of their parents' life. They will be buried together in San Antonio in a military funeral.

  32. That, and I would look forward to them eviscerating their coach all offseason who has a damn near 90% winning percentage and driving him to the NFL. tOSU much like Oklahoma seems to have been largely historically immune from bad hires with a few exceptions. Watching Oklahoma come to grips with the fact that they can actually fuck up has been fun. I would love to see tOSU go through a down cycle as well.

  35. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/texas-reveals-major-gpa-announcement-about-college-football-season/ar-AA1xkLuR Texas has a new team high 3.27 GPA. I guess Sark has figured out how to keep players eligible. "...The previous high came during the Tom Herman era, so clearly, Sarkisian has been able to elevate the program in all facets. According to Heather Dinich of ESPN, the team's GPA has gone up in each season that Sarkisian has been in Austin. In a May report, Dinich revealed that in Sarkisian's first season, when they finished 5-7, the Longhorns had a team GPA of 2.33. Both numbers saw a slight increase the following year as the team's record jumped to 8-5, while the GPA grew to 2.78. In 2023, the Longhorns went 12-2 and posted a GPA of 2.98. Based on this trend, Texas fans should expect more wins and maybe even higher GPAs in 2025."

  39. The whole thing reminded of the time when LotusHorn showed up on 247 and acted dead serious as he declared to the board, who waited on bated breath to read his "insider" analysis whenever he posted, that he'd discovered that closetojumping was Greg Davis. I had the same reaction when reading the punchline about Muhammad: Like that situation, I think whoever provided the news on Muhammad was just being fucked with by staff or agents or something. There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd. Are there some posts you've made somewhere on this site that you can link to that indicate that you aren't a total fucking moron? I'm trying real hard to keep my ignore list under 100, but the shit I've been reading from you lately is basically forcing my hand.
