Yes, we should hear what govt officials have to say about it. But we shouldn't have to hear what you or anyone else has to say about govt officials in this thread except when directly commenting on their direct comments or actions in relation to this event. Spew your hate for either side in CR where it belongs. The problem is Trump would definitely blame this shit on the biden administration if they were in charge. He has never let a good crisis go to waste politically. So complaining about the other side doing it appears quite a bit hypocritical. Sure this particular incident most likely had nothing to do with the shitshow going down since Trump took office, but at some point what is good for the goose is good for the gander. I mean, Trump has unabashedly been full of shit blaming a closed faucet from the PNW for the fires in LA, then trying to collect props for getting the military to open that faucet up, all complete and objective bullshit, but if you respond to that newsworthy bullshit as being bullshit, oh no , that needs to be in the Cloak Room. Fact is Trump has blurred a lot of lines, unfortunately the biggest is the american public's acceptance of basic verifiable facts, so it is not surprising when you might see some comments you find a tad too political bleed into the Daily Texan.41 points

I’m sure old chicken sammich was just appalled at how they reacted politically after the Baltimore bridge collapse. It’s all fair game now, the precedent is set, fuck your feelings.32 points

Anybody else remember Kelee Ringo spending his spring break in Austin only to sign with Georgia? We aren’t even close to squaring the account with those bag dropping assholes. I really hope the adjustment for those cheating dickbags to their new station in life is as painful as possible.32 points

Elected Rep. Andy Ogles was on the news questioning if DEI played a role. On. The. News. Totally not CR.31 points

I fully expect blacklab to come in here and “clean up” this thread in a bit after his and the other mods get inundated with DMs and reports from the pussies who get their fee fees hurt every time someone challenges their worldview If imamac allows that I will be very disappointed given the censorship occurring on other social media platforms and now even in legacy media (actual news dickheads). It’s beyond time people stop catering to them here and in real life. Don’t like it fuck off to TexAgs or SEC Rant or some other shitty website31 points

Meh. I was 100% for Harris but if we are going to do this I want the whole got-damned thing in flames in four years. I want it to be so bad that we run all the tech bros out of the country, get lobby money out of politics all together, and start taxing the rich again like it's 1972. I want us to be just as embarrassed of this time period as the Germans were about WW2. I want history to treat the Trump name like Voldemort. I want anyone with the name Trump to change it out of shame/fear of violence. The only way to get back to paying people livable wages is for the entire house of cards to come down. I would rather it be now than when my daughter is trying to raise a family and I am too old to help.21 points

That's interesting, because I find I don't give a fuck. I loathe the SEC. I loathe these hillbillies we're attached to. I'm so happy these neanderthal, incestual, deliverance style typecast collection of cavemen have already learned to hate our guts. In one year! Outstanding everyone! I appreciate the single-minded passion with which these hick town Walmart greeters approach college football, so we can rake in more money, travel to actual football stadiums rather than the wanna be high school tinker toys in the Big 12, and be more relevant in terms of the future of college football than we could ever be in the backwaters of the Big 12. But why in the world would you actually want to be associated with them? And I'll say Mizzou gets all kinds of shit for not really being a culture fit for the SEC. They don't win anything. I think there's a general, "what the fuck does Missouri add again?" attitude among other SEC fans. A&M is seen as a collection of weirdos, but let's face it. Demographically A&M and everything in Texas east of College Station/Bryan is an excellent cultural fit for the SEC. They've enjoyed ball gargling Alabama, Georgia, and LSU while those programs actually win something. Who can't appreciate a good BJ? I can understand why some of the SEC fans like keeping A&M around. They're like a good collie that's been neutered so they're less likely to pee on the shag carpet. One of my favorite parts of the season was going on the various SEC message boards and seeing all the different fan bases line up to compete with one another as to who wanted to see Texas lose the most in the playoffs, even after Tennessee and Georgia lost. The fuckwads thought they had some semblance of conference unity before. No program can unite a collection of fanbases quite like Texas and our ability to generate an incredible shared "anyone but Texas!" attitude among everyone. It's been fun seeing how quickly we've been able to spread the hate. I look forward to seeing it grow!19 points

Americans cited limited resources as a reason undocumented immigrants should be deported. Wow. While at the inauguration there were 5 men with nearly a combined $1 trillion dollars, who pay almost no tax whatsoever, and in return get nothing but free federal grant money and contracts in the billions, standing right behind the new president. Also there was a corrupt preacher Sewell, who afterwards started shilling his own pump and dump shit coin. And they blame immigrants for "limited resources". That's like getting pissed off the corporation you work for is cutting salaries by 30% and blaming it on the ladies that come overnight to clean the office building. The stupidity to even entertain something like this is revolting. I can't imagine a more Orwellian image than this past inauguration.17 points

Just fucking rename this forum "MAGA Central" and get it over with. The fucking President of the United States is publicly blaming this plane crash on DEI and yet we aren't allowed to discuss that because ... reasons.17 points

Im not pissed because Trump won. Im pissed because he won, despite how people saw his last presidency go. people looked at 2016-2020 and thought “meh, better than a black woman career politician in charge.” and because America continues to fuck over others and themselves because they are fucking dumb, I will fiddle as this motherfucker burns. It takes a sentinel event to actually invoke change in America. This is that event. It needs to go so poorly, the scars remind us to never pull this shit again17 points

Well, it's not really that dumb because a lot of right-wingers feel free to dog-whistle, at best, in DT alleged news threads. But they're afraid to come into CR and get pantsed in their counter-factual and otherwise ill-informed opinions. And then they whinge about their Fox news sound-bites not being given equal time or debated or some shit.16 points

I'm so GOD DAMNED tired of people who are UNAFFECTED by my existence or my gay brothers and sisters existence telling me and us just how it is. YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT. a civil contract that straight people get to take for granted is antiquated? Jesus mother of god, do you know how many thousands of dollars you have to spend on lawyers to prepare agreements that come even remotely close to the same rights you get with the payment of a marriage license fee of $50? ANYONE WHO TRIES TO ARGUE IT'S NO BIG DEAL CAN FUCK OFF.16 points

We are here because white people got uncomfortable. Any time in history white people got uncomfortable people either died or there were wholesale changes to the way our society operated. We are literally repeating history. After slavery. During the reconstruction. Southern whites lost their golden goose and were unable to continue operating as they did prior. All those slave owners became the poor, and the blacks, having all the trade skills(sound familiar), began to thrive. White people, upset about the fact that blacks were beginning to do well in society, began to take matters into their own hands once the Northern soldiers pulled out. They burned and pillaged about 60 locations across the south and put blacks back in their places. However, after putting black people back under foot, the country soon realized that it didn't make their lives better. That's when they came after the Oligarchs. Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Morgan, and Rockefeller were the more well known ones. They came after them with antitrust laws, a tiered tax system, and a whole host of other things. That and the stock market crash started the middle class boom that lasted until Reagan. Now we are right back to the dumb shit that happened circa 1880. White people are mad about the direction of the country. Misguided, they are attacking brown folks once again mainly in the form of Hispanics. However, just like before, they will find out that it's actually not the brown folks that are the problem. As soon as they get done deporting and getting the browns back under foot, they will turn their sights to the Musks and Bezos of the world just like they did before. History is nothing if not repetitive. Now I know all of you know the history, but reading it again sometimes helps to paint the picture.14 points
