Blue and Bond talking and then golden going out and quietly getting it done is not exactly surprising.31 points

Affirmative action, CRT, woke, DEI. Every few years, Republicans repackage the exact same βthe reason your life sucks is because of THEMβ message into a new boogeyman, and dumb motherfuckers like you continue to buy it every goddamn time.30 points

https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/norwegian-fuel-supplier-refuses-u-s-warships-over-ukraine/ βNorwegian fuel company Haltbakk Bunkers has announced it will cease supplying fuel to U.S. military forces in Norway and American ships docking in Norwegian ports, citing dissatisfaction with recent U.S. policy towards Ukraine.β24 points

I graduated when I was 19 and spent the majority of my time in Austin while I went to school there. I was initiated at the Texas chapter of a fraternity and my senior year spent more time in west campus than I did in college station. I would agree with you that it was a mistake and I didn't understand the culture implications of choosing TAMU when I did. I got the fuck out ASAP. If you've ever spent any real time with me at any of the now hundreds of events I've personally sponsored for the community maybe you wouldn't say such deranged shit.18 points

Only one candidate was asked for their taxes and plans and actually questioned seriously by all groups. ALL GROUPS. Crazy, that she was expected to court and express plans for both the Israelis and Palestinians, Christians and Muslims, billionaire rich and middle class, educated and non educated, and on and on. The other could make word salad, jack off a microphone, strand his followers, threaten the media/opposition/minorities/women/poor/police, just no rules and no consequences. One had to compete, participate in all of the events, and in the end, they gave the medal to the bloated, turrets yelling, criminal in the parking lot. Post election, I heard a lot of she didn't do enough to convince us. Like wtf was she supposed to do? Multiple bankruptcies, pending cases and guilty verdicts including fraud and rape, broken marriages, military deferments...he campaigned on being able to shoot somebody and not just get away with it, get elected. He left the economy in the shitter after his first time around. But I guess that was all part of the winning strategy for you.16 points

This morning, my dog pooped in the yard of the frat bros that live across the street and still have their Trump sign up. I didnβt pick it up. Take that you Nazi fucks.16 points

Noble Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman points out that nowhere are children more at risk from the proposed βsavageβ Medicaid cuts than in West Virginia, a state that voted overwhelmingly for President Trump β and where Medicaid provides health insurance for an astonishing 45% of children, the highest figure in the country. Doubling down on his idea that the cuts are savage, Krugmanβs article addressing the Republican authorization is titled Cruel and Unusual. Krugman writes of what he characterizes as a perception among conservatives β especially MAGA conservatives β that they can βsafely target [Medicaid] for cuts, because itβs mainly a program for inner city people of color. But that was never as true as people imagined and is definitely not true now. Again, consider West Virginia. Itβs one of Americaβs most rural states and overwhelmingly β 90 percent β white. Yet as weβve seen, itβs deeply dependent on Medicaid.β15 points

Do you remember the Arlington National Cemetery photoop setup? The idea was to get photos of Trump and Vance there on the anniversary of Afghanistan withdrawal and then shame Kamala Harris for not showing up. They had the unexpected confrontation about taking photos but then still went ahead with the rest of the plan with coordinated talking points, led by Vance, about Kamala not showing up. GOP echoed the same across social and traditional media outlets. Except because of the fuck up it didnβt quite land as well and the setup was more apparent. This was exactly that. All the disrespect lines were planned in advance. They would have been delivered no matter what Zelenskyy did but because things didnβt go down quite right , the orchestrated nature was more apparent. Then the coordinated tweets from cabinet about standing up for America, Lindsey Grahams completing his abandonment of Russia stance, etc etc. But you can see behind the curtains if paying attention and it makes it even more worse. I assume the game is to try to solidify support for abandoning Ukraine and force Zelenskyy to agree to a bad deal with the alternative Putin plowing over his country. I think this might be the lowest point for the US on the international national stage.15 points

You know who was an undeserving shitty candidate? This guy: And you voted for him. And defend that vote.15 points

Is this motherfucker serious? 1) Russia has the largest Nuclear arsenal in the world, a dictator at the helm, and is currently trying to roll over another country. Yeah, those other countries are a bigger threat. 2) Ukraine is not our problem? We are part of NATO. We wouldn't and haven't allow Russia on our doorstep and so we shouldn't allow the people we made a pact with to have that happen to them. 3) Sweeping tariffs are regarded. First, we don't have the infrastructure in place to do what they are supposed to do, make our manufacturing competitive. It will take quite a few years to do. All we are doing in the meantime is raising the cost of good for our masses, and opening the door for other countries to sell their wares abroad. World leaders are not dumb. All we are doing is isolating ourselves. 4) Spending our money on stupid shit? The biggest issue is we aren't collecting enough revenue. Start there. Then pull the corp subsidies and military overspending.15 points

What the fuck? I heard zero talk about "DEI" from Kamala's campaign and actually not a lot about abortion, and zero about trans rights. Nada. She had specific proposals about housing and medicare benefits. Goes to show the astroturfed movements and propaganda seeps in everywhere15 points

I'm goddamn sick of all the Blue hate. He's flawed, we all get it. But it's fucking tedious to have his every molehill/tic blown up into a mountain. Some of you seem to think of him as Johntay 2.0. Give it a rest.14 points

Mrs. Wood (no pics) just got home from her sister's. Told me a story about how my BIL tried to get her sister to vote for Trump, because he'd make more money at work if Trump won. I'm sure you can see where this is going. He was already making $250-500K a year. Maybe more. Anyway, she told him she was gonna vote for whomever she wanted. Got the news this week that he's been laid off because of one of Trump's policies. Not sure which. Sister is ... unimpressed. Leopard's eatin' good tonight.13 points

Quinn was maddeningly unpredictable and erratic. World beater one minute, timid the next, stupid decision the next, followed by a gutsy run or unbelievable throw. He was never a steady presence on the field. But he was a steady presence off the field. With all of the potential for Arch drama, he always carried that part with a steady hand. He was QB1 and repped the position, the team, and the university well. He also steered the team from dogshit recent history to two consecutive playoff appearance, beat the hell out of our rivals, won at Bama and Michigan, and give us a victory lap around the Big 12 and a conference championship appearance year one in the SEC. Just because our expectations were higher doesn't diminish any of that. Getting us those victories, and being the steady leader on and off the field -- that solidifies him as a BAMF in my book. As much as I'm looking forward to what the future holds for Texas football, I damn sure appreciate what Quinn gave us, and I hope he has a great NFL future.12 points

Coached my son's first spring soccer game this morning. At halftime a mom came over to talk to me and her kid, they were speaking a different language. I asked her where she was from, she said Ukraine. I instinctively slumped my shoulders and said "I'm sorry..." She knew where I was going, and politely said thank you and "it's a mess". Felt sick to my stomach. So embarrassed of our country.11 points
