  1. Putin's Puppet is going to unite Europe against russia and the us .... French Senator : "Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine. (...) 2. He bet his life savings on paper straws. Trump may destroy his business. After 50 years toiling in the country’s paper mills, the 75-year-old plunked his life savings into creating a β€œ24 hours strong” straw that he manufactures in Woodstock, Illinois, and sells to more than 1,000 restaurants, bars, coffee shops and casinos. But now, two years in, Spinelli says the party is over. President Donald Trump’s executive order last month calling to β€œend the use of paper straws” dealt a swift, decisive blow to his business, Boss Straw. Orders have stalled, even though the action only stopped purchases of paper straws by the federal government. Instead of selling $800,000 worth of straws this year, Spinelli fears it’ll be one-tenth of that. β€œOur distributors are saying, β€˜Everyone’s going back to plastic now because of the president,’” he said. β€œThe president I voted for, the man who says β€˜Let’s make America great again, let’s help small businesses grow,’ that man is going to put me out of business.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/bet-life-savings-paper-straws-161301480.html

  3. I think it's a little late for that in our lifetimes. DOGE is popular because the American people have been conditioned to hate government for generations. There is no pro-government Progressive Era or New Deal grassroots movement right now. As long as the average American isn't the one being let go (and most people don't work for the government) then they're completely fine with nameless bureaucrats getting the axe. Hell, not just fine, they're all for it. "That's my money" Ukraine vs Russia? "That's my money" and we're not conditioned to understand complex international conflicts or the way that military procurement works. USAID? "That's my money" and we're not a nation that understands the long game (look at our collective retirement accounts) Immigration? "That's my money" + "They're different than me" Nativism is nothing new and scary foreigners is one of the classic hits in the American album Asking the most selfish people on earth to suddenly care about others with their wallet is just not going to happen, imo.

  7. It’s been clarified that ALL intelligent e sharing has been stopped. Not only targeting assistance and imagery of the movement of Russian forces. We’ve stopped sharing information for advance warning of drone and missile strikes on Ukraine. The point is β€œleverage” and to force Ukraine to get serious about negotiating. At least, according to the White House. Trump wants a deal, and he thinks that more dead Ukrainian children and civilians will offer the shorter route to get there. So that’s what you’ve voted for, Spankytoes and Anastasis. We have to let Russia kill the Ukrainian kids if we want peace. Repulsive behavior by America, and entirely fitting because the people who voted for this are repulsive themselves. Promises made, promises kept.

  8. Sark played for Norm Chow and LaVell Edwards at BYU, well before the forward pass made it down to Texas. The amount of time Sark interned under Pete Carroll and Nick Saban puts him in a very tiny class of football coaches. That said, the same experience doesn't translate to success if you don't put in the effort to identify your needs, secure the personnel to execute your plan, and commit the resources and build a support structure to make it all work. Even then, it takes a constant attention to detail to make it all work. Recruits see that attention to detail in the way players conduct themselves, in practice and in the weight room, and in the way it manifests on the football field. He has done an admirable job of his role in building the program and in the his staff, even if 50.1% of Surly disagreed with him and thought he was never going to be the guy. I remember his remarks on PK, that Sark never coached with him, but he coached against him. And he wanted PK to coach the defense because his defense gave the offense fits. That said a lot to me abou Sark. Even though some here didn't agree with him.

  14. back in my HRC days she and I were peers. unfortunately Texas would execute a trans lady for no good reason before Texas would elect one. good for Sarah, hope she can stay the course. at this point I don't know how anyone does politics anymore. you know she's getting death threats. there's a woman in the state house in VA that set the precedent on how trans people represent in legislative bodies - you don't advocate much at all for trans rights, that comes across as a selfish act, instead you keep your mouth shut and deflect back to the economic issues of your constituents. The mere fact that they voted you in is the only act of defiance required.

They have no use for the law, separation of powers, obligations based on that separation, etc. None. Zero. They are rogue judges who are a cancer on the country.

The Secretary of Defense ordered a stand down on fights against Russian cybersecurity threats. Can the press stop repeating the administration’s lies about peace and just admit that we are using all of our leverage to force a Ukrainian surrender?

  36. My PaPa carried so much stuff in his overalls that it probably took him 15 minutes to stuff the pockets each morning, while drinking coffee for sunrise. He always had some of that 2cent bubble gum that the flavor only lasted about two- three minutes. One morning he even pulled out a derringer and shot a snake headed to the hen house! I’d spend weeks each Summer with them, as I was a β€œcity boy” and he’d put me to age appropriate work. He had a bumpy ass road leading off the feeder from IH-45. Once off that FM Road and on the entrance to β€œBumpy,” he park and say drive us home! About a 3/4 mile stretch. At like 9-10, I could barely press the clutch all the way in order to shift the gears behind the steering wheel and with the bumps could never go from 2-3rd. He’d just say that 2nd was fine, as we’re in no hurry. Hook’em!!!
