  4. My neighbor a few houses down has a "Gays for Trump" sticker on his rear window. Last night my wife and I were walking by and he was trying to escape it off. I was laughing hysterically as we passed him by. My wife said WTF are you laughing at. I told her Id tell her when we were little farther down the block. I told her and she turned around and stared. He was looking right at us. Made my night.

  8. And that’s a first. Which for a man my age, is kind of extraordinary. Those of you who served in combat have undoubtedly seen it many times. I haven’t. Driving home along 360. Some guy decided it would be a good idea to cross the highway. It wasn’t. Car ahead of me hits him. Anytime a shoe flies off, it’s bad. This was no different. I suggest someone check his pulse. He doesn’t have one. Someone has the presence of mind to start chest compressions. That actually works, from the standpoint that it started the blood flowing as evidenced by the growing pool of blood from the back of his head. I didn’t do shit to help. You think you’d be a superhero in that situation. I certainly wasn’t. I stood there fairly slack-jawed. Then I went to Maudie’s and had a couple margaritas. I’m not feeling particularly great right now.

  10. Someone needs to tell dropkick Murphy that republicans like music too: Lead singer tells magazine douche to stfu The Dropkick Murphys spent the weekend leading into St. Patrick’s Day hosting three consecutive shows at MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park in Boston. And in true Irish fashion, the weekend concluded with frontman Ken Casey slamming an attendee who spent the duration of Sunday’s concert holding up the all-black MAGA hat popularized by Elon Musk, which Casey called the “true Nazi edition.” “If you’re in a room full of people and you want to know who’s in a cult, how do you know who’s in a cult?” Casey asked. “They’ve been holding up a fucking hat the whole night to represent a president.” His Celtic smack cam was only just getting started. “This is America, there’s no kings here,” he told the man. “Anyway, if you mind, sir, we’re gonna play a song about our grandparents and people who fought Nazis in the war and shit. So if you could just shut the fuck up for five minutes.”

  17. To add to this, only 1 Republican in the House and 15 in the Senate voted for the CHIPS Act. 205 Republicans in the House and 32 in the Senate voted against it. To try to give Trump or his party credit for anything that has been funded by the CHIPS Act is the height of idiocy, so of course Zeus is doing it.

  22. You are a weird dude. Take a look at all the schools in the state Rex. Now look at the numbers. Which one has been growing the most and what is fueling it's growth? There was a time when UT was battling it out year over year with Ohio State for largest enrollment in the country. In my lifetime aggy has doubled it's enrollment to now 72k. I live in an area where the majority of kids go to college, and the amount of kids that end up at aggy is astounding. So much so that my daughter's volleyball team played their elite 8 playoff game in college station and like 30 girls came from campus to support the team. My daughter told us that she would never go to aggy because it would basically be a high school reunion. Even in the high school volleyball world. Houston Skyline is one of the best clubs in the country. The kids who play on its top team can largely choose wherever they want to go. In the 25 and 26 classes they grabbed two. Aggy wasn't able to do that in the past. If it were just about ease of access then Tech or U of H would be 72k. Getting your kid into aggy is a political statement nowadays. Sure, there are a lot of kids from conservative families who go to UT. However, aggy is a MAGA breeding factory. Your kids must be older if you don't know this.

  26. People already got paid Zeus. It's in their best interest to walk away from it the minute they are told they can and they will. But you guys that think manufacturing is coming back in droves make me giggle. Even if you could bring manufacturing back, you cannot simply flip a light switch and bring back manufacturing without heavy investment in infrastructure. Let me explain. I was born in Akron Ohio the tire cap of the world. That's where Goodrich, Goodyear, Firestone, General, and Mohawk came from. They started closing those factories shortly after I was born, and by the late 80's nothing was left. It had all been outsourced. Not only would you have to build back all those manufacturing plants that were torn down, you would also have to get workers to move to Akron, which has shrunk in size due to lack of opportunity. That means investment in housing and development of shopping centers too. Imagine doing that in West Virginia, Penn, Upstate NY, and anywhere all these old manufacturing centers used to be located that have since turned to ghost towns. Now imagine doing all that just to gain less profit than what you did when your manufacturing was overseas because you have to pay American workers so much money, so much for the land the company is on, and so much in taxes. Without subsidies no company is going to do that and the American people aren't going to pay those prices.

  30. Trump's Foxconn factory... Look at this "10 billion dollar investment"... all they did was give Trump what he wanted a photo op in a ground breaking ceremony. Once that was over with and billions in tax money was spent. This is the site now Biden's CHIPS act actually created real bleeding edge factories, Trump in a fit of petty jealousy ended the program and whatever he is promising today will look like the empty buildings above, of course the sheep will be placated and excited about these promised factories and ground breaking photo ops, but I will be correct.

  32. Man, this one bugs the hell out of me because the story of the Navajo code talkers is the perfect illustration of why diversity matters. Diversity builds resilience. Homogeneity is often going to be more efficient, but it creates brittle systems and organizations. And we often can't predict the ways in which resilience will matter. This is the exact reason we should expect our institutions to intentionally cultivate diversity.
