From Bobby today, below. His Butler comment is only the kind of thing heβs going to post when a coach is asking him to do so, IMO. **** Time for some news and notes (a lot of it on the freshmen): - KJ Lacey continues to look the part of a future starter at the D-I level. Lacey has a good presence, delivers the ball on time and has some escapability to him. He does not have the arm strength of Arch Manning or Trey Owens, but he has some wily-ness that makes him difficult to defend at times. - James Simon is ahead of Ricky Stewart of the two freshman RBs. Christian Clark is still running third team behind Tre Wisner and Jerrick Gibson. Some are saying Gibsonβs body is leaning out some this spring, which is giving him a little more bounce in his step. - Parker Livingstone is the teamβs go-to receiver currently. The clear no. 2 is Daylan McCutcheon. McCutcheon continues to be well ahead of the three other freshmen, as Jamie Ffrench, Kaliq Lockett and Michael Terry get accustomed to the intricacies of a pro-style offense. None of those guys played in offenses as sophisticated as McCutcheon did in high school. Aaron Butler is not a factor at the position. - Nick Brooks continues to receive high praise. The words βfirst-round pickβ get used by a lot of folks when describing him. Brandon Baker, I am told, also seems to be taking a real step forward in the last couple of weeks. - Justus Terry and Lance Jackson are both receiving a lot of early praise. Terry is working primarily at strong-side end currently. Cole Brevard and Alex January appear to be a step ahead of their cohorts on the interior. Both Josiah Sharma and Myron Charles are showing real glimpses of why Texas liked them so much in recruiting. - Perhaps the surprise of the second half of spring camp? Linebacker Brad Spence. - Derrick Williams is still not all the way back. And he is only repping at safety. Jelani McDonald continues to improve. - Kobe Black has reportedly had a good spring, enough so that Texas is unlikely to look in the portal for experienced depth at corner. Kade Phillips has also shown some real value there early in his career. - Graceson Littleton may be the biggest surprise of the defensive freshman. The Tampa native is a future player for the Horns. He is giving Wardell Mack a real run at nickel.26 points

don't care, play the game. PVA&M kids have probably circled this game on their calendar as this semester's field trip and are probably stoked about it. more to life than RPI. play the game. time to cancel the game was when the schedule was still written in pencil.19 points

Just saw that Ivan Melendez finally came off the injured reserved list for this season and played last night for the first time. He hit a homerun in his first at bat.17 points

1) Aggie95 is 100% incorrect on the patronage of NIL for ATM. They have a billionaire funding most of it. Heβs young and Forbes hasnβt caught on yet, but theyβll track him eventually. He helped sign all of Fisherβs classes and then he okayed the Fisher firing, is paying a lot of the buyout and partnered with Liucci to kill the Stoops hiring. I know the guy personally. Great dude, highly intelligent, self-made. Heβs not a schmuck, though and he wants to see solid direction in the program before he lets them go nuts like 2022 again. 2) Beveridge isnβt really involved with NIL. Heβs done some stuff, but with sponsorship only. Booze companies cannot be involved directly with players. This is those idiots manufacturing a premise and then committing their entire community to adopting it as fact. 3) The mention of Hildebrandt is also laughable. That dude told us βnoβ straight up and has had every reason one can imagine to avoid helping. Dude played at Texas and is buddies with CDC, but heβs not going to transfer any wealth to young athletes inside the machine at Texas. 4) Good luck to the imbeciles who think their 16 returners are worth a shit. This is going be hilarious. 5) For Texas, there are multiple major donors helping at this point, plus corporate, plus significant crowdfunding and mid-level donors too. Those aggies are laughably clueless and they have no idea how far behind they really are. It is gratifying to see.16 points

We are actually giving China the moral high ground, in addition to the most-powerful-nation-in-the-world status. Shrewd. Brilliant business. We should open a casino.16 points
