  1. The suggestion is that the IRS is likely rethinking such status.
  2. I’m assuming that was a joke, although neither of them are the wealthiest openly gay man.
  3. It’s only for the tournament, but the NCAA site works pretty well for the tournament. https://www.ncaa.com/scoreboard/baseball/d1/2023/06/04
  4. So, 2034 then? I do not see why anyone would assume that ESPN would pay the SEC more for 9 games in 2025-2033 if they were not willing to pay more in 2024. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/30492065/sec-espn-strike-10-year-deal-college-football-basketball-starting-2024
  5. LOL - What on earth. I'm pretty sure Iowa State and Kansas State don't have medical schools. UT-Austin didn't have a medical school until recently (although there are obviously medical schools in the system).
  6. NBC not exactly getting great games...
  7. The last Tech game I went to was a few years ago on Thanksgiving and the stadium was not even close to full.
  8. So basically the TV money will still be split evenly, but if a team makes it to the playoff in football or does well in the NCAA tournament, that team will get more of the money from that postseason. It seems fair, but unlikely to make a big difference for any of the schools. I wonder how much the payout for playoff games vs. NCAA tournament games differs?
  9. Your last point is exactly what I was going to say when reading your previous post. The NCAA is not going to change it because team stroke play is confusing and hard to follow for fans. Match play is simple and easy and makes for better drama. To a lesser extent, it is the same thing with the basketball tournament. A 64 team single elimination tournament is not the best way to determine the best team in a given year, but it's really exciting.
  10. I think it’s because it’s fucking cold in the Midwest in November at night.
  11. Found the live stats: https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=466755
  12. Any idea what conference Texas is likely to play in? I see that TCU is switching conferences from a conference with a couple of SEC teams in it to C-USA. https://www.frogsowar.com/2023/5/11/23720101/beach-volleyball-tcu-accepts-invitation-to-join-conference-usa?_gl=1*19s7mj8*
  13. So it will be No. 1 Texas vs. No. 5 UVA and No. 2 TCU vs. No. 3 tOSU.
  14. If you take into consideration the BTN differences, the Big Ten averages about $3 million more per school than the SEC. The $9 million figure is because four of the Big Ten schools are still getting significantly less money.
  15. On the list of reasons I am glad I didn't go to A&M, I don't think football cracks the top 10.
  16. 2021-2022 numbers are out for each conference: https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2023/05/19/power-5-conferences-earnings-billions-2022/70235450007/
