  1. Not to get in the middle of this discussion, but 9-0 is by far the most common supreme court breakdown, at more than 35%.
  2. Given that the OU game will always be neutral, I would expect four home and four away every year if we go to 9 conference games.
  3. Except if you look at Florida's future schedules, they have home and homes scheduled with Utah, NC State, Cal, Arizona State, and Colorado (and a 2-1 with UCF) in the next few years. Maybe Kansas State is not at the level of those schools, but they probably should be.
  4. This year's cupcake week in November has: 1. 2 Georgia at 20 Kentucky 2. 22 Ole Miss at 16 Arkansas 3. 12 Florida at Vanderbilt
  5. And yet I had to buy a 3 pack in order to buy tickets to the Texas WVU game at least one year.
  6. We'll see, but I doubt USC is going to be willing to give up the Notre Dame game, even if they play a 10 game conference schedule.
  7. I think both USC and Notre Dame need that game and want it to continue. My point was only that I think the Big Ten has to try to entice them through money and additional rivalries with Michigan State/Purdue/etc. as opposed to trying to force their hand by threatening to take away the USC game and others, which are possibly more important to USC and the Big Ten than to Notre Dame (although I am not sure about that). My understanding is that there are a lot of longstanding issues between Notre Dame and the Big Ten and if the Big Ten overplays their hand, it will drive Notre Dame away.
  8. I actually think if the Big Ten forbid its teams from playing Notre Dame (which they are not likely to do), it would have the opposite effect. Notre Dame may eventually join the Big Ten, but I doubt it will be because the Big Ten threatened them. Since the ACC deal, Notre Dame has generally only played two Big Ten schools a year (including USC) with an occasional third Big Ten game.
  9. Is he suggesting that (1) he has sources saying different things or (2) Oregon and the Big Ten are having discussions, but the leaders of both organizations are not involved?
  10. Although Fox will get first choice, so they'll likely be on Fox most weeks.
  11. The difference is that in a pod, all four teams have the same group of rivals, whereas in the proposal, each team could have their own three rivals. For example, Texas could have OU, A&M, Arkansas; and A&M could have Texas, LSU, Mizzou.
  12. This seems odd, but I do not follow high school volleyball.
  13. I had him first semester freshman year for multivariable calculus. All I remember is him giving a long speech about how we need to study and avoid going out to the picture shows.
  14. The Big 12's statement says that it "was approved unanimously by the eight continuing members."
  15. They may make less money from their TV deal, but my guess is they think they make up for it by being their own stand-alone entity. I assume their alumni prefer independence and likely give more based on that, but probably more importantly, I imagine being independent leads to more publicity, which helps the football program and enrollment. When people talk about the power conferences and the playoff, they generally mention Notre Dame as well.
  16. My understanding is that for the networks (unlike ESPN or cable channels), a major factor is having lead-ins for the local programming like local news in Chicago and other midwestern cities.
