  1. I get that the passing stats are not great, but he led Holy Cross, a team that seems to mostly go 4-7 to 10-3 and 12-1. They are now 1-3 so far this year. I'm guessing he's more than a "decent" running QB.
  2. The House settlement would explicitly make NIL from boosters against the rules. All NIL payments over $600 would have to be reported. They could not be paid by boosters or collectives. And the payer would have to prove a legitimate business purpose for each deal. It would push the extra payments back underground into bag deals. This is the reason the judge did not approve of the settlement. She basically said this looks a lot like a salary cap. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/whats-next-for-ncaa-nil-collectives-after-house-settlement-talks-hit-roadblock-from-federal-judge/
  3. LOL. "He advised Cromartie/Sluka to discuss the situation direclty with the coaching staff." Even if the collective's side of the story is true, it may look even worse for UNLV's coaches.
  4. Is that true even if the House settlement does not get approved before then?
  5. Come on guys. It's obviously shorthand for "UNLV's collective."
  6. It would cost a lot more than $100k to get a QB at a school like Michigan who is likely going to be a high draft pick to forgo the game (and take the risk of something getting out).
  7. Why pay to train the players before they reach their peak when college football will do it for free?
  8. LOL. It was probably Marion that promised him the $100k.
  9. What? If we assume his side of the story is correct. Then he was promised money and never received it, so he is going to sit out and transfer for next year. Which part of that requires the deal to be pay-for-play? The problem is that he was not paid what he was promised, not that he was not paid for play.
  10. Except that a non-compete is a contract between an employer and an employee. This is a rule decided by a group of competitors (each of the SEC schools are competitors in the marketplace). This would be like if Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and Netflix got together and agreed not to allow employees to transfer between their companies without severe restrictions. It is pretty clearly an antitrust violation.
  11. Not sure if this is an NIL thing, but interesting.
  12. He didn’t say the fan was surprised. He said it was a fan of a school that was surprised.
  13. House only covers former student athletes from 2016 and later. Bush was long gone by then.
  14. They're thinking the same thing they thought when they left the WAC, they are trying to ditch the bottom half of the conference.
  15. Then just add UTEP or New Mexico State, lol.
  16. Why would they want UConn football without basketball???
  17. FYI https://hookemheadlines.com/posts/who-are-the-announcers-for-texas-vs-ul-monroe-01j840p97t38
