  1. Oh deer!
  2. It wouldn't surprise me either.
  3. Or not. What a comeback by the Leafs ETA I'm not as quick as SO2
  4. The KC Chief's beat writer at the Athletic thinks the Chiefs will take RoJo in the 3rd round. Round 3 (No. 95): Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas (6-0, 219) We’re at the point in the draft where I wanted to find a blend of “best player available” and “proper depth” for this selection. I think Johnson is a pretty safe pick, a player who will be ready to contribute in a supporting role to starter Isiah Pacheco. “A stout, good-sized runner, Johnson is a two-way creator with his lateral cuts to elude tacklers and the forward momentum to power through contact,” Brugler said of Johnson, who is the 91st-ranked prospect. “With his football character and ability on special teams and as a blocker, his impact without the football is almost as impressive as his ability with the ball. He should immediately upgrade an NFL team’s running back rotation and be a core special teamer.” They have had pretty good success with UT RBs and defenders over the years. Sounds like a good deal to me.
  5. Should add that a couple members are ranchers. They put this on every year after they worked their calves. We do a crawfish boil, a hog roast, a fish fry and other meals like that several times a year. Small town living at its best.
  6. 9-hole golf course. 2k population. Yes, you could be a member. $1000 a year gets you in. Includes the pool and 1 clubhouse rental. We don’t use the Corell unless it’s a special occasion.
  7. Iowa, Kansas. Same, Same
  8. Are you getting the high wind with the cold front? We are having 25-30 with gusts to 45. All the redbud blossoms are leaving in a hurry.
  9. Nut fry at our country club last night. Ribs for the non nutters. Ribs were dry AF but the nuts were great. Several plates were consumed.
  10. Sounds about right for my office
  11. I didn't do this math problem but I know my Dad, born in 1927, was onboard the USS Wisconsin sometime in 1944. Are submariners held to a different standard?
  12. The last team to start 9-0 was the 2003 Royals and we all know how that turned out. Slow your roll a bit.
  13. I was 54 when I had both of my knees replaced. At the same time. Mine looked a lot like your x-rays before they did the procedure. My life has been sooo much better since having it done. I was golfing, gingerly, 8 weeks after the surgery and have played 4-5 rounds a week ever since. Had them done about 20 years ago and they are holding up well. Get it done and you won't regret it.
  14. Has that kid been tested?
  15. Just got home from a week in Maine. If you are there long enough to get tired of seafood, this place in Kittery is a great change of pace. It was my brothers birthday and this is where he chose to go. https://www.orenellsbbq.com/ Maybe @Captain Ron or one of the other New England Surlyites with better bona fides than I have can back me up.
  16. Kinda like accordion jokes. I meant to quote @Hornius Emeritus
  17. I was confused for a moment because they aren't wearing powder blue.
  18. But..but..they won the Cactus League Crown.
  19. Probably. So have the Royals. Clemente and Mays were my favorite players when I was a kid. I have followed those two NL teams as a result.
  20. Only a fool would overlook broom.
  21. Paul Mills from ORU takes the WSU job. Wasn’t my first choice but seems like he has the fire that our fired coach lacked. He took ORU to a S16 a year ago and back to the tourney this year. See if he can talk our portal guys into coming back and we might have a fighting chance in the reshuffled American next season.
  22. Peter Gabriel, Quebec City, September 8. Not sure what state that is but I am in. Thanks, @sidis
  23. I'm glad Greinke came home. Royals will stink again this year but he will give us something to look forward to every 5th day. “I wanted to pitch from the windup now,” Greinke told the Royals’ website. “So I’ll just do another pickoff and let him take third and pitch from the windup. … So mainly, I was thinking about way too many things instead of getting guys out.” https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article273352095.html#storylink=mainstage_lead
  24. Good list. I would add a trip to the museum for the recovered paddle wheel steamship Arabia.
