  1. Should add that a couple members are ranchers. They put this on every year after they worked their calves. We do a crawfish boil, a hog roast, a fish fry and other meals like that several times a year. Small town living at its best.
  2. 9-hole golf course. 2k population. Yes, you could be a member. $1000 a year gets you in. Includes the pool and 1 clubhouse rental. We don’t use the Corell unless it’s a special occasion.
  3. Iowa, Kansas. Same, Same
  4. Are you getting the high wind with the cold front? We are having 25-30 with gusts to 45. All the redbud blossoms are leaving in a hurry.
  5. Nut fry at our country club last night. Ribs for the non nutters. Ribs were dry AF but the nuts were great. Several plates were consumed.
  6. Sounds about right for my office
  7. I didn't do this math problem but I know my Dad, born in 1927, was onboard the USS Wisconsin sometime in 1944. Are submariners held to a different standard?
  8. The last team to start 9-0 was the 2003 Royals and we all know how that turned out. Slow your roll a bit.
  9. I was 54 when I had both of my knees replaced. At the same time. Mine looked a lot like your x-rays before they did the procedure. My life has been sooo much better since having it done. I was golfing, gingerly, 8 weeks after the surgery and have played 4-5 rounds a week ever since. Had them done about 20 years ago and they are holding up well. Get it done and you won't regret it.
  10. Has that kid been tested?
  11. Just got home from a week in Maine. If you are there long enough to get tired of seafood, this place in Kittery is a great change of pace. It was my brothers birthday and this is where he chose to go. https://www.orenellsbbq.com/ Maybe @Captain Ron or one of the other New England Surlyites with better bona fides than I have can back me up.
  12. Kinda like accordion jokes. I meant to quote @Hornius Emeritus
  13. I was confused for a moment because they aren't wearing powder blue.
  14. But..but..they won the Cactus League Crown.
  15. Probably. So have the Royals. Clemente and Mays were my favorite players when I was a kid. I have followed those two NL teams as a result.
  16. Only a fool would overlook broom.
  17. Paul Mills from ORU takes the WSU job. Wasn’t my first choice but seems like he has the fire that our fired coach lacked. He took ORU to a S16 a year ago and back to the tourney this year. See if he can talk our portal guys into coming back and we might have a fighting chance in the reshuffled American next season.
  18. Peter Gabriel, Quebec City, September 8. Not sure what state that is but I am in. Thanks, @sidis
  19. I'm glad Greinke came home. Royals will stink again this year but he will give us something to look forward to every 5th day. “I wanted to pitch from the windup now,” Greinke told the Royals’ website. “So I’ll just do another pickoff and let him take third and pitch from the windup. … So mainly, I was thinking about way too many things instead of getting guys out.” https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article273352095.html#storylink=mainstage_lead
  20. Good list. I would add a trip to the museum for the recovered paddle wheel steamship Arabia.
  21. Any coach that gives Eric Stevenson a scholarship deserves every bit of the shitstorm that follows.
  22. My brothers first job after college (KSU) was as a mechanical engineer for Trane Corp in LaCrosse. I have been familiar with the area since 1980 or so. But, yeah, it's really scenic. Unlike Ames. Or Wichita.
  23. All 2-lane from MC. One of the pleasures of selling equipment to Mom & Pop companies is getting to see some remote and scenic areas that I would never see otherwise.
  24. @Al_4_ISU I've been close to your home. I drove from Mason City to LaCrosse, WI one time. No idea the exact route but we couldn't have been far away.
  25. Zoom in on Wonsevu, KS and I'll wave backatcha.
