  1. Yes. I shot a mule deer there in 1980. A friend's son-in law had an in for the property and guided us through it.
  2. Fourth grade, 1959, I was sifted out of regular elementary school and sent to the Accelerated Program. Found out that most of the kid's parents had purchased Britanica instead of World Book like my broke folks had. I've had self esteem issues ever since. I am triggered
  3. Yeah, I mentioned that in the OP. My son tells me that when he was in middle school, he and his buddies would visit the tote before going on camping trips and the like. I'm gonna guess that there are lots of donors stuck to the pages.
  4. You tellin me that you've never flown a chicken? It easy peasy. Tie some light cord, bout 20', loosely around a chickens neck but not so loose it can slip off. Tie the other end to a truck bumper and start driving slowly. The chicken will run and keep up. Keep increasing the speed until the chicken lifts off and wah-lah you're flyin a chicken.Be careful when you turn a corner. It's too easy to tetherball one of them around a power pole. they don't change direction well.
  5. I have a GI surplus 1911 .45 ACP with a .22 LR Cenier conversion kit. It's my favorite handgun with either setup. Being an old parkerized beater I don't have to baby it any. It's very accurate, not like an accurized .45, of course, but plenty good for anything I'm apt to use it for.
  6. This business will get out of control!
  7. Wordle 220 2/6 🟩⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. I aced number 9 at Marion Ks CC today. 8 iron from 130 into a 10 mph north wind. In fucking January. Shits all fucked up. And I’m drunk.
  9. Thanks for the info. Sounds like the western end will be the best choice for us. We walk a lot but it’s almost always on gravel roads or prepared trails with minimal climbing. My wife has RA in her hands that makes it hard for her to monkey through a section. She is awfully stubborn though and will tackle a section just to show that it won’t whip her.
  10. Did you do the entire trail? The wife and I are thinking about going down there to hike this but, being in our 70's, we aren't up for the entire trail in one shot. Looking at the map, there are plenty of places to breakout and only do half of it. If you have done it all, which end would you start from?
  11. Same as it ever was. Same as it. Ever. Was.
  12. The list of guns I have owned and sold or traded is longer than my arm. I was always on the lookout for something new and different. The really good stuff I have accumulated is earmarked for my kids but the rest are just pieces that I picked up on a whim. For the most part, they have just been interesting tools.
  13. Looks like Willie Gay has an issue the Chiefs will look past. Hopefully, he took it all out on inanimate objects but with the KC history (and NFL in general) I'm not betting he did. https://www.kctv5.com/news/local_news/chiefs-lb-willie-gay-arrested-in-overland-park/article_66a32fb4-79f0-11ec-9f19-77d4f61fc9c0.html
  14. This. I have been fucking around with Unlimited by using bizarre starting words. Punched in ZEBRA and got four hits with the E and R in proper place. B and A were yellow. BEARS was the easy follow up guess. It seems to me that Wordle tries to come up with words that have some sort of twist to make it more of a thinking game. Unlimited don't give a fuck. Any 5-letter word is fine. It seems easier to me, anyway.
  15. Dad had a gunshop as a 2nd income before I was born. He was mostly repairing broken guns and making stocks. He didn't do any retail and got his FFL as soon after 1968 as that was required. I started working at Wichita Arms while I was in HS and became a toolmaker/gunsmith for them by 1972. At that point we bought a lathe and a mill and started making complete rifles for friends and relatives as well as ourselves. It was never a full time gig. When he passed, all of his shit was dumped with all of my shit. One of my cousins graduated from Trinidad after he retired from the Army 5 or 6 years ago and opened a shop in CO. I gave him all of my reamers, gages and specialty tools in exchange for finishing some of the projects Dad and I had started. Most of our shit is now in Colorado and he won't have nearly as much sentimental attachment to it. My kids already have everything that I have divvied up between them and my cousin will buy what is left over.
  16. I bought a router table and need the room. I guess I could sell the bondage rack.
  17. Damn, Lobo. That really hits yada yada. First one I ever saw was 1962, under a bridge that my Grandpa was fishing off of. Hid that bad boy in my tackle box and went back to the car "not feeling well". Sue Lyon was the featured talent. You never forget your first. Started me down a path that I have never strayed far from. Poor grammar. Sue me.
  18. Suppose that you had 20 (1970-90) years worth of Playboy magazines in Rubbermaid totes that you wanted to get rid of. Might be a few Penthouse and Oui in the mix. Can't vouch for the sanitary nature of all of it. How would you do it?
  19. My Dad bought scads of those Mausers from Sarco and the like back in the day. I have quite a few of the actions left and have been doling them out to a cousin of mine that just opened his shop. Most of the high powers in my rack are on surplus actions that Dad and I reworked. I did most of the metalwork and he did all of the wood. He bought a dozen of the 1909 Argentine Mausers and those are like gold now. They were so cheap at the time that we did things to them that make me cringe now. We cut one in half and welded it back together 1 1/2" shorter and made a 6mm BR when that was brand new. I'm not sure where that one is now but I would love to get it back for my kids.
  20. This weather has been as strange as any I can remember. I played golf in shorts and a tee shirt yesterday. Today the high will be in the low 20's and the winds are gusting to 30-35. We'll be back in the 50's for the weekend. Crazy shit. After seeing @mooseoutfront pictures, I feel pretty comfy with our situation.
