  1. The Clinic called Saturday with my A1C numbers from last weeks visit. I jumped from 6.1 to 8.7. The Holidays and all of the sweets really fucked me over. All of it was my doing. The nurse suggested that I schedule an appointment to discuss medication options. I told her that I will try to cut the sweets out of my diet for the next 90 days and see how that works before I start chucking pills or getting shots. Shouldn't be that much of a challenge because I did a good job of it for the previous 15 years. @Armybrat Sorry to hear about your eye issues. I hope you are able to figure out a way to continue participating. Good luck.
  2. I laughed a month ago when folks on the east coast were whining about this. I'm not laughing now. We buy the cheapest bagged food we can for the barn cats and now snooty folks are clearing the shelves. Our fucking cats are gonna have to sharpen their claws.
  3. I see a primate face.
  4. You made me go back and listen to this one from them.
  5. Dammit. I am trying to thin the herd.
  6. Wordle 229 X/6 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟩⬜ Had to end sometime, I suppose.
  7. Mine is a woodgrained 73. Think you might want another one?
  8. Both of my IHC pickups are like that. My TravelAll even has a front fender port for a firewall mounted secondary tank. That seems safe. I never fill that one
  9. The fact that I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars gives me the right to put up a sign and keep you out. I hate that fucking song.
  10. I have no words, Troph. I'll be thinking about you.
  11. That sounds right. Locally they are saying 4"-8" but southeast of here, Joplin and the like, they are showing 10+. Somebody is getting clobbered, they just don't know who yet.
  12. There was kid, 13 or 14, at the Wichita Gun Club around that same time that shot a scoped Garand in the Hunter class Matches. Every fucking time that scope would bite his eyebrow and he would be a bloody mess by the end. And he won his share of the iron. I always imagined he would win all the time if he had a Mini. I can't imagine not flinching and getting punched every shot.
  13. When they first came out, I converted a couple of them to 6mm-223 for a guy that used them in NRA High-Power matches to replace his Garands. He had some sucess but got tired of handloading and gave up on the experiment. Fun little guns for sure.
  14. It's not Jade's chili. It's a can of Campbell's Bean and Bacon soup with a can of hot Rotel and some browned Hot Jimmie dean sausage. That's how I do lazy.
  15. There was an OLD guy living on the property that claimed to have been a kid when Butch and Sundance were in business. He said he could remember his Dad selling horses to them. He was a windy old coot and I don't have a clue if he was pulling our legs or not. It was pretty entertaining any way.
  16. Yes. I shot a mule deer there in 1980. A friend's son-in law had an in for the property and guided us through it.
  17. Call it squab and it tastes a lot better.
  18. Fourth grade, 1959, I was sifted out of regular elementary school and sent to the Accelerated Program. Found out that most of the kid's parents had purchased Britanica instead of World Book like my broke folks had. I've had self esteem issues ever since. I am triggered
  19. Yeah, I mentioned that in the OP. My son tells me that when he was in middle school, he and his buddies would visit the tote before going on camping trips and the like. I'm gonna guess that there are lots of donors stuck to the pages.
  20. You tellin me that you've never flown a chicken? It easy peasy. Tie some light cord, bout 20', loosely around a chickens neck but not so loose it can slip off. Tie the other end to a truck bumper and start driving slowly. The chicken will run and keep up. Keep increasing the speed until the chicken lifts off and wah-lah you're flyin a chicken.Be careful when you turn a corner. It's too easy to tetherball one of them around a power pole. they don't change direction well.
  21. You betcha
  22. I have a GI surplus 1911 .45 ACP with a .22 LR Cenier conversion kit. It's my favorite handgun with either setup. Being an old parkerized beater I don't have to baby it any. It's very accurate, not like an accurized .45, of course, but plenty good for anything I'm apt to use it for.
  23. This business will get out of control!
