  1. This has been my play as well
  2. I have a Post-War FN Magnum Mauser action that I put a 7mm Rem on. Very smooth and superbly finished. It came with the military style safety in 1948 that had to be upgraded for scope use and I'm pretty sure I got the new style safety from Flaig's. They were a pretty good source for stock blanks and refined hardware back in the day. My Dad and I visited the shop in the early 70's. They couldn't have been nicer and took us back where the sausage was made. The smell of Hoppe's and walnut was intoxicating.

  4. I would try bedding it first. All of the bolt guns I have left are either 700s or 98 Mauser actions. I haven't had a factory 700 in all my time that I couldn't make shoot and it usually was a bedding or trigger issue. I have purchased several Ebay 700 takeoff barrels just to hang on an empty action for my kids and all of them have been shooters. Maybe I've just been lucky.
  5. I'll have to try the butter. We eat rice with sugar, cinnamon and whole milk.
  6. I went irate, union and SURLY. BAM!! Got it on the next guess.
  7. Gotta be on the games word list. Gibberish won't fly

  9. I think inert would be a good starting word. Or Irate
  10. Looks like your degree meter is low on warming oil.
  11. It’s a big fish. So what?
  12. [sniff] WTF? The Pink Floyd thread that's still on Page 1 isn't good enough? [sniff] @Bogeywon
  13. FIFM. I'm a child of a Wisconsin sailor.
  14. They pixilated her gang tats. I imagine the captors got tired of hearing the Doxology at all hours.
  15. His fate is still unlearned, poor old Charlie
  16. No, he never returned.
  17. You’re out of your element, Donnie
  18. The fires that @Hate and @Lobo were talking about are starting in western Kansas . They are out by Hoxie but info is a little sketchy right now.
  19. Good luck Al. We were pretty lucky. I lost a double garage window and maybe a third of the shingles on the west side of my house. Got off pretty light considering the power of that storm. I’ll be out in the morning helping clean up in town. They got hit much harder.
  20. A line of storms just blew through here in central Kansas. We have tree limbs down all over town and some power outages. I don't have a clue how strong the winds were but it was stronger than anything I have seen that wasn't a tornado. Wife says we have some shingles laying in the backyard so I'll get the insurance guy out. Lucky that it was nothing like KY, AR and IL saw. You Iowa folks better keep your head on a swivel. Good Luck
  21. Oats was clowned for sure but I wonder if it was Penny applying the makeup. Full disclosure: I only saw the highlights. When Mike Miller was his top assistant, Miller ran all of the in-game huddles and Penny stood to the side and watched. I'm not sure who took Miller's place but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Penny wasn't calling the shots. Penny is a hell of a recruiter though. Memphis always looks like they should rule the AAC and yet they find a way to be an also ran. Derka is correct, I hope Memphis doesn't kick him to the curb just yet.
  22. Every year, my son and his wife host/mentor 1 or 2 football players from the local Community College. The kids get to eat home-cooked meals, study without the disruptions of a dorm and basically have a home away from home. Today, this years young man found out that he is a 2nd Team All-American. How does this NIL thingy work?
  23. I’m curious if the snapper was signaled to do that or if he did it on his own. I want the truth!!
  24. This has been doing some sort of testing over my ranchette the last week. It has been doing some impressive climbs and high altitude work. From what little I have read it is to be a more modern Pilates P-12, slightly bigger and a more user friendly GE Conquest engine. Yesterday it was out and about with a SkyCourier. I suppose they were doing photo shoots at about 5000 ft according to Flightradar24. Interesting that only the Denali showed up on the app.
