  1. All of the stores in our downtown locked their doors last Friday morning so that everybody could attend the funeral of a longtime resident. That's small town.
  2. One of several Massive Attack tunes that can lead to me getting laid. Teardrop and Protection are equally effective. Mrs Monkey approves.
  3. No big deal. You're in the shower, right? Right?
  4. I have always said there are better ways to make your hands stink than to grab a catfish.
  5. @CHIEF, I witnessed the same thing in Wichita in 1969. I was in HS but otherwise it was exactly the same shit with exactly the same result. I don't have any idea how much involvement the Black leadership had with the policy or implementation but I'm guessing that it was minimal. I'm also not sure what would have been a better way to bring integration about but it seems that the approach chosen by the Wichita BOE was ham-handed.
  6. Hah. Might have to do that. Son in laws folks play in a Wahoo league in FW. I've been exposed to some cut throat competition. I've been in Kyle for the last few days. Had a Strait Plate at Maudie's on N Lamar and had Hays Co BBQ. Saw the lights in Fredericksburg and Johnson City. Climbed Enchanted Rock. Won a Wahoo tourney. It's been a full week. I hope everybody had as much Christmas as we did.
  7. My daughter and her husband, my wife and I play Wahoo and the winner gets a ceramic teepee ashtray. We play 15 games. I won the first game and then 5 of the last 6, 4 in a row to take this year's trophy. Feels good, man
  8. Clever of the Beechcraft engineers to put props on a private jet.
  9. Kansas City kid. I saw her a lot at Knuckleheads bar when she was on her way up. She puts on a hell of a show. I really like her work on the cigarbox guitar.
  10. Tal Wilkenfeld is a better bassist but Tina was great for TH.
  11. I'm not wordsmith enough to add anything to what has already been said but you damn sure are not alone. Hang in there.
  12. You probably caused @Cajun some trouser distress by posting Ms Fury. I had to watch it over and over for a bit. The Later Years on Spotify is excellent for the most part. I'm not a fan of the early version of High Hopes.
  13. Before I subscribed, I didn't know how much of the traffic over my place was international to and from Houston and the Middle East. I also get a lot of traffic to/from Mexico City
  14. Flightradar24 is worth the premium subscription. Lots of cool shit to view, cockpit view and such.
  15. I have no idea how this one never crossed my path.
  16. My 110 unit won't run the jets and heater at the same time but I have never noticed a temperature drop in use. I doubt that I have ever been in for more than 30 minutes at a time, the usual stint is 15-20 minutes. I'm pretty sure that there weren't any 220v 2-person spas when we were shopping for ours. That may have changed over the years .
  17. Looks like they got Missouri right. Close enough to Branson to do some baldknobbin".
  18. My $.02. I bought a Tiger River Tondi ( made by Hot Springs) 2-person spa more than 20 years ago. The wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I have osteo. Ours is a 110v unit and like Gil said we run it 24/7. TBH I didn't know folks could heat that volume of water fast enough to make on demand an option. We use ours at least 3 times a week and much more often during the winter months. I have never checked to see how much juice it pulls to determine an annual cost but I don't really care. It is worth every penny for the joint relief we get. I have replaced the heater a couple of times and replaced the circ pump once, cuz I'm handy like that. Otherwise all of the other plumbing is original. The cover is the thing that we have had to replace the most. I haven't checked the Ph in years. We did it religiously when we first got it. We drain and refill a couple of times, sometimes only once, a year using well water and a charcoal hose-end filter. We clean the filter often and add chlorine whenever we can't smell it. Our water stays crystal clear. We don't have skin issues or algae blooms or whatever the chemicals are supposed to take care of. It works for us, YMMV.
  19. This is best Elton I'm on my 2nd vinyl. Wore the first one out freshman year of college.
  20. So many really good Pink Floyd tunes but "Dogs" is my favorite at the moment. "Comfortably Numb" has to be the popular pick.
