NFL Week 3
According to the Chiefs beat writer for The Athletic: With less than a minute remaining, the Falcons faced a fourth-and-inches from the Chiefs’ 13-yard line. The Falcons lined up in a condensed formation featuring two tight ends and two running backs, similar to one they used in the second quarter to score a 1-yard touchdown. Before getting under backup center Ryan Neuzil, Cousin used a signal, using his hands to tap his helmet multiple times, to communicate with his teammates. “They saw us all kind of loading the box and they said, ‘Check, check,’” linebacker Leo Chenal said. “We knew that they were alerting to an outside run. (Linebacker) Nick (Bolton) just read it perfectly and took the shot.” Bolton, who suffered a lower back injury earlier in the fourth quarter, was the lone defender the Falcons didn’t block. He sprinted upfield behind Chenal, who created penetration against left tackle Jack Matthews and tackled running back Bijan Robinson behind the line of scrimmage for a 3-yard loss.“I saw that and cheated over a little bit,” Bolton said of the Falcons’ formation. “It’s a rule around the locker room: If a tight end is (supposed to block No.) 54, man, he’s going to set the edge for you. I saw Leo set the edge and I went off his butt and I made a play. I trusted the play call we had and I already knew where I was going on the snap.”

The wife and I were at Field of Dreams Saturday evening. Many JEJ quotes were uttered. This gave me a lump in my throat.- El Assico - CBS
We were here 10 years ago to see WSU kick UNI ass in basketball when Baker and VanVleet were playing. We never made it downtown. Big mistake. This is a really cool place. We came up last night so the wife could go to Field if Dreams this morning. It’s been a lot more fun than I expected.- El Assico - CBS
Singlespeed. Ate brats at Weblo’s or whatever the name is. Shit, there is a chocolatier across the street and a a French pastry shop attached to the hotel. I’m in diabetic heaven. I could live here.- El Assico - CBS
Congrats Al! I spent most of today in Cedar Falls day drinking. The surly Iowa fans right now in the Blackhawk Hotel bar would warm your heart. Despondent doesn’t quite cover the vibe they are giving off. Well done!- 2024 NFL season opener: Ravens at Chiefs

My Dad was an 18 yr old Hospital Corpsman onboard the USS Wisconsin for the last 6 months of the war. He didn't talk about his service much but he did say that he was scheduled to be part of the first invasion wave. I don't know if he really knew that or if it was conjecture on his part but he always said that those bombs likely saved his life.- Electric Cars
Do any of you regularly use your EV on gravel or country roads. I'm thinking about upgrading my wife's ride to an EV but we have 3 miles each way to town on gravel. Depending upon the recency of the graderman, the road can be rough. I'm worried about vibrations shortening circuitboard and battery life. I am considering the Lightning because of it's ruggedness but she really doesn't need the extra size complicating her life. Thoughts? ETA, My daughter has a Mach-E GT and my brother has an Ionic 5. I have driven both and am sold on the EV overall. Durability is the issue.- Hey Steel Shank!
It was the Fancy Ferry- Hey Steel Shank!
This isn't a Steel Shank entrant but I didn't know where else to park it. This excellent looking poutine prompted my post. Breakfast Poutine onboard a ferry from St. John, N.B. to Digby N.S. last week.- 2024 MLB Season Thread - Catch All

My brother and I had tickets to his show in June, 1969 but the show was cancelled. The local radio said it was a lack of sales and, if so, that's the most Wichita thing ever. Check out the prices. This guy claims the show was cancelled after Hendrix was busted at the Canadian border and took a break from touring. I don't know what really happened but I was pissed. https://results.concertpostergallery.com/lot/23511- 2024 MLB Season Thread - Catch All
