  1. They should go after them, but they won't because it would hurt their bottom line if they have any employed.
  2. Of all of the reasons, this is the weakest one.
  3. I agree with that.
  4. The question that was asked was when does it stop being a group of cells and start being a person? And TO ME when I saw my children's heartbeat, I believed they were a person and not a group of cells.
  5. You must have just skipped over pages of posts yesterday when someone asked when a baby is a person. I said that when I saw my child's heartbeat I knew it was a person. Other's argue that it's not a person until it can survive outside the womb, which I don't agree with. If someone was a rape victim, they would have good cause to assume they could be pregnant. I'm sorry, did I force this person to make a video and post it online for everyone to see? Nope, just searched google for Katee Life and this other girl came up.
  6. What is there to figure out? Saying it needs to be improved doesn't mean that it will be easy to be solved.
  7. More like life panels, AKA doctors. They should be able to determine if the mother's life is at risk. If they are shady and lie to skirt the rules, they will have consequences also.
  8. Raped women, women who will die if the pregnancy continues, pregnancies where they baby has a condition that would lead to a horrible life or suffering would be acceptable reasons to have an abortion. Not wanting to use contraceptives or being too lazy to get a Plan B pill from the pharmacy for $20 is not a good reason. That's the risk you take when you have sex.
  9. That is a different situation. They chose to risk getting pregnant. They chose to not educate themselves on contraceptives. They chose not to walk down to the HEB pharmacy and pay $20 for the Generic plan B pill. Any time you have sex, you take the risk of creating a baby, ask Steve Buechele.
  10. I think that it is wrong and I would not support it. But I would understand because I would not want to have to give birth to my rapist's child if I was a woman. I don't know how many people in this thread that respond to my posts thinking I am always against abortion no matter what. People who say it's never okay to have an abortion are extremists. The people who think late term abortions are okay are extremists also. I am neither.
  11. I think if you were raped, you might have a good reason to get checked out within 6 weeks. I do agree with the posters that have said they might be too traumatized to deal with it and that could be a reason they don't get checked out. Or maybe they are too embarrassed to tell anyone.
  12. I can't and don't understand. I'll admit that. And I wouldn't judge someone that cannot come to a decision within 6 weeks. I wouldn't think they are a bad person. I am saying that after 6 weeks, I would oppose anyone having an abortion for any reasons other than the health of the mother is at risk or the baby has some condition that would cause it to live a horrible life.
  13. That's why I suggested that there should be more support and it should be made easier and less embarrassing for them to seek help to explain their options.
  14. I can agree with mostly everything you said except "taking the steps to fix it". I'm not saying the rape victim should unrape herself or wipe her memory clean. Just take the steps to ensure she is not pregnant with her rapist's baby IF she does not want to have it.
  15. No. But if I was raped, I would want to be treated for STDs as soon as possible. I wouldn't wait to find out I contracted something before seeking treatment, would you?
  16. We should make it easier and less embarrassing for victims to seek help. That is a huge issue. Any competent doctor or hospital should have the resources to help rape victims make rational decisions, or at least refer them to someone who can.
  17. I think most women who were raped might start taking measures before they missed their period, don't you?
  18. Once again, I am not an "all or nothing" person. I think it would be acceptable to take any measures to ensure you were not pregnant with your rapist's baby within 6 weeks. If you choose not to have an abortion by then, then you have decided to have the baby as far as I am concerned. People who say that no one should ever have an abortion no matter what are just as extreme as people who say the baby can be aborted anytime before actually being born. Both are ridiculous.
  19. That's lame. If you serve honorably, you should get automatic citizenship. He should still serve his sentence for his crime, but not be deported.
  20. IF the US was considering doing this, we should do that for American citizens first before even considering providing it for non-citizens.
  21. Why doesn't McCain step down if he cannot be there to vote? He already passed the May 30th deadline to avoid the special election.
  22. Or you wait until a Democrat becomes president and they choose a replacement who is aligned with the left. Or you wait to see if the Senate has a democratic majority that will vote down who Trump nominates. Or you just retire now, while there might be enough time for Trump to get his pick pushed through. It's the same reason Ginsburg will not retire while Trump is in office. She wants to make sure someone that aligns with her ideology succeeds her. If she dies while a Republican is in office, the tears may never stop flowing.
  23. Missed this from March but it made me laugh.
  24. Did I say that? I said that I believe a baby is a person when I saw the heartbeat. IMO if someone was raped, and they choose not to have the baby, they should be aborting the baby before the heart forms. They should immediately take the Plan B pill and take any other measures possible to make sure it's aborted as early as possible.
