Central Austin, willing to go up to an hour outside of town, although that's pushing it for those wanting to do Friday night.
Bastrop is a good spot with the BB opportunity, fishing, etc.
If you want straight up camping & have the $$ to order up some porta cans, I know places out here in Drip that are privately owned & can probably accommodate 150 or so total people. I'd have to ask, of course - one of them is right on 290, the N side, & he could run a hose down the hill for you. Again, I could ask.For a smaller Pack, I know another spot that is much more densely packed with trees & that's off Hamilton Pool Road, a hair W of RR 12. I had asked that fellow for possible use back with I was Cubmaster & he was up for it; the Pack ended up going to a different privately owned place on 200+ acres. Since we're in Drip already, all of these places are a max 15 minutes from 12 & 290... so that's quite convenient for us. I meet people all the time in my roofing & restoration business & am not afraid @ all to ask for possible use.
As to the who can camp thing, yes - Webelos only unless it's a full on Pack camping. Of course you ...c o u l d... simply go & do it, but not actually do it as Cubs. Your call. Hopefully you have people that are BALOO trained (even though, again, not "official" camping).

@Mother mopar, I'd say that's a brave move to dig into a transmission. A total mystery to me, they are.

Does that fall under the "hood shenanigans" subtitle?

What really sucks is when you try to explain something to your spouse (or POSSLQ... Look up that term; it's an old one) about maybe getting counseling or therapy - some kind of "outside of the family circle" help & they say "What? What do you need that for?".
It's like dropping a 2,100 lb. JDAM on the bridge you're trying to build. -
Why do you keep your cat in the treat jar?

So ideas for Cub Scout camping this fall? Our Lexington trip is obviously out. Camping as a pack will be....difficult. We are talking about camping as dens, and also being very accommodating of those who don't want to risk anything.
I know some places - where are y'all again?
Right now, my biggest concern for Packs is recruiting. Very difficult in the age of Covid. -
Glad it worked out well for you.

Really?

Did he do it or a garage? Just curious if you knew the restorer
Larry has built his own engines, etc. & knows his way around the nuts & bolts but I'm 99% sure he bought these already cleaned, restored, fully intact to this condition.

Just don't let the chix out daily & you will do OK.
Are you thinking on a tractor or a permanent house? -
A place like Tractor Supply will use a forklift & drop a pallet in your truck or on your trailer.
Also, why not something better than corn? Maybe even a 50-50 mix with protein pellets?

Where "out here" in the Hill Country are you?
& YES, chickens will tear it up on every bug possible. The horses will benefit from less flies. The pill bug problem resurfaced after we de-chickened. Will be getting birds back, but not the volume we had before (were up to around 65 max @ one time, between the dumbass Guinea hens & chickens. Maybe 20 were Guineas. Every once in awhile I would get a few birds around a piece of plastic (old piece leftover from a Rubbermaid low shed) & lift that up - Pill-Bug-A-Palooza!
The birds got free range access 6 or 7 days a week & the yard was dirt & dust - gonna reduce that to maybe 2 or 3 days when we get back into them.

What are his thoughts on the Browning Hi-Power?
"It's a good gun, hard to get. Nice. Good caliber. Thinks it's only available in a 9mm. Quite common, used by many countries, still reliable & good for something made pre-WW2."

Great way to teach you the mechanism and component pieces of the gun.
While he isn't a gunsmith, Monster can probably tell you within a 5 year span when certain guns were produced, approx. how many were run in a model year, what nations use them for their military, which ones are POS's, rate of fire, what makes one generation better or worse than the others, etc.
Ever see the fat guy on the History Channel who works for the Armory @ West Point? Yeah... that would prob. be my son in 30 years.-

1. OP, if you're located anywhere in Texas, WtH, man? We did a smashing project for @fuggled & if we can ever get the new gutters painted, the gutter guy will come back & get after hanging them (took awhile for the insurance co. to realize they underpaid on the paint work). I'm in the aTx area, Fuggy is up N. in the MetroPlex. I drove up 2x for his work - nice upgrades for him as well.
...Anyway...
2. Weathered Wood (or "Driftwood if an Owens Corning shingle) is the most common because it is essentially neutral to most other paint colors. No harm, no foul. That said, it is a darker color & darker roofing = "heat island affect".
3. I'd be more concerned about the brand shingle being used than anything else. Stay away from Malarkey & IKO. IMO, CertainTeed is "meh". Atlas used to be a crap product but around 5 years ago they decided to up the game. Now Atlas, G.A.F. & Owens Corning all have a solid nail line... very thick & rubbery... holds well. Atlas ("Pinnacle Pristine") & G.A.F. ("HDZ") have very long guarantees against algae & stains. Atlas bought into the "ScotchGuard" thing from 3M. For Owens Corning (O.C.), they have their "TruDefinition Duration" that, again has the rubber nail line.
We just put on a new roof for @Felix last week & he went with the Atlas Pinnacle Pewter... plus did some new metal work on his chimney. (see pic). In around 2 weeks, we're doing a Georgetown project & this customer is going with Owens Corning TruDef Duration Sierra Gray.5 hours ago, immortal13 said:I paid my deductible to my roofer and then they paid a fee to me to put their business sign in my yard for roughly the same amount.
OK, so on to Immortal's response:
https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/86R/billtext/html/HB02102F.htmIf you have a recoverable depreciation to collect, this "free roof" business in Texas won't work as of 01 Sept. 2019:
{the following text is required to be posted in size 12 font, bolded, for all contracts where an insurance claim is paid}
FOR ALL APPROVED INSURANCE CLAIMS, “Texas law requires a person insured under a property insurance policy to pay any deductible applicable to a claim made under the policy. It is a violation of Texas law for a seller of goods or services who reasonably expects to be paid wholly or partly from the proceeds of a property insurance claim to knowingly allow the insured person to fail to pay, or assist the insured person ’s failure to pay, the applicable insurance deductible.”Oh, & FYI... Amica is no longer writing policies where there is any RCV (depreciation) that is collectible. IMO, Germania is good, USAA is turning to shit, Snake Farm & AllSnake continue to be shit & Chubb is where it's at for you Shag-Elite 2%'ers.

Can't be the FBI or NSA snoopin' on perv pics because I ain't got none.
Was doing a transfer from the phone to my DeLL notebook ('cause I'm pretty jammed with pics)

Doing the transfer via connected cable - successfully filed 4 different houses / roofs / siding pics & then *blam* this pops up:
So I disconnected the cable & reconnected - started out like this:
Then flipped over to the "lock screen" again.
WTH is going on?
-
Finally got out, 2 of my 4 needed appointments & barely back home to change into my Scout gear & take Monster to the meeting.
Now it's after midnight & I should be in bed.
Got 3 spots to catch up on tomorrow + 1 parts quote from Depot & a contract to write... I have zero motivation for any of that.

I’ve been buying the point only from H‑E‑B. For two adults and a 3 year old, a 10+ lb brisket is often too much. These 4-6 lb points have turned out great. Not sure who is buying all the separately packaged flats though. They come really trimmed and I’m guessing come out dry AF.
What kind of setup are you smoking over & for how long?
Got pics?

I have been using Open Office (Apache) for probably 18 years now & only in this last 2 to 3 years - Since Windows 10 - have I had problems. Constant crashing & most of that is when doing spreadsheets.
I have to save every 15 to 20 moves or so & especially if I do something that I guess could be considered a "hard" move, such as import a pic into a spreadsheet or word document.
Would Libre pick up all of my Apache O.O. docs without any hassles & potentially stop my crashing issues?
