It would also be common more during this time of year with the drastic changes in temperature if it is your house settling. I’ll bet it stops during the summer.
This is correct.
It is not at all uncommon for movement in any structure, whether steel framed or lumber. & FYI, decking is (supposed to be) installed with "H Clips" to allow for expansion movement AND provide some structural rigidity on the 8' sides.Nothing in the slightest to worry about.

Also, JOTI is coming up - Jamboree On The Internet. It's an annual way for Units from across the globe to connect via the web.

A Philmont cancellation would be crushing, esp. for Crews that were denied last Summer due to the fires & took a rollover to 2020.
As to getting parents on board with belt loops & advancement, honestly if the Scout or Adult Partner wasn't motivated before, it will probably be equally difficult to get them on board now even though they have the available time to get every available loop or pin for that particular rank.
All I can suggest is that you position this as a way for the Adult Partner to get in some quality time that provides a structured method, i.e. the various loops have a plan & list of what to do, so "no thinking / having to come up with ideas on your own" for something new & interesting. -
With the advent of the "Tea Party", I was prescient enough to know they wouldn't stick to anything exclusively economic & would simply devolve into the same tired Evangelical Republican / Contract with America moral outrage bullshit.

If your Drip is from Lowe's / Depot, you ...could... return it.
@deadshank might be able to make you some custom if you're interested. I'll let him speak to that endeavor.

Use felt with plastic caps, drip edge nailed on the proper sequence, starter strip trimmed so the edges don't line up with the first course edges & it wouldn't hurt to buy a high profile ridge cap from a specialty supplier (i.e. "real" roofing house vs. Depot or Lowe's) that is designed to work on a steep slope ridge. Thanks for the tips. Surprisingly I think all of that was my plan. Shit takes me forever but I'm a perfectionist.
Forgot to remind this as well: Drip edge goes OVER the felt on the rakes (angled L & R edges) & drip edge goes UNDER the vapor barrier for the eaves. Get a 2" x 2" minimum & if you want the best, get a custom bend that is 4" on the deck x 2" on the face. If you want to paint the drip edge, go with a custom fab shop that will make you some drip edge out of "Paint Grip".
What region do you live in?- 1

My wife is a got dammed legend for taking the lid off of something / unwrapping / unboxing it, dropping that on the counter & walking off without putting it in the recycling / trash / whatever. Like, unscrew the cap from orange juice & peel off the seal, then eventually putting the OJ back in the fridge but the seal just sits there on the counter.

Quarantine has given me some time to finally work on this again. Finished the cedar shake. All that's left is the asphalt shingles and it should be good to go.

FYI & slightly related, homes with an attic based air handler will commonly have 2 drain ports for the condenser collection pan ("drain pan") that TwiceHorn was mantioning.
One is inconspicuous, usually near the AC compressor (that's the outside component). The 2nd drain line is placed over a window. The idea is if the primary gets backed up, the secondary will start to work & they want it dripping over a window so it might get noticed.
To clear the line, 1st try some compressed air. For the 2nd step, make a bleach solution, maybe 5% bleach with 90% H20 & pour that through the drain line as the follow up.
If you don't have any equipment available to blast air, straighten out a coat hanger & maybe poke down the line a bit however be careful to not get anything stuck.
Either way, do the water / bleach solution.

Assuming he has adequate insulation for the attic void, intake / exhaust ventilation is not going to be the issue as those components do zero for his living space. If you're not a stay at home worker, you might just be experiencing it for the first time, its starting to get warm outside, things feel different, or it could be your attic, the turbines on your roof finally rusted enough not to turn, sofit vents arent doing their job, etc
