  1. Well, TBF we don't really know how far over the existing roof he wants this new dealio to extend plus what direction he intends the slope to run.

    1 ft? 6 ft?

& YES, a large gutter would be a good idea, however in theory a common 6" K style with a 3×4 downspout is going to do everything needed.

Avoid large, oversized gutters if you can because they are only made in 10 ft. runs, require more labor & are prone to having issues @ each if the connections.

  2. Some small hail, no bigger than a dime

With a 60 mph wind, dime sized hail can still easily damage shingles or a low slope roofing system (Modified Bitumen).

  3. All I know is I went to a Blanco meeting re: addition to a shop & probably less than ⅓ mile from where I crossed the Blanco River, there was an off duty DPS officer (in his personal vehicle) hanging out by the pipeline.

I asked if this was the spot where the Karst had been blown open & he said he didn't know about any of that but, was there "to stop anyone from setting another fire & damaging more equipment".

I want to build a covered patio onto the back of my house that is higher than the roofline of my house which is fairly low. My thought is to install a wide large capacity gutter onto the house eave and then a basically free standing patio structure that is two feet taller than the house roof. Hopefully the large gutter would divert heavy rain flows from the patio. Dumb idea?

It can be done, however we need to consider the supporting components for the part that extends (floats?) over the existing house roof.

What town do you live in?

  5. Seems Jarrell got hammered & I heard the roof on the Old Coupland Inn & Dancehall got tossed.

We had a brief, strong run here in Drip but nothing too horrible.

  6. The only thing that sucks about dogs is they dont get to stick around & love us as long as they want to.

Some of y'all probably met Otis when we had the Shag Q cookoff; I was there with him in the living room as we laid him on a big, soft pillow & the vet did what he had to do.

Damn if a 135 lb. German Shedder doesn't almost take a human sized hole in the ground. Even worse when you're digging in the heart of the Hill Country.

    Sincere condolences.

I saw that tweet yesterday and thought that was unbelievably stupid. NBC should raise the bar not lower it. I realize clicks and infotainment is what cable does, but that type of reporting drives me away from tv not toward it.

Ted Cruz needs to start every public appearance with "Apologies for my garbled speech, it's difficult to talk while I have Trump's orange testicles lodged in my mouth.".

  8. I'm an old & obviously wasn't aware of who this "Lele Pons" person was; I was thinking XxX actress.  Nope.

Apparently this is a "then & now", her Wiki bio says she was bullied in school (moved to Miami when she was 5)... I'm guessing because she is Hispanic but not from a Cuban background.  Them Cubanos is very territorial.

Anyway, this is apparently a "then & now".

  9. I (we) slightly burned some sausage on the skillet tonight.  Monster was supposed to be eyeballing it & he didn't catch that the water level was low.

@ Least they only burned on the one side & it was edible with sauce.

I'm feeling lazy tonight.  Also, no pics.
