  1. I need info / costs / what to do for a durable Rx POA.

    The sooner, the better.

Mom had a fall in the driveway Friday afternoon while I was prepping for a Boy Scout campout & again last night while inside the home & I was still camping.

1st Was eventually a 911 call & transported to hospital, broken top connective cartilage @ ribs.

Today's early AM fall had her stuck on the ground for around 5 hours until until I could get there to assist & even then, it took me + the next door neighbor to get her up.

I need to kick someone in the ass over @ records @ South Austin Hospital so they will forward her info to the nursing home & I can get her admitted... been since last Thursday when they received the signed release & as of C.O.B. Friday, still nothing sent to the nursing home.

  2. If you're near the "front L" corner of The People's House (if viewed from inside the bkdg, front R if you have the bldg in front of you), take a moment @ the Boy Scouts of America statue.

A collection of dimes was undertaken by Scouts from all across America to pay for it & the names of all the Scouts who collected are written on scrolls that are inside the monument.

I think this was in the 1930's.

  3. Agreed re: Air & Space, not the one on the Mall... that's an easy full day due to the amazing volume of stuff. Got to talk to an F-4 pilot who had written a book about his Vietnam tours & was set up with a small table right by the same kind of plane he used.

I also 2nd seeing the monuments @ night... something special about Jefferson, Lincoln, Korean, etc. with all the shadows.

Spot on re: cafeteria @ Native American. Look @ the schedule & see what might be going on in that space while you're there... interesting dances, displays, etc. Disagree about the entire space /MNAI in general, but then I'm interested in Native American culture in general.

  4. A Q team @ BBQ Austin, "Pellet Mafia", comprised of all women took 2nd or 3rd in I think 3 different categories.

Not enough to win the overall, however they did place well enough for a group that only had 1 space. (Grand Champeen was "Double Barrel", 2 years running now. Also the San Antonio winner IIRC).

I know nothing about their product other than they were 10% on Traeger equiplent.

  5. Very salty, about 1/2 way to inedible.

Fork is on the bone for size comparison.

When I picked the contraption up by the bone, a huge part of the meat slid off & did a Louganis / Flying Wallenda backflip, landing across the pickles & around 4" of meat was hanging off the tray, onto the table & partially on my phone.

Interior parts were good but fairly greasy & the bark was the salty portions.7f52711a85a8bc2086d6e3698a481017.jpg

  6. Lunch is swerved.

    1/4 Sweet Yellow Onion
    4 or 5 sliced Mushrooms
    1 Whole Bell Pepper (smallish)
1 Smashed pod of Garlic, minced.

Ribeye salted, peppered, in the fridge for 2 days.

Steak on for 2 min. each side prior to veggies, added Salted Olive Oil Butter, then vedje-tables. Cooked all until vedges were just soft enough / onion was clarified.b1974e68e474e517fa090a8c5f8c8507.jpg90205066679c27244364816474a8686b.jpg497976aa8981ac11a41c2ffb2a1a8f2e.jpge796553785fad95e44b15cffda738f75.jpg27d6c508da68e7230824bde2128c284e.jpg

  7. I'll add a vote for Quality Seafood.

Doesn't hurt that I know the owner & we did the re-roof as part of the expansion a few years ago.

In a pinch, the small "tub o' ersters" from the HEB seafood area is good enough for my heathen tastes.
