  1. Re: slab, pay attention to the slope of the land. Try NOT to have it too skinny on the "up-side" (high-end of the land slope). Have enough slab so any water running downhill will not wash on top of the slab. A 6 inch "turn-down" around the perimeter is common. Don't go cheap on the slab by setting it thin. Think worst case scenario type flood. Also, run electricity underground (vs. a swing) where possible. • Ø tree falling branches or whatevs to cause damage • Looks cleaner, better resale. • Note the distance from the eventual far end of the building & discuss with the co-op or a competent & licensed electrician. Typically you get a max 150 ft. before voltage drop becomes an issue. • As Clever said, do 120 & 240 v from the start because "you never know" when someone wants to plug in a welder & the cost to upgrade later is crazy compared to up front expenses.
  2. Guess where I am currently & who I had to drive here + who the hang tag is registered to?

  7. Larry, is that you?
  8. 2 new M12 goodies. Used the nibbler just yesterday @ @gsoda3 's to cut down some old gutters parts so they would fit in my truck bed.
  9. Getting a load of 20 rounds delivered next weekend. 5×5, coming up from near Sinton (where IS Bill these days, anyhow?). $ 100 ea. I will consider that a "win" as compared to $ 85 / bale for my local guy & I won't have to make any R/T's for 2 @ a time (one on the buggy & one in the truck bed). This should get me to over ⅓ of the year as my ² horses are on average burning 1 rounder every 10 days.
  10. I have an "autograph panel" football with hand procured sigs by... ~ James Brown ~ Richard Walton ~ Major ~ Mack & Ricky I also have a fitted ballcap that is signed by Mack, Coach Royal & Ricky. I don't wear that one as much anymore because I don't want the sigs to suffer sun damage. I sorta had to chase Major down for the football when he was doing afternoon radio for AM 1300 (on Lamar just N of 6th). Waited in the parking area under the building, got there around 1 hour prior to his daily air time & sure enough, he was driving a freebie vehicle from Apple Leasing. I also have a pair of season ticket stubs that were signed " W I D E "by Chris Simms & Major on the whole piece prior to bei g separated. The idea is to reassemble them as a single piece (the way they were mailed) & have that professionally framed up.
  11. That's why you put a blank tortilla on the plate, to catch all of the runoff... ☆presto☆ 2nd Taco.
  12. Throw 'ew to the back of your mouth & smaller down quickly. I hate those things.
  13. Ron McKelvey has entered the chat.
  14. What's the fascination with rooftop tents (on your SUV / truck)? Do people think critters are going to attack them if the tent is on the ground? I get the thing about living in Central Texas & it can be a hassle setting a stake in Caliche or Limestone, however this is a national trend here.
  15. Yeah, yeah... "Shart 2024" thread 2 doors over.

  22. Suggestions for an outdoor TV? Build a wooden case for it with a fabric flap over the front? My concern is humidity & of course a case & canvas-y flap will assist in dust mitigation. Would be under cover (metal carport), still thinking humidity is an issue. Hoping to get a pawn shop 50" or more.
