I bet they are going to go the 'lips shut' surprise candidate that nobody was talking about route and it will be someone like Drinkwitz. They will then commend how everyone didn't see it coming.

The guy who called him out said it was because Academy was pressuring him to always talk about aggy and talk positively about them because of Academy. Pate then insisted if that was true he’d be required yo do the same about UT and USC, but his argument wasn’t very convincing.
I don't know if the Academy thing plays a role, but he's mentioned several times that he talks to Looch, and recently said he's talked to several aggy who are involved in the coaching search. It's a sure bet Billy hooked him up with those phone #'s.
If I did Twitter I would ask Pate if aggy loses to LSU would aggy move into his top 10.
I don't know if he has a hard on for aggy or a blind spot for talent. He does the same for Mario. Always apologizes for him and commends the talent he has brought in.

I never smoked but in the early 90's I collected camel cash and saved up for a corduroy hat.
Yeah it was awesome.

So buckle up. I’m hearing through the grapevine that whoever is hired will have an expanded war chest to go after talent right away.
So they will bring in portal mercenaries to take the spots of their HS mercenaries? That will build culture.

Would we have any interest and/or would it be reciprocated with Matthew Golden? He looked really good against us (outside the stupid personal foul) and would be an explosive addition.

Anyone else feel like naming Robinson as interim is a major hint that their priority is keeping their DL intact, and that his continued employment as DL coach or maybe even DC will be a condition of HC employment?
Yes definitely. He's the rainmaker on that staff...along with bags, lots of bags.

I enjoyed this Ed O quote. Jimbo had 70 something million reasons to get over saying goodbye to the team.
They said, 'Coach, you've got $17.1 million on your contract,” Orgeron said. “We're gonna give it to you. ' I said, 'What time do you want me to leave and what door do you want me out of, brother?' ”

It will be interesting seeing what defensive coordinator is willing to hitch their wagon to usc and Lincoln Riley.
Gotta believe trojans will talk with Jim Leonhard
Leonhard has to understand that his entire reputation will be on the line if he takes this job. Unless Lincoln understands that he needs to replace Bennie and restructure everything about how they practice with defense in mind, it's gonna be the same thing over again. If you bring in a yes man and just ask him to be the 65th best defense in college that might be doable but Leonhard isn't aspiring for average if he wants to become a head coach.

Contract extension season is going to be wild courtesy of aggy.

Aggy may not as well if the broken rib rumor proves accurate.
There was that time when Haynes was photographed with a boot on at a Dr office and good ol Looch was scrubbing photos I believe. It was very on brand.

There is a decent chance Napier will be coaching to save his job that last week against FSU now. There are lot of key people around Gainesville who never wanted him in the first place and they were already handing out freshly sharpened pitchforks and lit torches early this year when things seemed to be headed down the toilet.
Obviously that talk quieted down when they started playing better and won some key recruiting victories but if they miss a bowl? I don't think he survives that. If nothing else this should help take the pressure off with Robinson.
Who would they accept as the new HC? And who would want it that makes sense?

I love to listen to Nuno post aggy loss. He delivers the news like he just had to announce the assassination of JFK to the world.

i agree with all of this.
wonder when his contract is over and if his ties to Texas save him. have to imagine with everything rocking and rolling it makes it easier to move on from him.
Maybe a North Texas or Incarnate will throw him a DC position. He's not going to coach ST or safeties somewhere else unless he's publicly fired.

Michigan alum Rich Eisen is doing his best juicy impersonation. I don't have the timestamp but it goes for about 15 minutes.

Bummed about this. Older kid and I watch Friends and she loves MP. I always felt this might be his fate but I hate that she has to experience this type of loss. Guy was on top of the world for a time. We just watched Fools Rush In and will watch Whole Nine Yards pretty soon. He was the glue of that show for a time. Demons are hard to fight. RIP Matt.

Trying to decide between a looftlighter, heat gun and blow torch to light smoke tubes. Anyone have a preference?
I use a butane torch. Cheap and works like it should.
