God damn it! Can we at least talk about the feelings of Juan Davis with the addition of Niblack?

The most misleading rankings system to date.

Brennan had UA connections with his brother and Tomey. He wants to be there and is cheap probably.

I wonder who his offensive staff hires are going to be. Dude can coach a defense for sure, but offense was frustrating to watch. He had Vidal, a great between the tackles runner who already has Troy's career rushing record with a year of eligibility to go. But, man, there was no creativity in the passing game. If it was 3rd and medium or longer, the play call was a back shoulder fade to the best WR. All season long.
Odd team to follow all year. You have a connection?

While I am enjoying Alabama being torn apart like lions over a zebra kill, I wonder if Bama Beat has a point. If a head coach leaves the program, then certainly it is fair for the players to portal for 30 days. Would it also be fair to allow the school that the coach is departing from to participate in the portal for 30 days after a new coach is named?
No. Saban did this. He retired when he did. Had he retired at the end of the regular season this could have avoided. Instead he chose to not be a distraction.

Have a family friend that is very close with the Kiffins, and I don’t think Lane would leave Ole Miss til his daughter graduates from there in a few years. Maybe the perfect job or some crazy contract could change things quickly, but he has it pretty damn good in Oxford.
It does make sense, much easier to bang her sorority sisters while she still in school.

Texas A&M pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff headed back to Auburn
Carter Karels (Aggie 247)
Earlier this month, Texas A&M announced its hiring of former Auburn secondary/cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff in a similar role. Approximately one week later, McGriff evidently had a change of heart.McGriff, who received “pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach” as his title with the Aggies, is headed back to the Tigers in a similar on-field assistant role. Auburn Undercover – the 247Sports website that covers the Tigers – first reported the news Thursday evening.
Without McGriff, new Aggie head coach Mike Elko now has nine on-field assistants: Collin Klein (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks), Trooper Taylor (associate head coach/running backs), Holmon Wiggins (co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers), Adam Cushing (run game coordinator/offensive line), Jay Bateman (defensive coordinator/linebackers), Sean Spencer (defensive line), Tony Jerod-Eddie (defensive line), Ishmael Aristide (defensive backs) and Patrick Dougherty (special teams coordinator).
If A&M fills its 10th and final spot with another secondary coach, senior defensive analyst Bryant Gross-Armiento would make a lot of sense. Gross-Armiento served as secondary coach for the Aggies last season, and Elko retained him in an off-field role. But Elko might look to hire a more veteran coach like McGriff.
Auburn hired McGriff ahead of the 2023 season, but he took a step back from his on-field role in October. Tiger head coach Hugh Freeze told reporters that McGriff was dealing with a “personal issue” and shifted roles to the "chief of accountability and in-house recruiting.”
McGriff has been a college coach for more than three decades, serving various roles at Savannah State (1990-94), Kentucky State (1995-99), Eastern Kentucky (2000), Kentucky (2001-02), Baylor (2003-06), Miami (2007-10), Vanderbilt (2011), Ole Miss (2012; 2016-18), New Orleans Saints (2013-15), Auburn (2016; 2019-21; 2023), Florida (2021) and Louisville (2022). He worked with Aristide at Auburn (2016) and Ole Miss (2017-18).
Within the last decade, McGriff has established himself as a solid SEC recruiter. He helped land several of the nation’s top recruits, including the No. 1 overall player in the 2013 class: Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche. McGriff played a role in his team signing two other former five-star recruits via the 247Sports Composite: defensive backs Brandon Harris (Miami) and Tony Conner (Ole Miss).
I am disappointed as the phrase "this was expected " or "this was not a surprise ' wasn't uttered one time.

I don't know why half of the lists floating out there leave off Mike Norvell but I imagine he is a top candidate. Sark will get a call but I think he'd simply use it to get a fat bag out of Texas. DeBoer is really good but I wonder if Alabama will want a guy that's never worked at a blue blood in any capacity. Lanning and Lane hanging around too. Agree on Dabo, Alabama can't want a guy so entrenched in the past. Maybe Ryan Day wants a change of scenery.
@Wulaw Horn's Alabraska theory just got sped up, that's for sure.
I'm only surprised he's retiring at this moment because they were bringing back their starting QB next year and looked to be very well positioned for another run. Having talked so much about how much he enjoyed this team I am surprised he walked away from another year with Milroe.
Have seen this multiple times (probably same rumor circulating). Very odd if true. Hope all is well with his family.
He's fine. He knows he has to be business as usual until he was ready to do what he did. Otherwise he doesn't have the control he always needs.

Completely lateral move... didn't even get a promotion and just a $300K-$500K salary bump which we could have matched.
That really stings. Especially right after we lose our two best DTs. More than that it shatters the idea that Texas is and should be a final destination-type job for all but a) the NFL or b) a significant promotion elsewhere.
Dude... just... get a grip.
