I have to say, I like this year. The short season. The neutral site playoffs, the no rest days in the DS and CS. Its different. And it's not all bad different. The only thing I have really hated is the regular season extra innings man on second.
There are some things that should be carried over. The 8 team playoff is more exciting but expansion is needed to make it permanent. 4 divisions of 5 teams in each league would work, so add some teams. To add value to home field advantage, play the entire WC and DS in the higher seeds stadium. No days off. For CS and WS, keep the traditional formats. Keep the traditional extra innings format. To shorten games, keep the 3 batter rule for pitchers, and enforce the damn pitch clock finally, but give it more teeth. If you don't throw a pitch in time, it's an automatic ball. The batter only gets one time out during the at bat, so he should use it sparingly. If he used it up, if the pitcher throws a strike while the batter is walking around its a strike.
I do really like the neutral site playoffs, but not only is it an impossibility in the future, I also dont want it for the future.
