  1. Tampa's legit. They were the 2nd best team in the AL last year too. Hell they may be the best team in MLB, but I hope y'all beat them. And I hope the Astros beat the As or White Sox. I need a hit of those Yankee tears. Its been a year since my last dose.
  2. Y'all all need to wake up. Remember that every accusation Trump makes is actually a confession. Trump is going to try to steal this election by fraudulent mail in votes. He has pretty much said this plainly multiple times already
  3. I guess Putin's budget has gone down this year. He is sending out the JV team.
  4. yes and yes. I grew up in 80s and 90s Houston. There was crossfire at the time, but you could mostly stay away from it even in my neighborhood which had its share of gang violence. I never started any trouble either but my cousins did, and I have been held at gunpoint more than once due to them. And everywhere is safer now than back then. Chicago is infinitely safer than then. NYC is practically Disneyland compared to its bad days. And yeah, I love Nola, but its one of the only places I've ever been where I took a wrong exit and thought, "I need to get back on the highway right fucking now." I have been in Latin American slums and felt safer. Shreveport might be worse than Nola though. All the crime and none of the charm.
  5. Its sad. The other thing that is often glossed over is that their grandparents or parents moved there specifically for the plant. They moved to where the jobs were. In fact, the "American Dream" has mostly always meant moving. Manifest destiny, the gold rush, factory towns, mining towns. Some of those moves didnt work out well. Predatory mining companies kept workers trapped. Sooners realized Oklahoma sucked. But they moved. They didn't beg for someone to bring jobs to them. Now some of us with socialist leanings can say we should bring jobs to them, but that has never been the American dream.
  6. There may be a suburb of Chicago where she can find something in that price range. Not sure though. If she is from a bad neighborhood in Chicago, that could be her bigger issue. Sometimes trouble finds you when you are staying close to where you grew up. At her age, I would hope all that has passed though. I found Houston more dangerous than anywhere else I have lived, but that was probably due more to what some of my relatives were doing with their lives than overall crime in my neighborhood even though it did have a sky high murder rate when I was in high school. Stray bullets make the news, but most bullets aren't stray. Interestingly, I looked it up and Chicago and Houston are 1st and 4th in overall homicides this year. Chicago does have about twice as many so it is definitely statistically worse. Philly is 2nd and more out of spec per capita than Chicago is. NYC is 3rd and still safer per capita than any other large city. Also per capita, small cities pretty much dominate the top 10. None of the mentioned cities crack it. I was reminded of Bangin in Little Rock. Are there still places in Houston for $1200 that aren't in bumfuck?
  7. Michelle is hotter than Melania. Her face shows expressions. I guess some people find a lot of plastic surgery attractive though. Worse than that is that Melania has adopted some of Trump's mannerisms like the squinting glare.
  8. Regarding cop support, I noticed that too. And while Trump threw Biden a lifeline, the blame is really on Biden's debate prep team. Biden does have some law enforcement endorsements. He should have had some names ready to go. But the double standard on gaffes is severe. Trump outright lied about getting an endorsement from the Portland area sheriff and got a Twitter rebuke for it. What I dont get is how we got to this place where one candidate needs to be largely mistake free and the other candidate can shit on the floor with no repercussions. And if the former candidate makes that single mistake, well he is "washed up", so we are gonna vote for the guy rolling around in his own shit instead and is "washed up" times 1000. You know, I just can't stand being around a guy that accidentally elbowed me and gave me a bruise so I'm going to choose to be around a guy that intentionally shoots me in the face instead.
  9. I don't know. I think Trump can be baited into saying and doing much worse things than he has already said and done so a better strategy may be to push Trump's buttons while remaining calm. Calmly delivering rebuttals and attacks drive people who are on irrational tirades crazy. Like my ex girlfriend. She would be screaming about something I found insignificant that I supposedly did. I would calmly reply. She'd go nuts.
  10. I happened to watch a few clips of Trump debating Hillary this week. He was an asshole and offered no real policy positions then either. But he was controlled and I was surprised by that. Against Biden he was completely unhinged, and I dont think its because of a different debate opponent. He has actually devolved significantly over these 4 years. You can probably see it in his rally speeches between then and now as well.
  11. Not sure why you guys keep sugar coating it. Yeah, he could have denounced it, but instead he gave them marching orders. The only answer is that Trump is a white supremacist himself. And anyone that defends Trump on that, or tries to justify it with a "but antifa," is probably a white supremacist too. It is indefensible otherwise. If they aren't white supremacists too, JBJ and his ilk should condemn Trump on that topic, and find another hill to die on like Trump's "millions" paid in taxes, or judges, or wanting poor people to not have access to healthcare.
  12. Who is moderating the town hall? Need someone that can put the smack down if needed. What's the Rock up to?
  13. Both sides! Nobody could debate Trump using policy positions because he wasn't there to debate and has no policy positions. I'm no Biden fan, but nobody could have stood in there and given substantive policy discussion.
  14. Yeah he probably sent a bunch of, likely armed, neo nazis to police the polls in African American districts. Cant believe his poll watchers wouldn't be well received.
  15. Not only did he not denounce them, he told them to stand back and stand up.
  16. Yep 100 days of riots. Asking a question with a false premise. Fuck that shit. Biden should have responded back with actual numbers.
  17. He has done a terrible job moderating this. Not that anyone could do better. Maybe a wrestling ref or something.
  18. Not even. My 6 year old has a better understanding of things and can speak more rationally.
  19. I think I understand Trump now. He is the guy that runs his mouth at everyone until someone knocks him the fuck out, and then he changes his ways. Sadly, since he has always had yes men and bodyguards, nobody has ever done us the favor.
