  1. (Grant Ramey) Josh Heupel addresses Nico Iamaleava situation: 'No one is ever bigger than the program'
  2. Unsurprisingly, Ari Wasserman misses the mark. Ari Wasserman: It's Nico Iamaleava's right to negotiate with Tennessee for more NIL money
  3. Pete Nakos: Where will Nico Iamaleava land in spring transfer portal?
  4. Surprise surprise. Iamaleava was one of the first real mercenaries of the new NIL era. Tennessee won his bidding war with a 4-year, $8 million contract.
  5. It's still so bizarre to me that DKR was castigated for putting his players through hellish practices back in 1972... and thirty years later, Bear Bryant was adulated for doing the exact same thing to his players in The Junction Boys.
  6. Nice to get some insight into Liucci's hiring criteria
  7. Sports Illustrated's list of the greatest games in Texas football history: 1934: Texas defeats Notre Dame, 7-6 1940: Texas defeats #2 Texas A&M, 7-0 1950: #7 Texas defeats #1 SMU, 23-20 1958: #16 Texas defeats #1 Oklahoma, 15-14 1962: #1 Texas defeats #6 Arkansas, 7-3 1964 Cotton Bowl: #1 Texas defeats #2 Navy, 28-6 1965 Orange Bowl: #5 Texas defeats #1 Alabama, 21-17 1969: #1 Texas defeats #2 Arkansas, 15-14 1970 Cotton Bowl: #1 Texas defeats #9 Notre Dame, 21-17 1977: #5 Texas defeats #2 Oklahoma, 13-6 1982 Cotton Bowl: #5 Texas defeats #3 Alabama, 14-12 1990: #14 Texas defeats #3 Houston, 45-24 1996: Texas defeats #3 Nebraska, 37-27 2005: #2 Texas defeats #4 Ohio State, 25-22 2006 Rose Bowl: #2 Texas defeats #1 USC, 41-38 2008: #5 Texas defeats #1 Oklahoma, 45-35
  8. ...how often is IT going to dance around Washington's current situation before they just come out and say it?
  9. Excuse me, I'll have you know Tudor released a cutting-edge red dial Black Bay 58.
  10. Grand Seiko just released the new benchmark for high-accuracy watches, the SLGB001. Comes with the new Caliber 9RB2 Spring Drive movement, accurate to ±20 sec./year and just 11.4 mm thick. And it finally gets a bracelet with tool-less micro-adjust. Starting price is $11K. Oh, and Rolex announced an integrated bracelet Land-Dweller. Just 9.7 mm thick, with a new caliber 7135 hi-beat movement (5 Hz frequency). No more Swiss lever escapement - I don't know the technological particulars of the movement, but a lot of new patents are involved. Starting at $14K.
  11. A college sports version of the Stroop effect would be interesting.
  12. We're 103rd in the country in returning production this year. That's worse than every SEC team other than Georgia (105th) and Ole Miss (113th). For comparison, blOU is 10th in the country in returning production. A&M is 6th, and Florida is 18th.
  13. I'll spare the clips of Wisner's drops against Georgia, Vandy and A&M, and just say that catching is a skill that can be improved with practice. But denying that he's slow is silly, he was run down from behind against blOU and Arky multiple times. The difference in speed between him and Blue (who scored our only touchdowns) in the Ohio State game was very obvious. He doesn't have top-end speed, which is fine when you're a phenom like Bijan Robinson or Emmitt Smith but limits his versatility otherwise. 'Weapons grade level retard" is hilarious coming from someone who is apparently oblivious to the fact that Blue led all our backs with 5.4 ypc and eight rushing touchdowns. Our entire combined RB room scored 24 touchdowns last year, and Blue was responsible for 14 of them. Blue was usually useless in-between the tackles due to his fumbling issues but he had six touchdowns and nine yards per reception just running routes out of the backfield last year, including multiple touchdowns against Ohio State and Georgia when our O-line was getting manhandled. Our RB room cannot replace that this year. Wisner churned out yards when our O-line could dominate defenses and give him holes. When our line couldn't do that (Georgia, Ohio State, ASU, Arky) he vanished. And now our O-line replaces 4 of 5 starters.
  14. Wide receiver is a known weak spot but there hasn't been much talk about how mediocre the RB room currently is. For all of Jaydon Blue's deficiencies, he was fast as hell and a vital backfield weapon last year. This year we have no speed at the RB position. Wisner and Gibson are slow and not good pass-catchers, Baxter and Clark are still recovering from significant injuries and the freshmen will take time to adjust to the speed of the game at the college level. Look at the touchdowns Blue scored against Clemson. None of the backs currently on our roster have the speed to score on those plays. Against Ohio State, Blue and Golden were our only two offensive skill players who had the speed to make an impact against Ohio State's defense. We've become much slower at the skill positions overall this year.
  15. The last football game he saw before he graduated would have been a 27-0 loss to us in DKR's second season at Austin. He had no idea how much misery he was in for. He would go on to see A&M lose 15 of their next 16 games against us. During that stretch, we won more national championships (3) than A&M had winning seasons (2).
  16. Or just switch to Firefox and install uBlock Origin. The Chromium-based browsers (Chrome Edge, Samsung Internet, etc.) recently switched to Manifest V3 which blocks third-party extensions like ad blockers from using the chrome.webRequest API. Avoid the Chromium ecosystem as much as you can.
