  1. What a bummer, Twice. Was it locked to anything? I have the carbon Ripley in a GX build with an XO shifter. I wanted a Deore build that I could upgrade over time, but had to take what was available in this market. I’m happy overall with the components and really happy with the bike. A dropper has been a nice addition, too. Is the AF available/in stock locally? I’ve noticed some more bikes in my local store but not a whole lot.
  2. Team Moderna - Boost 11/11. Still negative for natural AB which is crazy since I spelt in the same bed with my CV+ wife for almost a week over Xmas before we realized she had it. Still out of range for the spike ABs which is nice considering my first CARES draw showed I was down to 291 six months after my second dose. No shingles yet.
  3. My buddy has a problem, which is he won’t open these…
  4. PCR was negative. My immune system is a rock star. It will be interesting to see my third UT CARES draw to see if I have a natural antibody response that overwhelmed the virus, or if I slept in the same bed with my Covid+wife for over a week and just never got it. I was over the 2500 spike protein AB limit 3 weeks post-Moderna booster on 12/10/21.
  5. My wife tested lightly positive and one negative on rapid tests. She also got a pcr the same day that was negative. Three days later, she was clearly positive on a rapid. That was five days ago and I had a PCR today but won’t know for a day or two. We slept in the same bed all last week until Sunday night so I cannot believe I’d be negative but I am totally asymptomatic. She’s over the sniffles and slight cough. It did not slow her down at all. We both had our boosters recently and I will lord it over her if I continue to be negative.
  6. The spouse had a two negative and a barely positive rapid test, and a negative PCR on Tuesday when we were going to see her anti-vax aunt and uncle. Clearly positive rapid on Friday for her. Our family is boosted and we were all together the entire week. My 20 yo twin sons and I tested negative as of Friday. No symptoms at all for me and she just has a runny nose and is just grumpy that she got it while we didn’t. At this point, I’d rather get it over with so am not separating from her and she isn’t masked. Do I have to stay at home for the next week with Mrs. Grouch?
  7. Please post the Kyler as an Ewok pic.
  8. Moderna boosted 11/11. Worked from home the next day and had some chills/aches but nothing bad. UT CARES Results: Second Moderna was 3/13 9/1 - Spike was 291 (whoops) 12/2 - Spike is >2500
  9. Spent the fourth with my son in the student section. Great seats right next to the band. This is the first game I’ve ever seen where the Hellraisers were not there.
  10. When were your shots and when was the first CARES draw done? I saw a tweet about the Pfizer vaccine ramping up to about 2,200 2-3 weeks after the second shot and then trailing down to about 300 six months later. They then got the third shot and the antibody level was over 12,000.
  11. What size? I’ve got a friend who keeps red ears.
  12. We have 2, 24 year old units that we’ve kept going but it is time to replace them with brand new everything, new ducts, new plenum, and an additional return for our room over the garage that is hot AF. Carrier has had two price increases lately with another one coming 1/1/22. Is a 2-stage AC and a variable speed furnace worth $2k per unit? Both the performance and comfort units will be 16 SEER from what we have which are probably 10-12. I suppose we will live in the house for another 10+ years but who knows what may happen.
  13. First ride on the new bike. After waiting months for the bike shop that demo’d me many different bikes and sizes to come through with a full suspension carbon, I walk into another store on Monday and they have the bike I wanted (Ibis Ripley) in both sizes (M/L) and in two different component levels (Full SRAM GX or a Shimano XT but with carbon hoops and i9 hubs). At the end of the day I couldn’t stomach the $2,200 delta and it gives me an upgrade path for many years since this should be the last bike I ever buy. I went with a medium since I’m in between sizes and went with fun and snappy as opposed to planted and stable on DH. I’m old and risk averse and will never do enduro. Had a great first spin after bedding in the brakes on the Slaughter Creek loop. I figured it would’ve been a PR but nope! Apparently age is the great leveler. Hit mine four years ago and have never been close since. Amazed at the shock. It just sucks up the bumps (120mm) and is so smooth. The fork is a bit longer (130mm) than the one on my hardtail. The geo will take a bit getting used to so I can unweight the front to get the wheel over larger ledges but it almost doesn’t need it as I was able to go through an entire loop without dabbing on stuff that would usually hang me up. Got to see a Caracara raptor on my ride!
  14. This is great news. 3rd shot increased antibodies 5x from the second shot, which was pretty high to begin with but trended down. If this result is continued in others, another booster may not be required until 9-12 months later. I got my Moderna booster last Friday and am waiting on my CARES text.
  15. You can ask your congressman to do an inquiry for you. The passport place should be able to give you the locator number (or whatever it is actually called) that you give the congressional office that number along with a release/authorization to have them speak with the State Department. Do it today.
  16. Checo’s dad hugged him when he got out of the car and said “¡No mames, no mames!” Which basically means “get the fuck out of here!” He couldn’t pass Lewis but it was a great result for a great country.
  17. Just started Joe Abercrombie’s Wisdom of Crowds on Audible. Steven Pacey is the best narrator in the business. Joe has a great voice and his writing of a mob run amok is perfect. I enjoyed Mistborn greatly, but this is better, writing and narration. Where’ Logan!?!
  18. They have a UT lawyer and there is no way he didn’t adamantly oppose this extension without a buyout.
  19. 2:30 kicks are dangerous because after the pint of bourbon during and multiple wax cup beers before and after the game, you could end up lost, in the dark, at the fair barn, with no idea how to navigate to the exit to catch a cab back to your hotel. Or so I’ve heard.
  20. Here’s what can happen if you don’t have JT and go for a 68 yarder.
  21. Hulk - Pfizer has 30 micrograms of inoculant while Moderna has 100.
