  5. So, is your thesis that if the media just wouldn't cover what's going on then his approval ratings would be great? That is an interesting point. And you're correct that Dems don't have a propaganda network. They have multiple.
  6. That chart needs to have time relativity. My levels are 5 months post 2nd shot

  12. I have avoided this thread and am sure I've missed this discussion but surgery? For a strain?

  14. We're all tired of it. And there has no doubt been some uninformed posts in DT and in CR. There is nuance to those positions if you care to discuss. Density which implicates proximity was proven to be accurate. Obesity is directly correlated to severe outcomes. As someone with kids who has had them in masks since last year, masking for them is largely performative. They don't wear them properly, they don't wear the proper kind, and they fall off constantly. But you're correct, get vaccinated and the hospitals will be fine and you won't die. Pretty simple message that has been buttfucked from here to Wuhan. Fingers crossed, but based on date of collection, Dallas County looks to have peaked? https://www.dallascounty.org/Assets/uploads/docs/hhs/2019-nCoV/2021-COVID-19-Summaries/CV19-Summaries-08/DCHHS COVID-19 Summary 08 20 2021.pdf
  15. https://www.france24.com/en/asia-pacific/20210713-france-calls-on-its-citizens-to-leave-afghanistan-amid-security-fears Frogs pulled the trigger on 7/17 "The government will set up a special flight on the morning of July 17th, departing from Kabul, in order to allow the return to France of the entire French community," the embassy said in a statement, adding the flight will be free of cost. "The Embassy of France formally recommends to all French citizens to take this special flight or to leave the country immediately by their own means." France joins a growing list of countries that have either told their citizens to leave, or evacuated them -- including in recent days India and China. The embassy said it will not be in a position to ensure the safe departure of citizens choosing to stay beyond July 17. The Taliban have launched an offensive across the country since early May, when US-led foreign forces began their final withdrawal, which is now almost complete. The hardline Islamist group has swept through much of the north, and the government now holds little more than a constellation of provincial capitals that must largely be resupplied by air.
  16. here's her follow up
  17. Totally and completely agree. Vaccinate as many people as possible is the goal. It's also pretty easy for you to look at the racial breakdown of Texas and the vaccine hesitancy breakdown of racial categories and see where the issue is. Hell, look at the weekly updates by the Dallas county health and human services and they show, by zip, where people are fully vaccinated on a heat map. Given unvaccinated people are the biggest drivers in illness and hospitalizations we know where to focus. But we can't talk about it because people like Captain like to waive away issues there and only focus on dumbfuck rednecks (and they do deserve scorn as well).
  18. Well that's good, thank goodness there are fewer of them and therefore we can discount their impact. I guess in these cities and states that institute vaccine mandates we can just point out that African Americans and Hispanics represent fewer Americans and so we don't have to worry about the impact to them quite as much. I'm going to start applying the law of gross numbers rather than percentages to everything.
