  1. Steve, is that you?
  2. I thought Jones was leaving to the draft?
  3. No matter what happens, this will be true.
  4. If expectations are always sky-high, then you can never exceed them.
  5. Anyone who says otherwise should be banned
  6. Yeah, but that would be expected and TFB says that it's someone who isn't.
  7. Absolute bloodbath.
  8. But what does it actually say?
  9. Fair enough. I guess its easy to forget that these things aren't quite so obvious to people who don't do this for a living.
  10. Blindsided that the Rice Bros won the proxy fight? They had two of the three proxy services (ISS and Egan-Jones) and the three largest active shareholders (T. Rowe Price, DE Shaw, and Kensico) all come out in support of their bid. I didn't expect the 80%+ support, but it seemed pretty damned obvious who would win.
  11. Probably the most thorough operational plan that I've ever seen from any activist. It'll be interesting to see if they can execute on it.
  12. Third best Jewish fraternity. So not great.
  13. Buffet is getting $10bn in 8% preferred stock plus what essentially amounts to $500mm+ in call options for free. He'll do just fine on this one.
  14. Well that was a hell of a day.
  15. Can confirm that Gossip Securities has been mandated as the exclusive financial advisors to the seller.
  16. Let's get this thread going again. Private DoublePoint Energy, backed by Apollo, GSO, Magnetar, and Quantum is reportedly on the market. Rumored asking price is $5.0bn. DoublePoint would join EnCap backed Felix Energy II and family owned Endeavor Energy Resources as the most substantial private Permian players up for sale. CNX, XEC, and CDEV each raised $500mm through debt offerings. It will be interesting to see what happens with QEP. They have a $8.75 per share (~16% premium to current trading price) offer on the table from Elliott Management, but it looks like management would rather sell off their Bakken and Permian assets separately to different strategics. The termination of the NGP backed SPAC, Vantage Energy's acquisition of QEP's Bakken assets for $1.65bn probably throws a wrench into that.
  17. I think that was Andrew Fitzgerald, who no longer plays football at all.
  18. Bush went to Yale. His library just happens to be on the aggy campus.
  19. According to 247, he spent his redshirt year at Okie St. before transferring to JuCo, so probably did qualify.
  20. What's up with the dildos on the shoulder pads?
  21. Does randy duke practice recruiting law?
  22. WTI up north of 7%
  23. Players at the top of the class are weighted more, and they have Thibodeaux
