  1. I mean I hope it’s a ratings grab. That would favor Texas getting in.
  2. Let me be clear. Miss State gets a big F- for hiring an overall fuckface and someone within six degrees of familial relationship with Art fucking Briles. Also his actual coaching acumen…who knows. But I like the IDEA behind the hire. You can’t just hire “tough defensive coach” there and line up to run the ball and win in the trenches. Miss State will never have the talent to do that.
  3. Florida making Jeff Capel look sad on the bench? I can be down with that. Zaga looked like they wanted to blow out UCLA early but let down and now it’s a game at half.
  4. Can’t see the Big 10 also-ran having a shot. If it’s Ohio State they couldn’t beat Michigan’s backup coach, so why let them in with the big boys. If it’s Michigan their total lack of résumé will doom them. Georgia would perhaps have a better case, but at Texas’s expense? Hard to get around “Georgia lost to a team that Texas beat on the road” argument. 1-loss Georgia over a 1-loss PAC12 champ is probably a more interesting discussion.
  5. Chris Beard is a giant scumbag, and it was the right choice to let him go.
  6. Wanting to move on from Terry after that game last night? Hilarious.
  7. Petitte was also in the Mitchell report. He’s not getting in.
  8. Petitte only at 17 percent last year.
  9. Why you gotta hate on Todd Helton like that. He’ll get in and deserves it. Beltran and Sheffield are meh candidates to me. I agree with the rest of your list.
  10. Offensively we looked fine. Defensively we are a wreck on the perimeter. With our front court out not a surprise tonight but we at least have to make it somewhat challenging as we get healthy.
  11. No question Abmas is a downgrade from Carr defensively, and Rice was no defensive slouch.
  12. Deion’s looked miserable in every game this year that started after 8:00 pm Mountain. Maybe his bedtime is 7:30 pm or something.
  13. I mean, Mel Tucker was there at the conclusion of 2019. Anybody watching CU then would’ve agreed they were at least trending in an OK direction. Then Tucker left in the middle of the night, COVID happened, they hired Dorrell which was a disaster. The COVID year was smoke and mirrors where the entire Pac12 only finished with one ranked team and CU got annihilated by Casey Thompson in the bowl game. Dorrell finished bottoming out in 2022 and here we are. 2022 CU played in two one score games all year (1-1). They lost all games that weren’t one score by at least 20 points. They were the assiest of ass. 2023 CU has played 7 one score games (3-4; only the Oregon State game didn’t feel like a one score game out of those) and have been truly blown out twice (Oregon; last night). UCLA and Oregon State had pretty comfortable wins. Otherwise CU’s been in every game until the end against a tough schedule. I’d say that’s improvement.
  14. The team is unquestionably better than last year. They still are bad, but 2022 CU is one of the worst P5 teams I’ve ever seen. Deion is gonna hit the portal hard again. He’s had a small class recruited for almost the entire cycle, and there haven’t been a boatload of decommits. Talking a bunch of shit so you get everyone’s best shot all season long when your team is bad probably didn’t do many favors though.
  15. McMillan dominated CU last weekend in Boulder. Tall frame and high pointed two or three balls that looked overthrown in the air. He sure looked the part.
  16. Holy shit Zach Edey still plays for Purdue?!?!
  17. Did somebody post the updated Murderers Row MSPaint with the Powercat crossed out? Asking for a friend…
  18. I saw Williams play live in person a couple of weeks ago in Boulder. He’s built like a cinder block and made 5-7 throws that nobody else in college could make and made it look pretty damn easy. His one pick was a broken play where his WR was open way down field, but angle of the play meant Peak Aaron Rodgers couldn’t have put enough juice on the throw and the safety came under it to intercept it. He looked like a top NFL prospect the whole way. His oline sucks this year which is contributing to USC’s overall issues. My concern for him would be potential attitude issues, but dude could just be bored.
  19. Game is going to kick at 11:00 am.
  20. 1993 we brought 4 rookies. Wadkins the best Cup player of his generation was ranked in the 70s in the world rankings and got a captains pick. Went 2-1-1. US won the Cup. 2023 we’re bringing 4 rookies. Justin Thomas the best Cup player of his generation… I feel bad for Keegan but with the team composite it makes sense to bring in JT the glue guy. I don’t see the case for Young (rookie) or Glover (hot for only two weeks, also rookie).
  21. It’s impossible for CU to be worse than last year. If they win 3+ games and look competitive for most of the games, then it’ll be a success.
  22. Koepka is a stone killer. He’s gotta be on the team. Why would he give a fuck about regular LIV events. The JT thing is fascinating to me. I think you have to take him because of track record (and pairing with Spieth) but he’s made it a really tough decision.
  23. If Mitchell comes back he could be an absolute monster by the end of next year just based on ceiling and potential trajectory. That said I’d expect him to declare. The Beard model for this year and last seemed to punt on rim protection. I’d like to see us recruit one big dude who can do that.
  24. It’s hard to say Beard was going to be here for 25 years and lead us to multiple national titles when he managed to get himself arrested and deservedly terminated within 18 months of assuming the job. Among all the possible outcomes considering his known personal traits coming in, what actually happened is probably on one side of the spectrum, and the 25 year potentiality is on the other. No question Chris Beard has a better track record as head coach than Rodney Terry to date. But going forward Chris Beard is unemployable at Texas, and Rodney Terry’s prior coaching stops (1) Weren’t at the caliber of job that Texas is (2) Did not have the benefit of the transfer portal, and (3) Were before Rodney Terry might have learned something from Chris Beard about how to construct and maintain a high level program. So as we sit here right now, I don’t see how you can conclude “he’s literally incapable of matching Chris Beard.”
  25. Welp. FAU making everything so far.
