If the Quinn Ewers thread keeps opening up on your computer and forcing you to post on it, try shutting down and restarting your system. That should clear up the problem. If not, your computer may have a virus.
I so love when people respond with this stupid shit.
It was a fucking question on how this thread could have possible grown since the draft, and in the last 2-3 days without anything happening at all...

OH absolutely. Just to start another civil war on social media between their fanbases.
1 hour ago, Pam Cummings said:Well maybe the fact that this is the Caitlin Clark thread and you all can't quit talking about Angel Reese in it makes her point somewhat valid.
Fair.
I like Angel too...that's what sucks. If the girl would learn to not take 12 plus shots a game while shooting 38-40% from 5 feet or less, she'd be so much more valuable and taken more seriously. She's a super high level role player(ELITE rebounding and very good to great defense) on a title contender. Not the star despite her clout, and she doesn't understand that yet.

That does NOT look like Christina Bale. And Cage is pulling off a younger Madden. Need to hear his voice/cadence though.

Are the ratings struggling?
They didn't need Dallas on opening night...Jax/Miami would bring ratings.
They don't have to have Dallas/KC...Dallas and the Cardinals would be huge.

How the fuck has this thread grown 10 pages since sunday, if not more...and this many since the end of the draft. Jesus.

The only way the lottery was rigged was making sure the Spurs didn't get the #1 pick they deserved
Deserved? For fucking what? You idiots lucked into a injury season from Robinson that got you Duncan...then got handed Wemby, and got Cassell too and think you "deserved" Flagg?
Spurs for some reason be getting gifted shit like they the Lakers.

Let’s not forget that the mavs also let an all-nba player go to New York as well.
He wasn't when he left, and he was stuck to the bench the playoffs the year before. By the Time Dallas actually saw what Brunson was, he shut it down.
Sure he would have signed 4/55 that summer. But the Mavs would have been stupid to do it at that time based on what he'd actually done for them on the court.
17 hours ago, dcar00 said:Brunson wasn't going to stay. his dad made sure of that. they did fuck up not trading him.
This.

Brunson has said he was going to sign but the mavs kept pushing the date. The deal was 4/$55m.Yeah they keep pushing this narrative. He would have signed that summer. Mavs pushed the date cause they wanted to see him play, rightfully so.
Even STILL he wasn't THIS Brunson in Dallas. Much like Steve Nash he had to leave for his own team to become the stud he is anwyays.
15 hours ago, dcar00 said:of course he did. he was trying to blame the Mavs because we weren't hiring his dad to be an assistant coach. he was never signing here. the problem was not trading him.
exactly.

Rumored NBA expansion fees are expected to range from $4 billion to $7 billion per new team, depending on the market and a potential bidding war. Some reports suggest the league could collect as much as $10 billion combined from two new teams. These fees would be distributed among the existing 30 owners.
+++
someone please figure out the math:
1 that buys out the remaining 31% of the dallas nba franchise (so it moves to vegas)
2 how is the $10 billion for the "new" sonics and the "new" mavs split between the 2 teams based on market value or tv sets or whatever
3 then reverse that math back in to slightly higher payments to all of the other ownership groups i.e. the adelsons don't get a taste of the expansion fees for the 2 "new" teams because they got a massive discount to buy themselves out of the clusterfuck they created
4 what is that number cuban has to come up with or find other investors to co-fund the "new" mavs?
Can we stop this...the Mavs aren't leaving. Would be an absolute shit storm if they did after all this.

I would love Tyus Jones. Wouldn't hate D'Lo but he'd be more expensive.
I know some would hate this, but not me. Giddey holding it down till Kai got back. Don't need to be a scorer at all, just play defense and facilitate.

Counterpoint:
1) Seattle will get an expansion team before Vegas no matter what.
2) A post Mavs expansion team in Dallas would generate more fees than a Vegas team, and on a more convenient timeline.
The number of times the league has prevented teams from leaving cities that do not support a new arena is *zero.*
If the public won’t pony up for a new arena and the lege doesn’t get behind gambling so they can self-fund, they are gone.I think Vegas gets a team first personally(even though Seattle SHOULD)
That's if they have them lined up...there is a groundswell for a Vegas team. They would have so many groups trying to buy in it would be silly.
The last point isn't worth it. If the Owners lose out on Casinos in Texas, they're more likely to sell out than try to move. They didn't get into the Mavs for the basketball, but as a catalyst for an all encompassing new Casino/entertainment market in North Texas. They don't need the Mavs for that in Vegas.
It just don't make sense. And now with the draft, the interest will be back for the Mavs, right or wrong, so the chances are less IMO.
-
I was shocked and of course it was rigged. For the first time EVER in Dallas favor. A team that has never had the #1 pick, and has never even moved up in the lottery once in 17 tries.
Oh, and the Mavericks are NOT moving to Vegas. You may not believe the "top 5 market shit" but what you will believe as that the owners would lose 20+ million in buy in fees bynot doing a new team, and letting them move.
It's not happening.

Keep the TE in to block and you got Blue, Turpin, CD, and Pickens running routes. One of those dudes gonna get open. Will Dak be able to find em and get it to them? We’ll see. But somehow I’m optimistic about Dallas on offense for once.
they also got Phil Mafah who’s a beast RB
they got Dane Fowler and another rusher
they drafted another inside backer and an outside backer that are good
Really they just need their secondary to stay healthy and they will be ok there too
Why do people say stuff like this? The offense was very very good 2 years ago when Dak was 2nd in MVP voting. And the two years prior when Dak was healthy. Pretty much any year outside of 2017(zeke suspensions/Dez/Witten declining like rocks and Twill sucking AND the OL was a mash unit on the left side) they've been a good to very good offense when Dak is healthy and the OL isn't shit.

Yeah had me rolling...the way they're fake Canadian accents morphed in fake Irish ones.
The way that Sal, who always says "the cowboys such or what" saying "The Stars are good right?" was icing on the cake. A true meltdown that was actually funny.

Dever has been one of my favorites since she was on Justified as a kid. A kid actor that didn't annoy the fuck out of me...she was great on Last Man Standing as the "tomboy" Daughter. And plenty of other movies.
She'll be fine after this...Bella, not so sure. She was great in GoT...but this might be beyond her now.

9 games should be minimum given how large conferences are. The fact A&M has been in the SEC for 13 seasons and has played Georgia one time is absurd.
Each team should have 3 permanent games with rivals and/or geographically close teams. Then with the other 12 you play half each year on a home and home basis. Guarantees you play each team twice in an athlete's four years, once on the road and once at home.
I don't care for these massive conferences. I think a 10 team conference with a round robin makes the best sense. But for a 16 team conference, three permanent games and rotating the rest is the only thing that makes sense.
This is the way I've been preaching since the move was announced. People sorta shit on the "Pod" idea but it makes the most sense. 3 Rivals/close teams. 6 teams you do a home and home with, then the other 6 teams do the same thing. Every 4 years you've seen every team in the conference twice.

I had no expectations, but this wound up being really good. The storyline was definitely way different than normal for Marvel, but making the movie about mental issues was a nice diversion from the usual superhero movies. Everyone in the theatre had a great time which was also cool. I would say to see it in 4DX for the full experience. I’d love to see more movies with this group staying together.
Same. I loved it. Way more emotional than I thought it would be and I'll probably see it again.
I love these thrown together teams, very much like GoTG is my singular favorite non avengers MCU movie because the cast was that good along with the story/comedy/serious mix.
Same here.

Google “George Pickens bad plays”. There is lots of evidence this guy sucks ass and is a loser.
You can do that for basically every player. Including Lamb and Mahomes.
On 5/7/2025 at 10:13 AM, Horn80 said:So once again, Jerry gets another player that will be problematic on the team. Yay
Huh? They've basically spent most of the offseason getting boy scouts in here.
On 5/7/2025 at 10:21 AM, Dbeasy said:Forget the behavior issues. This is why it’s probably going to end up being a stupid trade.
Not so fast. Once you take into account the future contract or potential behavior issues it could end up being a terrible move.
if he's horrible or bad here there won't be a contract. There WILL, however, be a pretty damned good Comp Pick coming, maybe even a 3rd rounder, which makes this trade basically a wash if he fucks himself out of Dallas.
On 5/7/2025 at 10:31 AM, DougO said:Pickens has also been in pretty shitty WR rooms as well, not a lot on the opposite side to require much attention. Lots of come and go dudes that get some false expectations after a decent game or two, but turn out to be JAG receivers. Now he has Lamb, until he has his arm ripped off his shoulder.
Cowboys need somebody he trusts in the locker room to get him to chill.
Yeah and they spent all offseason getting "the right kind of guys". Adding a dawg and an asshole might actually be a good thing.
On 5/7/2025 at 10:27 AM, DougO said:This is true. As much as fans like to trash Dak, he's getting a huge qb upgrade throwing to him. And I don't mean Joe Milton.
Cowboys still need a backup qb.Be the best QB he's played with, and that even if you think Dak is Barely a Top 15-20 QB.
On 5/7/2025 at 10:47 AM, 'stache said:I don’t seem to recall a ton of locker room drama considering some of the shadier characters we’ve had over the years. The circus usually comes from Jerry and his yes men. Im good with this trade. We need a damn RB now if Shotty has any chance of exceeding my expectations which are pretty damn low.
Exactly.
They drafted "Good guys" and signed "good guys" This is a shot at taking a very talented WR, who produced over 900+ yard every season with dog shit QB and a new OC every single year he's been there, and seeing if it works.
Worst case, they get one year from him, he's great, and the open market overpays him to the point they get a 3rd round comp pick for him(so basically trade a 3rd for him and get one back) OR he sucks, they don't resign him, and they STILL get a 4th/5th Comp pick for taking a swing.
In no way this is a bad trade unless he murder Lamb/Dak.

Gee wonder what team they keep pushing for no damned reason...
The cowboys have 7 Prime time games(for now) the final game of the season is tbd...and if the Cowboys are good they'll probably flex some game late.
Add in all the 3:25 stars and they keep putting them in the national window.
