Bwahahahahaha! Damn regards.

My brother has used tripmasters.com several times and liked it. That said, he and his wife are big-picture people and don't like fretting over any details. It's not for me.

Fuck anyone traveling sick. You have every right to do so but everyone else also has the right to point the finger at you and call you out on it, dick. That includes you, Desmond.

Bill.com, per their CEO, moved all transactions that were to be processed through SVB to a "multinational" on Friday. We'll see.

Maybe too many self-indulgent wieners...with too much bloody money?

I’m over my skis on this one. Shocker I know. But I still find it fascinating. Can someone explain how SVB tanked like that without being condescending? I still can’t understand why Bennigan’s failed but that shitshow Chili’s is still around. I understand diversifying and all that and interest rates. I’m not asking for politics…how did a bank go from being heralded a month ago to this? Was it just a run on money? Sorry again…

OK so #5 on that list is my bank Frost. I’m not a bank auditor. Cause for concern? No.

You do know that zerohedge is a kremlin propaganda outlet, right? And also lulz that KPMG could lend credibility - they were part of the auditors asleep at the wheel that let the fraudulent risk profiles of 2008 happen.
If by part you mean every big 4 firm then yeah.

I'm a lawyer at one of the big tech law firms (think Goodwin, Cooley, Fenwick WSGR). Have been getting calls all day from founders wanting to know if they can stick their SVB money in our client IOLTA trust account for safe keeping. Truly wild times.

I was at a poker table one time and was the only white person, everyone else was Asian. Someone else noticed it as well and started asking around where their families were from. I think we had Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Filipino. The Filipino said "We are the Mexicans of Asia"
I think most people know that the Spanish colonized the Philippines hence all the Spanish surnames Ayala, Cruz, Reyes, Garcia etc... BUT few people remember BEFORE it was TEXAS in 1821 it was...Nueva Filipinas!!

I've heard the same thing regarding the Italians being the Mexicans of Europe.

I have a Costa Rican friend who looks down upon Mexican Americans in brutal ways. "They come here and make their neighborhoods look like Little Mexico. If they want to do that so bad, why don't they stay in Mexico?" Uh...okay?

It is known and the nuance is not a surprise among Hispanics.
I grew up with many Asians and it is my experience that they also, within their own communities, openly speak of a perceived hierarchy among themselves. I think if you ask the average Asian who, within their community, claims superiority most would point to the Chinese. That is my experience in talking with Thai, Vietnamese, Koreans, and Japanese etc. friends. I've also noticed that Filipinos will sometimes identify as Chinese Flip as opposed to just saying Filpino.
Common generalizations/criticisms that I have heard, even recently among the Latin community, includes viewing Cubans as complainers and having a poor work ethic due to decades of minimal work experience. Contrast that to Cubans who have grown up here. Boricuas (Puerto Ricans) and Colombians often have the gift of the gab but one should think twice or at least be careful if doing business with them as they are not the most trustworthy and are more talk than substance. Venezuelans, who once thumbed their nose at the Colombians, now are the butt of Colombian jokes. Hondurans and Guatemalans are hard workers but not the sharpest tools in the shed, also they're short. Just give an Argentinian a few minutes to remind you that they are more European than they are Latin, lol;) also, their women are crazy. No one really discusses Costa Ricans except Bolivians. Is Brazil even Latin? They don't even speak Spanish. All joking aside they are unique and are the only economy that can is larger than Mexico, but the language barrier is just that a barrier. Mexicans are often discussed mainly because they get they represent the largest group in the U.S. and have a long history of being in the news for southern border issues, hence it is obvious why these groups trying to distinguish themselves from Mexicans.
Even among Mexicans the infighting and claim to superiority is known. If not because of class/fairness in skin color, as others have mentioned, Regios(Monterrey) will go to their grave as superior to Chilangos (MxCity). Both tell those from SSHihuahua to SSHutup and simply have more daughters. The Sinaloans are the Guatemalans of Mexico as they are not so bright. Oaxacans are the Iowans/Nebraskans of the group. Sonorans/Coahuilans are the ranchers of the bunch etc...And everyone in Mexico and I mean EVERYONE knows that those from TaTaTaTamaulipas are a different breed. Damn! (Don't get me started on defining the differences/contributions to the menu of Mexican food. For example, Trompo or Al Pastor? Whats the difference. Depends on the region. You would think it is obvious quesadillas, have cheese. NOT so fast! Ask a chilango. )
Individual differences among the Latin community is vast. I giggle when I hear leaders of the black/latino community say if only we could unite the black and Hispanic voice. Thats not the tie that binds. If only there were some good ideas that are.

Toledo and Madrid it is. Staying in hotels. For Toledo, it's 4 nights at Eugenia de Montijo, which is built in the palace where Empress Eugenie lived.
For Madrid, it's 6 nights at the new EDITION Madrid. I have a room with a terrace, though I might upgrade to a suite.
Because I'm using points for Madrid and tagging this trip to the back of a work trip, total cost is coming in around 1k. For 10 days. I'll probably use Avios to cover my internal flights to and from London, so it should drop it even further. I'm gruntled by this. My only spending will be activities and shopping. If I budget 5k for this trip, I think it'd be pretty amazing.
Keep us posted!

Sometimes i drop a frozen bag of Normandy blend veggies and two big handfuls of spinach on top of some frozen dumplings. I then drizzle some soy, sesame oil, some water and some terriyaki. I've never been disappointed and its easy.

we don't yet have a road-paving o-line that guarantees 100 yard rushers in every road game
we don't yet have a receiver room that never drops a catchable ball
we don't yet have kickers that are icy coffin corner nails from 55
we don't yet have DBs that merit the "U" moniker who shut down 3rd and long stopping opposing offenses that moved the ball at will between the 30s every game last year
we haven't yet proven we've reloaded the backfield and that is a TALL ORDER and the burden of proof on this one is VERY HIGH
we don't have a human-eating pass rush that puts the fear of god in opposing QBs and OCs that have to plan for it and design around it
cheer is a lost cause and pom has been down for a decade
anything else i've missed?
