  1. Even our 3rd string is gettin some.
  2. The family owned the pets, Cheech and Mia, for more than eight years without a violent incident, Kelsey Canfield, the mother's best friend, told Fox News. "I can promise you those children were her world, and if there was any inkling of danger, she would have never had those dogs near her kids," Canfield told the outlet. Always the same thing from owners of that breed...they even turned on the owner. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/family-dogs-kill-2-tennessee-children-injure-mom-who-tried-to-stop-mauling-family-says/ar-AA12K1Gg?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=2868b7145981405ebc7c61db93322a27
  3. When I read this a few days back it stuck with me, and I didn't have time to respond. It is a thought and sentiment that came to me in the past. In fact, so much so that it caused me to reconsider the whole book then from that one particular perspective. At that time, I came away with the following conclusion. I hope it helps. It did for me. What person in their right mind would have allowed the Bible, as we know it, to be The Book that represents Him and the history of His people? Seriously, think about it. If you were God and knew you had to allow one book to be penned about you and especially your "followers", would you have allowed the Old and New be your Testament? I would have written about one chapter and said that's it! Good enough. It would have been a cleaner more uplifting text than the one we got. I would have left out 65 of the 66 books in it. I mean have ya'll read the Old Testament? Especially the books of history are story after story of failure. God's people sucked chapter after chapter. So much so it is THE reason Muslims call us "Infidels" because of our documented consistent unfaithfulness to our God. Then in the New Testament there isn't a book that talks more about the failures of his people than the book of Corinthians yet in that very book it has the audacity to start with the verse, "To the Church of God in Corinth..." I mean WTF??? Draw your own conclusions but in the end here is what I took away from it. If the Bible is a book of fairytales and unicorns, as the unbelievers claim, why allow what was written. I mean if it truly is a ploy to pull the wool over our collective eyes and control us, as the unbelievers claim, why expose all our mistakes. We are the collective Don Quixote of peoples. If I were God I would have had Jesus ride in on a stallion kicking ass and taking names and not on some donkey only to be mocked and spit on? I was left to infer that a perfect text with perfect people would have been the real "fairytale". To me documenting who we really are was more TRUTH than anything else. And in the end it goes to the heart of why we are called believers. So, as crazy as it seems. The fact that we have an imperfect text that tells our imperfect history became a strength to me as to why the Bible is true to me. And i'm clear, that is what i choose to believe. I suppose many will continue to support their reasons for believing thru scripture, word of mouth witnesses, historical figures, deductions and implications of the metaphysical but in the end, to me it boils down to some who choose to believe, therefore earning the title people of faith, and those that don't. It really is that simple. And though history shows us to be an unworthy, "...even in our offenses and sins, He still loves us." Why? I can't tell you, but i choose to believe because He is better than us. And if He gets what He is after in us it/we will be the greatest comeback story of all time, because as you say he has every reason to dump us. If nothing else, i like that some of you guys provoke thought. Whether we land on the same side of things all the time is neither here nor there. I really do appreciate you guys, most of the time;), and can respect our differences. I am often better for it. All the best Brisket.
  4. I got roped into a wedding and just my luck these thats are all aggies. Groomsmen came into the reception with Horns down. FML. Keep me informed.
  5. I was expecting to read about ole Pontikes, guess not. Then again i won't be surprised to read when someone/a sub, other than a priest, tries to take that dude out.
  6. While I understand where you are coming from and agree with your sentiment that the new covenant brought a message of love and inclusiveness however your statement is only partially true. And since it seems you prefer the words of Jesus over Paul, a simple rereading of Matthew 5 and especially 10 makes my point. Your intent is right but just not inclusive of both sides of truth. Also, while Paul early in his understanding was more legal, Cor vs Hebrews, he was the most progressive apostle. No one save jews would even have a seat at the table if Paul didn't do what he was commissioned to do. Even Jesus had his priorities Matt 15:24-26. Sobering when one really takes it all in. No one is without sin, but neither are we without accountability. And no one, i mean NO ONE likes to be held accountable. Thats why everyone's finger is pointed every other direction but their own.
  7. They've built a dline. Somehow the big-headed guy that cooks bad bbq is still selling the reputation of a D coordinator that has left. Or they're dropping bags. Its one or the other. There is no denying they dominate the dline position right now and have for a few years. I personally wouldn't trade any other position group from Texas with aTm. Maybe LB's, maybe not. Hell i'd rather have Tom Herman than Jumbo.
  8. Most places like these will offer an off menu a la carte salsa. I can't say enough about a chili pequin salsa. It usually comes in a small molcajete. Damn, its my favorite bar none. So got damn tasty and the heat is perfectly balanced.
  9. Its still my favorite though the trend with locals these days is to steer you to Sonora Prime. The olds will say Los Arcos.
  10. Not to be confused with LOS Pampas which is a Brazilian steakhouse that also rocks. Except you pay 15 not $50! The Tech location is a few blocks from the LAS, so its easy to confuse.
  11. El Rey...its not bad just don't order steak there, but El Pipiripau in Mercado Juarez will do you right and is much cheaper for goat.
  12. Noted. Let me know. Morelos St. in the Barrio Antiguo is hopping full of vendors/artisans these days on Sundays followed by a walk/boat ride to the Parque Fundidora. That is always good for the family if they are with you. I jogged the Obispado just the other morning. I hadn't been in a while. It was a clear day, as you know thats not always the case, and i left inspired. Enjoy!
  13. dude! I'm in Houston this week you surly fuck. I would have gladly hosted if i had known you were coming. Hmm...
  14. Hopefully this is the crack in the dam over there....
