Lot of stuff closing on this side of White Rock Lake. Hypnotic Donuts, which had been around for almost 13 years has closed. Hong Kong Restaurant which had been in business for over 60 years is gone. Same strip center and there is talk that the whole center is going away for a new development.

    RIP Barbec’s

My best friend from HS/college moved to Phoenix like 15 years ago and so we never see each other. He's got a place in Rocky Point and has been begging me to come hang out. Fly into Phoenix and drive 3.5 hours to the house, last hour in Mexico. Finally going in a couple weeks and freaking excited about it.

Not really regional for this board but half the folks on here aren't either. Hoping for some intel, but gfy is also welcomed.

The 2 of you in Mexico?  What could possibly go wrong?

    This is what I'm sayin'.

Funny story: when the boy was maybe 10, we went to Michi Ramen.  Had a bit of a wait, so we were waiting outside.  The sign outside the Yellow Rose was advertising their lunch special -- "Steak lunch: $5.99"  The boy sees it, and says "hey dad, you and I should go eat there sometime!"  Mom, sister and I crack up, he looks confused.  I explain to him what the Rose is, and he got embarrassed as hell.

    My point exactly.

This morning sitting in church at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian I had Paramount coverage playing through my Bluetooth hearing aids while pretending to pay attention to Palm Sunday services.

My grandmother spun in her grave.

St. Andrews?  It’s a signGos wants you paying attention to the golf
