It’s not even/just the “far left.” It’s a lot of pretty ordinary folks. People who don’t fit any mold of “radicals who are obviously armed.” And those people just take a simple stance that should be the American baseline: authoritarians who would end our republic, whether they be commie pinkos or christofasicsts, should be shot in the fucking face.

    I have 5 and I don’t even like guns.

I've used Hooper Plumbing for the last decade or so and have been happy.  They get people out quickly and stuff is fixed when they leave.

Honestly, I'm not sure how they are for prices because I haven't compared them to anyone else in years.

Even though I’m not the person who asked, thanks for the rec.  My long-time guy, who was the best, most honest plumber to ever walk the earth, died last year.  So the next time I need a plumber I will be starting from scratch.

Honest question that I'm sure you've answered elsewhere: what do you think happens to all of this stuff is he his elected President?

I don't think he will, and I want desperately to share your optimism of "real" (not just financial) punishment coming his way. But what if he wins this shit again?

    The great experiment is over.

  4. There’s a pizza place by the house that will deliver a passable chicken parm for $12.  Throw in some calamari or a salad and you meet the delivery minimum.  It’s the definition of Cisco Italian food, but if the wife is out of town and you’ve been drinking too much it works.  I would rather do that than try the kfc version.

How dafuq is his stake worth $3 bil?

Could is an important word there.  I could fuck Margot Robbie this weekend.  There is a non-zero chance of it happening, as we are both alive and I could procure a cheap Spirit plane ticket to LA, hang out at a few Hollywood hotspots, and shoot my shot if I happened to find myself within 500 feet of her.  But probably not.

Yeah. When I asked where they were eating. I wasn't being a dick. I figured they had something nice or different planned for the birthday. Like something special planned ..

But. I guess the rooti tooti fresh and fruity was good enough

That’s IHOP.  Denny’s is the Grand Slam.  I have nothing against Denny’s, I ate breakfast there every time I went fishing with my grandpa as a kid, and plenty of times at 3 a.m. later in life.  Denny’s has a space in the restaurant universe that it occupies well, but I ain’t spending 8 hours in a car with 3 kids to eat a grand slam.

Reminds me of a picture I once saw about a camping trip to Yellowstone with an old open top car that had rows of seats like that. For some reason I thought it was Teddy Roosevelt

Pretty standard safari setup.  Spent a week in the bush in one of these.

I absolutely blame Brisket for this, but when I am traveling I prefer to skip the fast food places and instead see what the local gas station has to offer.

The happy compromise is a Dairy Queen.  Dependable.  Reliable.  Better than an alsups burrito.  But if you find yourself in a town that isn’t big enough to keep a DQ in business,  the alsups burrito looks pretty fucking good.

I’m sticking to my 750s of regular ass Elijah Craig and handles of EWBiB. It’s always on shelf, tastes good, and is well priced. I’m a simple man: I eat when I’m hungry, I drink when I drive.

Aside from a few bottles I keep around for special occasions, if I’m having a drink before dinner on a Wednesday night, it’s EWBIB.  It used to be Weller or Antique, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

My trips to Wendy’s are limited at this point to twice a year for a small Frosty but I always thought their chicken (sammy, strips, nugs) were better than the other FF places, including Whataburger.

And this is why I no longer go to Wendy’s.  I used to get a spicy chicken sandwich meal about once a week.  The fast food chicken sandwich landscape has changed a lot in the last 10-20 years.  CFA started it.  Popeyes finished it.  Both are closer to my house than the nearest Wendy’s.
