  1. Heavy downpour just started again in Cedar Park. Not ideal.
  2. You're surprised? Really?!? In 2017 he said our military didn’t have any bullets because Obama & Biden didn't appropriate funds for ammunition. There's nothing he won't blame on someone else.
  3. You know, the billions of dollars Abbott & Co wasted on a few miles of border fence in the middle of nowhere that will have zero impact on immigration sure seems like it might have come in useful to help guard against an event like this.
  4. Hahahaha...that's a good one. Now, if Abbott comes out & says this network will somehow be powered by coal trucked in from West Virginia....
  5. Rot in hell you hobbit-sized POS.
  6. I'm from Minnesota. I've seen mosquitoes pick up a Buick.
  7. Yep. Because they know the next one is scheduled for 6PM and it's going to be the exact same fucking script.
  8. Yeah, I've got a lot of standing water in my backyard here in 78613 and a steady river in the side yard between my neighbor's house. We're not in danger of flooding here but it's going to be a soggy mess for days to come.
  9. Hot Wheels trying to shut down the presser as the questions become more direct. Noem's trying to dodge the question re: the failure to respond to the NWS alerts. And plant a kiss on her boss's balloon knot in the process.
  10. This presser was delayed 90 minutes for this? Did it take them that long to agree the proper sequence to kiss ass? Now Hot Wheels is trying to to invoke the image of children clinging to trees for exactly what purpose? "Pray so much." Great job, dipshit.
  11. And now Chip is doing everything he can to shame anyone who would dare to ask questions about the response and preparedness of the responding agencies. And now it's the judge's turn to try and get some sympathy for what he went through.
  12. This is an absolute disgrace. These fuckers are doing nothing but filming campaign commercials.
  13. Holy shit, do the citizens dealing with this tragedy have to first listen to Abbott publicly suck off other politicians before getting any direction or guidance on how to move forward?
  14. When the mayor's only advice was "please pray" you know it's going to be a long next few days.
  15. "Devastating and deadly flood" from the presser. They have numbers about missing people, but will not be reporting them until a scheduled 3PM update.
  16. Unfortunately, this is the environmental reality of Texas today: In order for large swaths of our state to emerge from devastating drought it will require rain events that will destroy other areas. This storm is both tragic and life restoring.
  17. Stockton is indeed an orthopedic surgeon & was a kicker & punter for Texas '98 - 2000. Pretty damn reliable & had a walk off kick to beat the aggies at DKR as well.
  18. How long did my fellow old farts wait to address arthritis in your big toe(s]? My left one is pretty sore at the end of the day (I try walk a lot/stand as much as a white collar job allows; 12,000 steps a day is common). Flexing it upwards can result in a sharp pain. And when I get in bed at night sometimes the pressure of the covers causes it to flair up. It almost never bothers me during the day & I'm still one of the fastest walking SOBs you'll ever find (it's a running joke at work). I'm thinking it might be time to go see Kris Stockton like my wife did. He fileted her left big toe to remove a bone spur & clean up stuff, but she's definitely on the arthritis train. Our favorite moments are our daily walks & easy/moderate nature hikes. I shudder at the thought of losing that ability.
  19. Enjoying a cold one while the rain falls on the zoysia I just finished mowing 15 minutes ago. 78613.
  20. Ramifications? For today's GQP? Repeat after Brisket: the cruelty is the point! They really believe that the policies will hurt everyone they don't like & somehow exclude themselves.
  21. Haven't seen it in years, but we got into a routine of re-watching Frasier at night awhile ago and near the end of the series when Martin marries the boys' former babysitter, Ronee, I found myself trying to figure out who the actress was that played her due to her distinctive voice. The actress is Wendie Malick who played Nina Van Horn
  22. Yikes. So which river provides the barrier for you, the one on the east that runs through Ferry and Anderson, or the one on the west?
  23. How's the home reno going in the new place?
  24. Now that's kind of a big deal.
