  1. That was...something.
  2. He'd sound better than this dude, no doubt.
  3. Those bastards will do everything they can to retain the more expensive cable customers, but he may get a discount that lasts for a couple months or so. I was surprised at how easy my experience was in October. Like AB, I had a legacy bundled account (cable/gig internet/land line) for at least 15 years. WIth the Gold cable package plus HBO/SHO/Starz and 3 DVRs we were pushing $370/mo. Oh yeah, we also switched our cell phones to Spectrum about 3 years ago which was another $100/mo ($50/line). Not only did they cut the cable w/o any fight and dropped our monthly bill (gig internet & land line because it's almost impossible to get rid of the fucking thing) to just over a hundred a month, he lowered our cell phone plan from the $50/line/month plan we were on to the new customer price of $35/line/month. I did a double take and asked if this was an introductory rate that would go up & he said no, they wanted valued customers to have the same experience as new customers. When I joked that I'd be stupid to say "no" to saving thirty bucks a month he replied that I'd be surprised at how many people turn down that savings out of principle. Spectrum just might be getting the big picture finally & realizing what they're going to have to do to retain customers let alone get new ones in this market.
  4. Good lord this is just bad TV. Zero crowd noise/energy. Just monotonous platitudes with crowd shots of half asleep fans.
  5. Technically 14, but sadly it's close enough. Let's open all their holes.
  6. One more bit of anecdotal support for YTTV: my wife has not complained once about the UI since we switched from Spectrum cable. She had at least a year's worth of Roku, Apple TV & Spectrum TV app experience so it wasn't cold turkey, but it's very easy to use. Plus being able to organize your lineup & skip all the shit you don't watch is huge. Best feature is definitely multiview for sports.
  7. Any antenna will pick up both formats, however to get the VHF signal 99% of the time you will need it to be attached to at least a window. UHF is more forgiving and you can usually put it anywhere inside your house & get a decent signal. Fox7 doesn't deal well with interior obstructions.
  8. That's your problem. Click on the gear in the lower right corner of the app to adjust the resolution. On a PC it will sometimes default to really low rez. You can adjust accordingly. You won't have to do this on your TVs as it will output to the highest quality available automatically.
  9. That's no lube by Spectrum. I was in a similar bundle until October. If you don't want too much change you can contact Spectrum & tell them you want to switch to their streaming bundle. You'll save considerably & can probably even have them come hook up everything & take away your old DVRs (that will save you at least $40/mo there).
  10. The OTA will just be an RF type coax connector. Every TV and display will have one.
  11. It gets better. And I highly recommend ponying up the extra ten bucks a month for the 4K package (you'll get unlimited device connectivity as well).
  12. There's no justification for not having at least one TV in your domicile connected to an OTA antenna. Zero. They're cheap, simple to install, and oh yeah, the best uncompressed image quality. If nothing else just have one in case of severe weather & unexpected cable/network outages.
  13. From Cedar Park, waiting for the [emoji477]️ to be ready TEXAS!!!
  14. One of the most embarrassing things I ever witnessed was about a decade ago when a former astronaut who flew on 2 shuttle missions gave a presentation at my company promoting STEM. She obtained one of her degrees from Texas, and as she gave her presentation she showed a photo she'd taken of the sun rising over the earth & how the beautiful, burnt orange sun reminded her of home (or words to that effect). Two or 3 aggies in the audience hissed at her remark. Fucking hissed, like petulant little children. One started and the others joined in. Who would act like that in a professional setting when hearing a story from an actual astronaut?
  15. "Good" Fields was on full display that drive, slipping out of 3 sacks he had no business escaping. Vikes stiffen and force the FG try that was pushed wide right. Skol, Vikes!
  16. And when the players from that class start hitting the portal in the coming weeks they'll see it as proof they weren't "real Ags" and Elko knew this as soon as he laid eyes on them and sniffed their assholes just like Reveille so he showed them the door. No matter the situation, aggy has just the right lies to tell themselves so they'll sleep well at night.
  17. They've gotta be ready to try and pull an old, white DC from the NFL before the end of the day, right?
  18. Yesterday I saw oSu having trouble containing BYU's speed to the corner on sweeps and quick outs. Let that sink in.
  19. Happy birthday to me. And to think I was really just hoping on a beej from Mrs GOTJ this morning. The aggy coaching search is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
  20. To think that two weeks ago aggy was pounding their collective chest and screaming all across every media outlet there is how A&M is a tier 1 coaching destination and how they were fielding calls from all across the country from interested coaches. Dear aggy. It's not them. It's you. It's always been you.
  21. Spencer and Brando seem to be openly drunk in the booth tonight.
  22. This coaching hire is the equivalent of your neighbor with the jacked up King Ranch F-250 that was totally useless for his 15 mile daily commute on city roads. Everybody knew he couldn't afford it, so when he announced he was trading it in only to show up with a brand new Yukon Denali it became obvious he just went deeper in the hole for something that didn't match his means or needs at all.
  23. Do you have enough beer/non-breakable shit in your garage to last through the 4th quarter?
  24. Does this mean Lincoln Riley's house in Cali is not on the market?
  25. Stoops was obviously the coach "out west" that Looch hinted at just to throw people off the trail.
