  1. I'm not even disagreeing with this. I'm disagreeing with your notion that GOP-voting constituents are blameless. The more relevant question is who has done a better job at promoting the long-term general welfare while tasked with winning elections in the Reagan Revolution Overton Window- Citizens United, repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, internet disinformation, defunding education, etc... The compounded Frankenstein effects of this we virtually watched in real time when the GOP leadership went from condemning the J6 attack on democracy to downplaying or defending it within a matter of weeks. More than anything else, that was GOP voting constituent-driven.
  2. Circa after Obamacare became available "Thanks, Obama!"- fellow WWC employee at company meeting responding to the owner discussing that they dropped insurance coverage due to rising costs "That was before Obama" (happened in 2005)- Me, grateful to have a Blue Cross Blue Shield Silver Plan for 101 dollars a month thru Obamacare "Oh"- fellow WWC employee whom I can almost guarantee is still voting straight GOP The notion this guy is blameless for obstinately voting against his own interests is absurd.
  3. When a recidivist convicted con-artist makes an evidence-free claim, you should probably believe him. That's just common sense right there.
  4. Hopefully Paxton offers a million dollar reward for evidence of voter fraud again and someone turns in Elon.
  5. Starting a trade war with China that immediately necessitated a taxpayer bailout for farmers was Super Dave-level business-ing.
  6. Because according to GOP orthodoxy, corporations are people when it comes to the law protecting them but not people when it comes to the law binding them.

  8. If a conservative Iranian cleric publicly called for the execution of innocent Americans- a position he defends to this day, a history of inciting violence amongst Americans from "knock the hell out of them" comments to mass shooter manifestos' parroting his talking points to J6ers violently trying to overturn the results of a free and fair election, a history of idolizing foreign anti-democratic dictators including claiming he "fell in love" with a communist dictator who murdered an American college student, saying military force should be used against Americans who oppose him, etc... Would you say that Iranian cleric loved America?
  9. CF isn't running for president. The guy who mocked the hammer attack on Paul Pelosi and refused to follow President Biden's lead renouncing political violence and who you support is.
  10. Being I'm currently in Harris Co taking care of both parents who have recently been admitted to nursing rehab and willing likely soon be transitioning out, I'm assuming I'll have to make a day trip to Blanco Co where I'm registered to vote.
  11. MAGA's gonna enter these pics as evidence in one of their post-election lawsuits.
  12. The thousand yard stare photo ops at the border are particularly farcical considering all the construction in downtown Austin. Just walk in any direction from the Governor's Mansion. "Hey Greg! I found them!"
  13. Expecting, rightfully so, a return on investment of taxes paid and their vote in the form of policies that promote the general welfare, one of the stated purposes of the Constitution, isn't a handout. I'm no expert on messaging or salesmanship, but adopting and validating this conservative, class-selective definition seems like terrible messaging. Plus, it's not true. The middle class will gladly accept help from Medicare, SS, FEMA, pandemic payouts, child tax credits, etc... it's just that they don't want to acknowledge they rightfully receive government assistance that the wealthy and corporations openly spend millions lobbying for.
