We just signed Higgins (WR Iowa St) to a fully guaranteed deal.
First second-round pick to ever get a fully guaranteed deal.
Im all for high risk/reward moves, and I think some of the extensions we signed recently are big on that, but I just don't see the reward here. Hopefully one of y’all can explain it to me.
Cam Rising is medically retiring from football. His 8th year of eligibility was apparently in play but he is two years older than CJ Stroud, who has been to the NFL playoffs twice.
Fare the well, we hardly knew ye
Pretty sick to have to wait until May to lose a series... Schloss will help the boys make lemonade out of this, we'll bounce back.
Also, for a team that "wasn't ready" for the SEC, the entire conference throws a digital-kegger any time we lose - that's respect.
🤘
Understand where you're coming from but a few counterpoints:
- Ersery is a tackle, he had a great day against Penn State's Top 5 EDGE. Draft profile says he could play guard but there's still IOL available in FA. He's our new tackle.
- Did you see the WR corps we rolled out against KC and LAC? If Nico's the X, we just drafted our Y and Z starters for years to come, with Kirk there to allow them room to grow. And we replaced our KR.
Some other picks are just SWARM guys. We want what SF has, a very tough group who beats up on others. Whether that pans out who knows.
- Graham Maeetz is an A+ pussy. This one is no good.
We're bringing in Eli Cox as an UDFA, he was Kentucky's center. Team Captain and had a 6th round grade, can play center or guard. Has some big concerns in his draft profile but at least we're kicking tires on OL.
But you want contrasting/complimentary backs, not two guys who do the same thing.
Also word on Skatt is the skills won't translate when facing pro defenders. I think he'll do fine, but there are concerns.
Just a heads up but on ESNPNNEWS it is whiffleball right now, then an hour of disc golf, then dodgeball, then air guitar competition!
Kinda sick. Whiffleball and Disc Goof played at the highest level are both very watchable. Not even August 8th.
With a team that has established talent like ours, I don't see any purpose in drafting two 6th rounders and two 7th rounders.
Let's trade up into the 4th or 5th.
I'm giving Ryans & Caserio the benefit of the doubt with their track record but don't get that Smith pick at all.
We must feel GREAT about our existing OL guys under the new coach.
Now have 5 in Top 100. Best center still available if they want to move Patterson to guard. Should probably use three of 5 on OG & OT, and get Cam Williams. Other two should be WR & DT/DB.
Good trade.
