  1. When we approached them about a home and home in 22/23, it was telling that their answer was a quick “we’re full those years” instead of trying to work out a postponement with Miami or outright dumping one of their buy-a-wins with Lamar or Kent state each season to make it happen. While we’ve worked with Arkansas in the past to accommodate them (fucking Arkansas!) and moved a Michigan game up to this year for tv and conference reasons, plus we or nd cancelled a series not long ago I when factors dictated. So these scheduling changes do happen- just more evidence that they were hiding from us. Not even a “hey we tried but contracts are contracts and we didn’t have contractual partners willing to work with us.” Just “sorry we are full those years.”
  2. And ticket allotment is equal, assuming we sell ours, unlike a game in Athens. There may be enough longhorns in dc/virginia/carolinas/Atlanta to take care of our allotment without anyone traveling from Texas.
  3. I made the same mistake last Sunday by saying we could give them and aggy their fourth losses.
  4. First real exposure to him talking was the part of this post-game that I watched. He looks like a typical meathead football coach, but he speaks like someone of good intelligence. Doesn’t make him a great coach in and of itself, but being smart is better than the alternative in most professions. Which could bode well for them/ except for the fact that he doesn’t sound like them so they won’t give him any kind of runway before running him off the Ben though they loved him as DC. I mean, he started from a position of “we should have done better but at least he’s not mark stoops” with the fanbase.
  5. Now that we got ou their preferred soft landing spot, the evil empire Texas thing to do would be to beat all of our rivals, win the conference and then leave it ourselves for the big10. culturally, it’d be wrong to have Texas in the sec and aggy in the b10. This would fix that and cement our status as hated. And then there’d be more games in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Eugene, Ann Arbor, and Columbus.
  6. I’m sure Georgia believes they are locked into a home game if they lose, we may see based on the next ranking. I don’t see value in choosing to lay down in a game that isn’t a must win, to guarantee yourself another win or go home game in the playoffs. additionally, I think I’d prefer the extra game to be now with time to heal, then go into an 8 team tournament. Rather than starting rest now and then having to play the extra game right at the start of the tournament. It’s borderline unfair to have a team play in its ccg and then also in the first round, when teams like Tennessee and Ohio state wont have that possibility by virtue of not making the ccg. Maybe a future state of the playoffs would have all ccg participants with a bye. Makes it meaningful to reach that game win or lose, and doesn’t punish the loser. Would require expansion again though.
  7. In the NFL, ineligible receivers must have at least part of their body no more than 1 yard beyond the line of scrimmage when a pass is thrown, unless they are engaged in a continuous block that began prior to leaving the 1-yard zone. In college football, the NCAA allows ineligible receivers a maximum of 3 yards.[4 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ineligible_receiver_downfield
  8. I feel like ND is attached at the hip to the Chicago media market, via both proximity and alumni base. And therefore I assumed that NIL treated them the same way. Is that not the case so far?
  9. Will they be able to field a DL for the Poulan weedeater bowl after all of the opt outs?
  10. I have to strenuously disagree with Jordan about the comedy level. It may be the funniest thing to ever have happened.
  11. Their only November win was New Mexico State? Yup that is accurate.
  12. My response to this is that we had 240 rushing yards and they had 248 total yards. They didn’t even score after the big punt block. They had nothing.
  13. Didn’t drink until after the game. The Founders breakfast stout tasted very good.
  14. And maybe someone could hit up mcafee and ask him which team is the blue collar and which has had everything handed to them, or how scary Kyle field was. That was some bullshit pandering this morning at our program’s expense.
  15. Will the media ever stop claiming Kyle field is a tough place to play?
  16. 2 bad plays all game from 3 kept this from being over in 3 quarters. But he did enough, and those back to back long drives around the pick 6 gassed their defense, who had all the rest of a kickoff in between. Did cost the team a shutout though. But our defense and their offense know what happened when they were on the field.
