The guy said he's traveling on a tight budget this trip and wanted some cheap eats spots. Geez. Don't be so defensive. I was only saying that you don't need to spend over $200 to have a very good meal.
  2. Well that was a good 7 year run for the Astros (2020 doesn't count). I still maintain the Rangers will be irrelevant until the year 2034. @beercan go ahead a neg me again
  3. After spending a week in the Pacific Northwest and a few days in Vancouver I much prefer east coast oysters over west coast. West coast taste buttery to me and I don't like the texture.
  4. I'm in Washington and enjoying everyone happy about the the Mariners. I was talking to a random guy at a bar and he said the Astros will sneak into the wildcard and knock Seattle out of the playoffs because that how it's been forever. I hope so, but not going to happen this year.
  5. Stop with the Luhnow was the greatest GM ever rettoric. Yes he built a great team, but he was also a cancer to the organization. There's a reason no other team hired him afterwards.

Don't worry about all that bougie high end shit. You can get better food at a local Indian or African restaurant. I think it was Enish Oxford where I had a very good West African meal. Belly up to the bar and enjoy
  7. Looking for Kid friendly Sunday? MF Sushi isn't it. Lucille's is solid. Not a whole lot going on in the Museum District Sundays. Take 3putt's suggestion and Uber to Tiny Champions or Gypsy Poet if you want pizza. It's also an easy train ride to Gypsy Poet or downtown from the museum district. I also hear good things about Late August. You also have a shit ton do do in Rice Village that will be very kid friendly.
  8. Probably went the ChatGPT and ketamine route
  9. Singapore is nice. Excellent food scene and very affordable. You will go broke drinking booze though. KL is also nice, but pretty much like every other big city. I enjoyed the rooftop bars and street food. Penang is also a short flight away if you want something different.
  10. Altuve no ground out to the SS. Most likely for a DB
  11. Try something new and different and go to Bungalow. Then drink some whiskey at Houston Watch Company.
  12. https://www.chron.com/gulf-coast/article/galveston-water-brown-blue-texas-20362690.php It's the Gulf currents most of the year that muddy water from the Galveston Bay, Mississippi River, and the Sabine River. - Blue/clear - Light winds allowing sediment to retreat, or winds from the south that push high-salinity water up the coast - Green - Likely the presence of organic phytoplankton - Yellow/light brown - Typical hue with substantial sediment present in the water - Dark brown/black - A whole lot of sediment is present in the water, possibly after severe storms
  13. The best thing about it is it fits under the seat. So no big deal if you can't find overhead bin space.
  14. Something like this. It's a perfect weekend bag that can be carried like a briefcase or backpack. https://topodesigns.com/products/global-briefcase
  15. or be down 12 runs going into the 9th
  16. I hear the Chase Sapphire lounge at LaGuardia is very nice
  17. 8x points on all travel booked through Chase: Chase doesn't always give you the best pricing, but 8x points would most likely make up the difference. $250 x 2 yearly credit for The Edit hotels booked through Chase: These are all luxury hotels I won't be booking with $150 x 2 dining credit through Sapphire Reserve exclusive tables via OpenTable: Select restaurants I doubt I will be dining in Priority Pass + Air Canada Maple leaf lounge (when traveling on star alliance). Priority pass pretty much sucks these days I would use the $300 travel credit and most likely Peloton and Lyft credits, but nothing else. So that's $540 total credits.. I think I'm going to downgrade after I renew my Global Entry next month.
  18. I'm going to get pizza delivered before I spend over $10 on a frozen pizza. Dominos and Pizza Hut aren't bad these days.
  19. The .whatever rating is stupid
  20. Hell yes, but this place is the best https://maps.app.goo.gl/Xmw59dEEGM15g92f6
  21. ^^^^ look at this baller
  22. I have no problems finding green space within the loop, and most are biking distance. Others are no longer than a 10 minute drive. Are you going to go on a hike? No, other than some Memorial Park trails Nice lakes? No I don't mid Galveston at all. Was there a couple of weeks ago and the water was pretty clear that day. The Strand is nice.
  23. I guess I'm in the minority of one that still enjoys downtown. Plenty of good bars and the restaurant scene is improving. I'm downtown bar hopping about once a month, although Main St is getting too clubby for me.
