    Crawfish

Doesn't matter on the size, it matters when the crawfish last molted. The crawfish are most likely overcooked if they hard to peel.
  4. I shouldn't talk bad about Chris Shepherd. He treats his employees well and I'm sure he has to charge more for food to pay for the cost. He also does a good job helping the industry workers with Southern Smoke,

  7. Exactly. I'm happy the trend of truffle oil has died off
  8. Flatiron is a good cut. There are 6 new restaurants opening in the Montrose Collective https://houston.eater.com/2022/1/26/22902565/new-houston-restaurants-montrose-collective Chelsea Oyster Bar Graffiti Raw, a casual restaurant noted on the layout, will offer light fare with fire-grilled proteins and a vibe reminiscent of both Venice Beach, California and Tulum, Mexico. Though he declined to name the man behind the new spot, Radom emphasized that it’s a well-known Houston-based restaurateur. A certificate of formation for Graffiti Raw, LLC, lists Grant Cooper — behind restaurants Brasserie 19, Gratify, and Coppa Osteria — as the manager. Austin-based Picnik, known for its options that cater to various diets, including keto, paleo, vegetarian, and gluten-free, will open a full-service restaurant — with highlights being weekend brunch, pressed juices, and cocktails, which include zero-proof alcohol options. Baltimore’s Atlas Restaurant Group will open Italian chophouse, Marmo, by the end of March — offering diners an assortment of salads, fresh pasta dishes, charcuterie and live music by its horseshoe-shaped cocktail bar. New York-based ice cream company Van Leeuwen is slated to serve scoops there, too — opening in its third Houston location in the collective within the next month. (Owner Ben Leeuwen told Eater on Tuesday that there’s going to be a special Texas-themed flavor. More on that, to come!) Dallas-owned establishments will also claim space. La La Land Kind Cafe, a charming coffee shop known for its festive drinks and heartfelt mission, and Chelsea Oyster Bar, will open later this year. The oyster bar will partner with a well-known local chef, though Radom also declined to name him.
  9. Exactly. Some of the best meals are street food from a market.
  10. I stopped frequenting Hay Merchant as much as a used to because Chris Shepherd ruined it. He turned into another one of his overpriced restaurants. Hopefully someone does something good with that building. We shall see how Everlong Bar & Hideaway (UB Preserve location) turns out to be, but doesn't sound too promising. I went to Georgia James Tavern a couple of weeks ago and the food was good, but still overpriced.

  12. I'll be in CDMX late April. There are a lot of good Airbnb options. I just snagged this 2 bedroom/3 bed/ bath for $121 a night (plus fees) in the Condesa/Hippodrome area. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/46399363?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=3116c41b-af19-47cf-bbeb-7e3ec81c7926
  13. Good stuff. Guadalajara if you want the city vibe. Manzanillo if you want more beach vibe.
  14. I highly recommend Guadalajara. Puebla isn't far from Mexico City and worth a visit. Check out Monterrey
  15. I wouldn't say Texans fans are fair weather. Some show up regardless of the pathetic ownership of the franchise, most are smart enough to not support the pathetic ownership.
  16. Ted Cruz will be the Republican nominee.

    Molé

I took a cooking class when I was visiting Oaxaca. Proper mole is a pain in the ass to cook if you want to do it right. I'll try to find the recipe and post it here,
  19. Smith's Adjustable Angle has this option. It's a good sharpener and has 6 angles. Anything from kitchen knives to pocket knives. It also sharpens serrated knives.
  20. ^^^ I hadn't been in 15 years and was there in December. Very touristy now. I prefer the city than the beach. Spent a couple of nights in Akumal at an Airbnb on the beach. That was a nice getaway without it being packed.

  22. Plenty of options in Shady Acres. Onion Creek, ect...
  23. Here should have asked "where do you want it?" and then shot him.
  24. Try Pisco y Nazca and Mari Vanna if you want something different. Pisco y Nazca isn't a quick meal, but has excellent Peruvian food. Mari Vanna is a very good Russian/ Georgian restaurant with quick service. It's a pretty small place.
  25. I'm not a fan of CSR for this reason. It's almost always better to book with directly with United or transfer points to United and then book.
