  1. I used to think the same thing about Washington until I drove by last weekend. East of Shepherd is still going strong. Downtown is also getting back to normal.
  2. United Quest Card is offering 100k miles. Not a bad deal if you frequently fly United. $250 annual fee with $125 annual reimbursement of United travel purchases. 3X miles on United purchases 2X miles on all other travel 2X miles on dining Two 5,000-mile anniversary award flight credits
  3. I assume they are including the entire nine-county Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land region. Pretty dumb.
  4. TMC hospitalization numbers show Houston is back to September numbers, which is also equivalent to early June numbers.
  5. Backups may have or may not have helped in this case. The hackers had been snooping around the network for a year before they took the system down. I'm sure they could restore, but it would take weeks to get everything back to where it was before the network was infiltrated. It's not just a simple restore.
  6. There is also the Washington Ave scene. I'm not sure if COVID killed the downtown bars or not, but downtown did look like is was opening back up last weekend.
  7. Pre-COVID I would say hit up downtown and walk around. Not sure if that's the case anymore.
  8. I don’t believe what the restaurant owners say, but yes prices are about to go up. Unemployment is fairly low in Texas. Anyway, I'm not here to discuss how a lot of restaurant workers screw over their employees. I just spent a long weekend in Boston and enjoyed the east coast oysters. I will be in NOLA the first weekend of June. Is that too late to eat raw gulf oysters, or should I stick with the char grilled oysters?
  9. This is not true and most industry workers are employed. I know many people in the industry and they are tired of being paid shit wages. Most workers have found other work or better paying jobs at a different bar/restaurant.

    Pizza

Rudyard's has Detroit style pizza. Not sure if it's good because I like thin crust.
  11. Got the Concept 2 and like it. This guy has some good workouts. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGYcAoZ9WTJriM9jZkXxoPg/videos
  12. I have no idea what's going on with DOGE but I like it
  13. 93-til is open. I went for brunch and it was pretty good other than the $10 mimosa. Haven't tried dinner yet but hear good things.
  14. My Sapphire benefits show Earn 3X points on travel worldwide immediately after earning your $300 annual travel credit. Plus, earn 3X points per $1 spent at restaurants - from fast food to fine dining.
  15. I had to get an interview for renewal. My officer said it just depends. Most of the time a passport renewal or change of address will flag you.
  16. Goodnight Charlie’s is also closed - you won't have to punch anyone
  17. Try looking early next week. I had a Zoom interview for my renewal this morning and the officer said they are in a pilot program with very few openings. There weren't any openings when I checked last week, but there were openings all day Thursday and today when I checked earlier this week.
  18. Pay the fee and enter at beach entrance #5. It's an easy entrance with any car and you can drive north a couple of miles. The sand is not cleared at access #6 and it's very likely you could get stuck in the sand without a 4x4. There are some good recommendations for seafood in the thread.
  19. I bought DOGE at .03. I'm just going to hold until it reaches $10 or goes down to $.00. Probably the latter, but it's a good gamble of 60k shares.
  20. I'm a repeat customer. How about a bike rack in the near future?

    TexMex

Yep, sub par but pretty cheap.
  22. Fence barrier in the Heights. There are many houses in the area with he same issue. My neighbor had his fence encroaching 10ft on my property according to the survey (something you don't think to measure when buying a house). He claimed adverse possession. We settled and he wound up paying me half the value of the strip of land and didn't move the fence. I wanted full value of the strip of land, but the case was dragging on and I wanted to sell my house. It wasn't worth paying more legal fees. I had to get the lot replatted.
  23. I went through a adverse possession issue on my old house. You are going to need a lawyer if you are in a situation like the Oklahoma guy..
