  1. I don't think so. Someone would have leaked. And cuban has no business knowing, it wouldn't affect anything.
  2. Luka's 25. He's a 5x all star, 5x first team all NBA, 5 time top 8 MVP vote getter. For comparison, kawhi didn't become an all star for the first time til he was 24. At the age of 33 kawhi STILL isn't 5x first team all nba. The first time Luka became an all star and was voted first team NBA he was 20. At 20 kawhi didn't even see the podium in rookie of the year voting. And that's only considering the talent level of the players.
  3. We don't really have a point guard on the team. Yes I know, Kyrie. But even then he's more a 2 in our system... We've tried piece mealing it with Grimes/hardy/ dinwiddie/PJ/Naji but it's been a disaster on the turnover front. We need exum back. And we need to sign Grimes to an extension.
  4. I think the roster makes sense until the final 5 minutes of the game.
  5. How many of you would be apathetic if we make a championship run with AD and this current version of the team? How many would be all in like you are now? I'd watch, but I don't think I'd be emotionally invested.
  6. That was orders of magnitude different if only by how much better Luka is.
  7. We won't know until we get there but I suspect for me it would be hollow. I can't think I'm unique in that way. It would be a good problem to have.
  8. Well Nico you're not a fan so you wouldn't understand.
  9. I know it's been posted elsewhere but the parts that hurts the most is... “I thought I’d spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship.”
  10. Does that signal we're not considering any other moves where we could get back under the cap?
  11. I'll never be team #FreeLuigi but here again, I understand.
  12. You know a lot but you're wrong on this one. I wish I could sleep.
  13. The team in its current form won't work. With the exception of Lively and Hardy, everyone was brought in to support Luka. PJ, Gafford, Naji, Kyrie, Klay, Grimes, Omax... So many of them have personal bonds with Luka. Gafford wanted to play for slovenia! Kyrie's wife hangs out with Luka's wife. Klay came to help Luka win a championship. How do you find the same joy and motivation to continue when the guy you thought was untouchable #1 is gone?
  14. Adelsons trying to move the team to Vegas makes the most sense. Bleed Dallas of assets, lose fans, ticket sales go down, "see mr. commissioner no one in DFW cares but we'd sell out every game in Vegas", move team, ...... profit.
  15. Lotta wrong in that post. Not wanting to sign him to the supermax doesn't add up. We've spent the last five years mortgaging our future to build around him. Less than 11 months ago we traded a first round pick for PJ Washington. We got essentially the same return for reading Luka. That money will be paid to someone or multiple someones on your roster- you pay it to the generational superstar who is not only your team's cornerstone player but also the guy the majority of your fan base recognizes as the touchstone. We weren't going to do anything this year? Luka is supposed to come back sometime in February. We were one of the favorites to make it to the WCF again.
  16. It's not. No matter what ztejas says. At least, it's not based on his previous injury history. What the Dallas doctors think about his future, who knows. Since he's been in the NBA Luka has played in 72, 61, 66, 65, 66, and 70 games. He's missed over half this season with most of it coming from the calf strain.
  17. He's taken Dallas to the WCF twice in three years. The first time he did it he was playing through a bum ankle and his starting four teammates were Dwight Powell, Reggie Bullock, Dorian Finney Smith, and a pre emergent Jalen Brunson. The last time he did it was 8 months ago when he was playing on one leg. He's been first team all-NBA the past five years. Despite missing time each season. There's some facts. You don't trade Luka because of those nagging injuries. Even if you're worried about his long term health you take calls from other teams.
  18. Without knowing anything else, I fear Nico and the Adelsons have grossly miscalculated. Even if we win the championship this season, there will be a sizable portion of the fan base who won't care because Luka's not here. Trade Kyrie or gafford and it'll be even worse.
  19. He wasn't traded because he missed those games this year. It only makes sense if the Dallas medical team sees something impacting his ability to play long term.
  20. Either Nico or the Adelsons just severely underestimated the ability of Dallas fans to not care. I find it hard to believe that Nico, after his decisions about Lively, Gafford, PJ, and Klay, would go out and do something as wildly irresponsible as not soliciting better return for Luka than AD and a first round pick 4 years down the road. A future first rounder is the same price we paid for PJ and gafford.
  21. AD is top ten this season but Lukas on a trajectory to be top 10 of all time. This doesn't make sense. There's gotta be something we don't know. Health issue? Directive from Miriam adelson? You'd still start a bidding war though.
  22. If you're selling the price is the cash bid. If you're selling a larger amount and give them a heads up they'll be more ready to accommodate you and can work around your schedule (or their schedule) also.
